Robust Leader-Following Output Regulation of Uncertain Multi-Agent Systems With Time-Varying Delay

In this paper, the robust analysis and design of leader-following output regulation for multi-agent systems described by general linear models is given in presence of timevarying delay and model uncertainty. To this aim, a new regulation protocol for the closed-loop multi-agent system under a directed graph is proposed. An important specification of the proposed protocol is to guarantee the leader-following output regulation for uncertain multi-agent systems with both stable and unstable agents. Since many signals can be approximated by a combination of the stationary and ramp signals, the presented results work for adequate variety of the leaders. The analysis and design conditions are presented in terms of certain matrix inequalities. The method proposed can be used for both stationary and ramp leaders. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

An alternative source is growing in popularity with increasing global energy use and perceivable environmental degradation everywhere in the universe. The growth of wind farms necessitates system stability analysis, which incorporates dynamical distributed generation models. Doubly fed induction machines are widely used in the context of turbines of power higher than 1MW. However, direct-drive wind turbines that use synchronous generator principles have gained significant market penetration. This investigation implements a synchronous generator model using a frequency-based matrix converter with the assistance of an SVPWM method, which measures stator as grid voltage/current and analyses total THD. Converting the fluctuating voltages to something like a stable value using a frequency-based method is done with a matrix converter.

In the Internet of things (IoT) era, vehicles and other intelligent components in an intelligent transportation system (ITS) are connected, forming vehicular networks (VNs) that provide efficient and safe traffic and ubiquitous access to various applications. However, as the number of nodes in an ITS increases, it is challenging to satisfy a varied and large number of service requests with different quality of service (QoS) and security requirements in highly dynamic VNs. Intelligent nodes in VNs can compete or cooperate for limited network resources to achieve the objective for either an individual or a group. Game theory (GT), a theoretical framework designed for strategic interactions among rational decision makers sharing scarce resources, can be used to model and analyze individual or group behaviors of communicating entities in VNs. This paper primarily surveys the recent developments of GT in solving various challenges of VNs. This survey starts with an introduction to the background of VNs. A review of GT models studied in the VNs is then introduced, including the basic concepts, classifications, and applicable vehicular issues. After discussing the requirements of VNs and the motivation of using GT, a comprehensive literature review on GT applications in dealing with the challenges of current VNs is provided. Furthermore, recent contributions of GT to VNs that are integrated with diverse emerging 5G technologies are surveyed. Finally, the lessons learned are given, and several key research challenges and possible solutions of applying GT in VNs are outlined. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Blind image Forensics has a lot of research areas and Forgery detection is one of the most active area. Existing algorithms follow the principles of block and key-point methods, or combination of them. In the research areas of image processing such as image classification, forensics, hashing and retrieval, when neural networks is applied, it shows significant results compared to the existing approaches. The drawback associated with the existing system is that changing the colour distribution of a block is not possible even if it is compressed or blurred. Color Moments approach has not been employed to detect image forgery in the traditional approaches. A novel forgery detection approach based on neural network is proposed in the paper. The duplicate regions in an image, which exploits statistical features of an image can be obtained using the proposed approach. Mean and variance are used for this purpose here, by splitting the image into pixel blocks. The contribution of each individual block with respect to pixel intensity of the entire image can be found using mean and to find the variation of each pixel from its neighbour, variance is employed.

Biometrics is essential for authenticating an individual. The existing methods of authentication includes fingerprint scanning, speech recognition, face recognition and iris recognition. The iris recognition is regarded as the most accurate. There are many textural and geometrical elements in a human eye that can be used to uniquely identify an iris pattern. An iris pattern is stable and it is not possible to replicate it. The human iris being a very potential and reliable tool for human identification has the ability to identify individuals with a high degree of assurance. The extraction of good features is the most significant step in an iris recognition system. Initially the iris is augmented. Then, the features can be extracted using a mixed architecture that includes Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN) and residual neural networks. The CNN learns image feature representations automatically. Every neuron accepts input from a small portion of the preceding layer. Weights are made of a set of learnable filters produced randomly and are locally shared. The feature map is the outcome of every filter convolved through the entire image. The pooling layer implements the down sampling operation and decrement the spatial size. The max pooling operation obtains the maximum value from each of a cluster of neurons at the previous layer. The fully connected layer use the extracted features in the preceding layer to do the classification task. The nodes belonging to this layer accepts input from all the nodes in the previous layer. The classifier is needed after feature extraction to find the corresponding label for every test image. The residual network consists of many residual blocks. The presence of an identity mapping distinguishes it from a plain block or convolution block. It has the ability to use knowledge acquired in previous layers. The framework gains advantages from both architectures, i.e., fast convergence from the convolution network and the non-saturation feat

One of the major trend in the so-called New Space Economy or Space 4.0 paradigm has seen a number of new commercial players entering the satellite industry and creating completely new business models, most of which based on very large constellations consisting of several hundreds or even thousands of satellites. The production of the high number of satellites involved in the modern mega-constellations is bringing in the Space Industry the necessity of improved and optimized manufacturing approaches suitable for serial production (standard environment/high number of platforms). In this framework, the adoption of Industry 4.0 methodologies into space industry will lead to a significant improvement and optimization of the whole Manufacturing Assembly Integration and Testing (MAIT) cycle. The main aim of Industry 4.0 is the creation of intelligent factories where manufacturing technologies are upgraded and transformed by Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and big data analytics with predictive monitoring features such as the ones that characterize Smart Structures [4]. One main element of the Industry 4.0 approach is the synergic use of embedded production technologies with intelligent production processes with positive and important modifications of the industrial values chains, production value chains, and business models. In the present work, developed in the frame of project of European Space Agency, possible scenarios of applications of the Industry 4.0 concepts are presented and discussed in terms of applicability and advantages for Satellite Manufacturing [10,17]. Particular focus will be given to development of a CPS, by establishing a control network of sensors (e.g. temperature, location, load) over a target MAIT process. © 2020 by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). Artificial intelligence is programmed to copy the cognitive functions of human beings. It introduces a paradigm shift to health care, enabled by the growing availability of health data and rapid developments in analytical technology. Pneumonia is a disease that affects life due to bacterial or viral infections of the lungs. It can be life-threatening if not made at the correct time, and it is therefore important to diagnose early pneumonia. It is also one of the most dangerous babies and children’s diseases, for people older than 65 and people with health conditions or poor immune systems. The paper introduces a distinctive approach between healthy and patient pneumonia and distinguishes them by presenting signals that help picture-based approaches for diagnostic diseases among viral pneumonia and bacterial pneumonia.

Simultaneously Transmitting and Reflecting Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Assisted NOMA Networks

Simultaneously transmitting/refracting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface (STAR-RIS) has been introduced to achieve full coverage area. This paper investigate the performance of STAR-RIS assisted non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks over Rician fading channels, where the incidence signals sent by base station are reflected and transmitted to the nearby user and distant user, respectively. To evaluate the performance of STAR-RIS-NOMA networks, we derive new approximate expressions of outage probability and ergodic rate for a pair of users, in which the imperfect successive interference cancellation (ipSIC) and perfect SIC (pSIC) schemes are taken into consideration. Based on the asymptotic expressions, the diversity orders of the nearby user with ipSIC/pSIC and distant user are achieved carefully. The high signal-to-noise ratio slopes of ergodic rates for nearby user with pSIC and distant user are equal to one and zero, respectively. In addition, the system throughput of STAR-RIS-NOMA is discussed in delay-limited and delay-tolerant modes. Simulation results are provided to verify the accuracy of the theoretical analyses and demonstrate that: 1) The outage probability of STAR-RIS-NOMA outperforms that of STAR-RIS assisted orthogonal multiple access (OMA) and conventional cooperative communication systems;2) With the increasing of reflecting elements K and Rician factor κ, the STAR-RIS-NOMA networks are capable of attaining the enhanced performance;and 3) The ergodic rates of STAR-RIS-NOMA are superior to that of STAR-RIS-OMA. In the sphere of medicine, IOT is meant to keep people safe and healthy plays a crucial part in communicating with doctors and patients through the use of health monitoring equipment and lowering healthcare costs in the future years. The internet of things (IoT) is making the world a smarter and more efficient village by allowing a variety of sensors and smart gadgets to gather and analyse data for a variety of reasons. As a result of these smart things, the healthcare system is growing wiser. When basic health facilities lack comprehensive medical care infrastructure, emerging countries gain. However, there is currently no specialized architecture for smart health units that can allow for this gathering and transferring patient health information to headquarters hospitals where live patient assistance is offered. Here, a smart IoT-based healthcare system is proposed, which includes a smart medical kit linked to sensors and a server for frequent health tracking. This smart medical kit is associated with sensors to measure the health parameters like body temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate for the effective function of the body. The proposed idea can alert the patient and their relatives in case of any abnormalities in their health parameters and also get suggestions from the doctor without physical contact with the doctor.
