Analysis and improvement of the management system on the example of the organization of the aerospace industry

This study has been carried out in the organization of the aerospace industry. The scientific literature has been analysed in the article. Article shows the relevance of ongoing research on the selected topic. It was noted that there is an insufficient attention of the heads of the organization to the workers occupational health and safety. Due to the analysis of the existing occupational safety and health management system, its significant shortcomings have been identified: the use of an ineffective method of analysis of occupational risks, as well as the development of measures only on the basis of accidents and occupational diseases (lagging indicators). To improve the efficiency of the occupational safety and health management system, it was proposed to switch to proactive indicators of safety culture. For the assessment of professional risks, the “Fine Kinney” professional risk assessment method was recommended and implemented. At the same time, in order to increase the efficiency of monitoring the labour conditions management system, an audit system has been introduced, and the levels of management in the organization have been revised. The study made it possible to increase the efficiency of the occupational safety and health management system of the organization significantly. It will reduce the level of industrial injuries.

This work presents a diagnosis method for detecting track circuits failures on a railway traffic line equipped with an Automatic Block Signalling installation. The diagnosis method uses the installation's electrical schemas, based on which a series of diagnosis charts have been created. Further, the diagnosis charts were used to develop a software package, CDCBla, which substantially contributes to reducing the diagnosis time and human error during failure remedies. The proposed method can also be used as a training package for the maintenance staff. Since the diagnosis method here does not need signal or measurement inputs, using it does not necessitate additional IT knowledge and can be deployed on a mobile computing device (tablet, smart phone). © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This work presents a diagnosis method for railway traffic security installations. More specifically, the authors present a series of diagnosis charts for passing signals on a railway block equipped with an automatic block signaling installation. These charts are based on the exploitation electric schemes, and are subsequently used to develop a diagnosis software package. The thus developed software package contributes substantially to a reduction of failure detection and remedy for these types of installation faults. The use of the software package eliminates making wrong decisions in the fault detection process, decisions that may result in longer remedy times and, sometimes, to railway traffic events. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Current recruiting processes are largely supported by diverse online solutions. Online application systems, virtual interviewing, and search for employees through professional social networks such as LinkedIn and XING have become common for both medium and large companies. Moreover, during the period after recession, i.e. 2009 to 2011, there was a trend towards customized e-Applications and social networks to satisfy the personnel recruiting requirements of specific industries and types of business. In this paper an analysis of e-Applications used for recruiting purposes is performed as well as for a cofounder search in the ICT-sector;emphasis is placed on the subsector of technology startups. © 2016 ACM.

Mobile business applications such as mobile shopping have experienced a major upswing in recent years. In order to respond appropriately to the high and still increasing demands of consumers, traders make use of mobile applications in many industries. In addition, as far as the trade of textiles is concerned, vendors use mobile shopping applications to increase their market opportunities and competitiveness. In this context, the authors formulate eight hypotheses and set up a research model for further analysis concerning consumer acceptance of mobile shopping, by using the textile goods market in Austria as an example. © 2015 ACM.

One major element in Concurrent Design is the central data model. It allows the various disciplines to share the latest information and to make immediate use of them within their domain specific tools and models. As a successor of the Integrated Design Model, in 2014 the European Space Agency (ESA) released the Open Concurrent Design Tool (OCDT), which aims to be the reference and standard model for European entities performing space system studies during early as well as later phases. This tool, including its web-based server and user interface supporting elements (such as MS Excel Add-ins), is developed in a way that it is not only limited to space system and mission design, but can be used also in other fields such as System-of-systems (SoS) architecture definition and evaluation, which is becoming an emerging topic for European and international collaborations. Instead of just looking at the technical aspects of a system, SoS-studies provide an opportunity to analyze how to share resources and assets amongst institutions, organizations or nations more efficiently and how to provide integrated and more advanced services. However, due to the different nature and rules of SoS, the OCDT requires certain adaptations regarding domain specific tool interfaces, dedicated data libraries, as well as a SoS-specific data flow and representations to the users. Several studies were performed on ESA’s side in advance, to prepare an initial set of requirements for such an evolution of the tools and processes which eventually led to a project called "Development and Validation of a Generic systems‐of‐systems Concurrent Engineering Model (CESoS)". It has been established by ESA and awarded to a consortium which has experience in Concurrent Design, software development and system architecture definitions. © 2015, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA. Businesses operating with ‘Immovables’ have always demanded high mobility from numerous protagonists within and across the real estate sector. Whereas recent developments of advanced cloud environments such as pervasive cloud and intercloud infrastructures are still in their infancy, their advancements appear to be supportive for this industry. Our contribution refers to the business with real estates as this sector shows several characteristics that predestine it as a showcase due to high and sustainable potential for value generation through clouds and cloud infrastructures. This paper analyses the use of various (types of) cloud applications in the field of real estate. It provides an insight into the structure of the real estate sector (life cycle, value chain, actors), into the state-of-the art of cloud applications, and reveals potential for further developments and unexplored segments of the real estate life cycle and/or value chain.
