Boron diketonates are prospective fluorescent dyes for functional organic materials with enhanced two-photon absorption lead to new technologies in the fields of chemistry, photonics and photobiology. The new NIR-to-NIR luminofors – curcuminoids of boron difluoride with different substituents at the central carbon atom (at the g-position) of the chelate ring 2,2-difluoro-4,6-(р-dimethylaminostyryl)-5-organil-1,3,2-dioxaborines (1-5) were synthesized. Luminescence in solutions, crystals and polymer matrices, photobiological properties and NLO properties in polystyrene (PS) and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) were studied. The crystal structure has been determined for 1. For 1-5, in PS film, upon excitation by laser (365 nm), two luminescence bands are observed in the blue (÷430 nm) and red (650-700 nm) regions of the spectrum. For 1-5, two-photon luminescence is recorded in PS and PMMA films. PS 1 films demonstrate high photostability: when modifying films with femtosecond laser radiation with a wavelength of 800 nm, the intensity of two-photon fluorescence of PMMA 1 films decreased significantly, while PS 1 films increased by almost one and a half *** synthesized dyes turned out to be almost non-toxic for HCT116 tumor cells both in a long-term dark experiment (72 hours) and after photoexcitation in accordance with absorption maxima in the submicromolar concentration range. The compounds were rapidly accumulated by cells within 3 hours, demonstrating cytoplasmic distribution and the potential for use as cellular photoimaging agents. © 2024, The Authors. The studies of electronic effects in reduced dimensionality have become a frontier in nanoscience due to exotic and highly tunable character of quantum phenomena. Recently, a new class of 2D ultrathin LnX2 metalloxenes composed of a triangular lattice of lanthanide ions (Ln) coupled with 2D-Xenes of silicene or germanene (X2) was introduced and studied with a particular focus on magnetic and transport properties. However, the electronic properties of metalloxenes and their effective functionalization remain mainly unexplored. Here, using a number of experimental and theoretical techniques, we trace the evolution of electronic properties and magnetic ground state of metalloxenes triggered by external perturbations. We demonstrate that the band structure of LnX2 films can be uniquely modified by controlling the Xenes stacking, thickness, varying the rare-earth and host elements, and applying an external electric field. Our findings suggest new pathways to manipulate the electronic properties of 2D rare-earth magnets that can be adjusted for spintronics applications. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Simulation of gasification of solid porous fuel in a low-temperature gas generator of ramjet

A low-temperature gas generator with a sequential arrangement of propellant and solid fuel for generating hydrocarbon gases is considered. The present work is devoted to the theoretical study of the regularities and mechanisms of gasification of solid porous fuel when hot gases with different fixed initial velocities pass through the fuel. The influence of the characteristics of solid fuel on the operating conditions of the gas generator has been investigated for polymethyl methacrylate, polyethylene, and hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene. The shortest gas generator operation time is observed for polymethyl methacrylate and the longest for polyethylene. The maximum mass flow of polymethyl methacrylate gasification products is observed for the minimum initial gas velocity.

A magnetic skyrmion induced on a ferromagnetic topological insulator (TI) is a real-space manifestation of the chiral spin texture in the momentum space, and can be a carrier for information processing by manipulating it in tailored structures. Here, we fabricate a sandwich structure containing two layers of a self-assembled ferromagnetic septuple-layer TI, Mn(Bi1-xSbx)2Te4 (MnBST), separated by quintuple layers of TI, (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 (BST), and observe skyrmions through the topological Hall effect in an intrinsic magnetic topological insulator for the first time. The thickness of BST spacer layer is crucial in controlling the coupling between the gapped topological surface states in the two MnBST layers to stabilize the skyrmion formation. The homogeneous, highly-ordered arrangement of the Mn atoms in the septuple-layer MnBST leads to a strong exchange interaction therein, which makes the skyrmions "soft magnetic". We demonstrated efficient crystallization of amorphous Si films induced by their direct irradiation with near-IR femtosecond laser pulses coming at sub-MHz repetition rate. Comprehensive analysis of morphology and composition of the laser-annealed film by atomic-force microscopy, Fourier-transform IR, Raman and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy as well as numerical modeling of optical spectra confirmed efficient crystallization of amorphous Si and high-quality of the obtained films opening pathway for applications in thin-film solar cells, transistors and displays. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

On modeling axisymmetric gas flows under heterogeneous combustion in porous media

In this work, the problem of axisymmetric gas flows through porous object with heterogeneous combustion sources under natural convection is considered. Heterogeneous combustion is a combustion which occurs when fuel and oxidizer are in different phases. The numerical approach based on combination of explicit and implicit finite-difference schemes is suggested for investigating these processes. It is shown that the location of ignition zone effects on process of propagating the combustion waves. For the axisymmetric case, as well as for the plane case, under natural convection vortex gas flows are observed near the combustion zone. This vortex flows effect on flow of oxidizer into the reaction zone. As in the plane case, the solid combustible component burns out completely, but the direction of the combustion wave propagation in the axisymmetric case can differ from the plane case.

A theoretical study of the quality and the validity range of different numerical and analytical methods of calculating of the frequency shift in measurement using microcromechanical sensor is presented. This work considered a calculating method for natural frequency in comparison with experimentally measured oscillation frequencies of microcromechanical sensor immersed in air and/or viscous medium. In this paper, we present a reverse conversion from a two-stage Residue Number System (RNS) to a Binary Number System (BNS) with a special set of level 1 modules {2 a1, 2 a2 - 1, ..., 2an - 1} and level 2 modules {2 ß1, 2 ß2 - 1, ..., 2 ß k - 1}. The proposed method is based on the Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) with fractions and using a calculation method that uses constant multiplications to speed up calculations. This article discusses the simulation of FPGA reverse conversion to a two-stage RNS using the proposed method and the standard CRT using adders, their comparison of latency and hardware costs. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

We investigate the electronic and spin structure of Pb atomic chains on a Si(100)−2×1 surface using first-principles calculations. We revealed that the electronic spectra of linear dimerized Pb chains with orientations perpendicular and parallel to the Si dimers are characterized by one-dimensional large Rashba spin splitting providing exclusive spin polarization of the carriers that makes these systems suitable for studying the spin-transport phenomena and realizing a tunable spin current. A buckled dimerized Pb chain with a parallel orientation was predicted to be an insulating Rashba system with a vortical spin texture and asymmetric charge distribution. In this paper we trace the origin of Rashba band anisotropy and its interplay with chain geometry. The Rashba parameters of the considered chains are compared with other well-known systems.
