Kedungwaru Village is a village in Karangsambung Subdistrict located at 109 ° 37'30 "- 109 ° 45'00" BT and 7 ° 30'00 '- 7 ° 37'30' 'LS. In the long dry season that occurs in the first half of 2018, residents in several areas of Kedungwaru Village complain of drought. Aquifers are a layer of water that can be used as a water source. The study was conducted using a single channel geoelectric instrument with the Vertical Electrical Sounding method with the aim to determine the distribution of aquifers based on the depth and thickness of the aquifer. The depth and thickness of aquifer data are then interpolated using IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted) method to produce depth maps and isopach maps. The results showed that there were two types of aquifers in Kedungwaru Village, namely unconfined aquifers and confined aquifers. The unconfined aquifer located at a depth of 1-3 m from the surface with a thickness varying up to 22 m, while the confined aquifer is at a depth of 13-30 m from the surface with thicknesses varying up to 20 m.

The mine drainage system can be a complicated process, although it has been done a lot of time. It depends on the conditions of the location and requirements of the dig with the purpose to get into the mine are not interfering with mining activity. This paper investigates and analyzes the costs of mine water management at the Pit B of PT Darma Henwa Bengalon site, using the variable costing method. Based on the study result, it founds that the cost of forming an open channel with the geometry of the upper width = 5.17 m, lower width = 2.6 m, channel height = 2.24 m, sloping channel length = 2.57 m, is Rp 36,808,096. The cost to make the Panels 1 and 2, Panels 2 and 4, and the Panel 3 Sumps that use PC1250 and HD465 are Rp 3,920,833,504. The costs for investment, the installation of pipes and pumps, and an operational cost at the beginning of mine dewatering is Rp 63,426,709,520. In the form of open channel cost sump formation, and pumping cost consists of components in the form of employee salaries, asset equipment costs, material costs, and indirect costs. Decision making with pump investment is more profitable than the rental concept because the mine life is over five years, but if the mine life is less than five years, the concept of rental is recommended.

Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources, especially gold resources. Gold mining in Indonesia is commonly using open pit and underground mining system. Although underground mining is not directly connected with weather and rainfall, that does not make an underground mining free of mine dewatering system's problem. The problems that may be occurred in the working front area of an underground mine are the high of the total head that has to be lifted by a pump, dimension of the mine channel and sump that small due to limited space of the tunnel, and flood. Flooding in a tunnel commonly caused by groundwater on the tunnel's surroundings. An accurate calculation of groundwater inflow into the tunnel is important to design the underground mine dewatering system. Measurement of actual groundwater inflow had been done to prove the accuracy of groundwater inflow's calculation using an analytical solution by El Tani method. This paper presents the alternative of the groundwaters seepage calculation those flows into the tunnel. The result of this research is the groundwater inflow can be predicted using an analytical solution accurately so that the design of the underground mine dewatering system can be held precisely.

Modal choice analysis between cycling and walking of tourist areas in Surakarta

Transport-related air pollution has become one of the most serious issues that are now of mutual concern. An effort that can be done to reduce the impact of environmental pollution is to intensify the use of non-motorized transportation as well as bicycles. Surakarta city is considered to have great potential to apply the concept of bike sharing in order to realize environmentally friendly transportation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to obtain a model that can explain the probability of choosing a bicycle mode compared to walking. The research was conducted around the location of Pasar Gede, Benteng Vastenburg, Alun-alun Lor, Keraton Surakarta and Alun-alun Kidul. Data were collected through interviews with the Stated Preference method on 230 respondents. The variables were travel time and cost to bicycle mode and walking. Based on the analysis and discussion, the probability model of the choice of bicycle rental in each distance is acquired. The results of the analysis show that the highest probability of bicycle rental occurs when the conditions of walking time are quite long and the bicycle travel time is normal. The lowest probability occurs when the conditions of walking time are normal and the bicycle travel time is relatively long. Both conditions occur in the bicycle rental rate of Rp.4,000/30 minutes.

The influence of freight transportation on road network performance in Surakarta

One of the serious transportation issues is congestion since it can cause derivative problems in human’s life, such as pollution and economic losses. Congestion occurs when the road capacity is less capable to handle the traffic volume. Surakarta City is surrounded by Boyolali Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, and Karanganyar Regency. It makes a lot of freight transportation from outside of Surakarta city, which ultimately increases the traffic volume. The objective of this research was to estimate the origin-destination (OD) matrix, and to find out the road network performance in Surakarta City due to freight transportation as represented by traffic volume per capacity (V/C). Gravity model was used for estimating the O-D matrix. The value of parameter β as a function of deterrence function was found out by using maximum entropy method. The parameter β obtained was 0.081067. Subsequently, validity test was done using the coefficient of determination (R2) which represented the comparison of traffic flow from observation (traffic count) and from model was 0.831631. The process of trip assignment utilized EMME/3 software. The result showed the values of V/C in 2017, in which approximately 90.54% of roads in Surakarta City are in stable while 9.46% are in unstable condition (V/C>0.8). However, the absence of freight transportation will maintain 100% roads in the stable condition.

The origin-destination matrix for freight transportation with Bayesian inference method

Transportation is one of the basic needs of a city in the effort to improve the welfare of its citizens. The presence of transactions and trades in freight system positions transportation as an important component in regional economic development. Surakarta region has a vital role in the economic growth of Central Java Province with the support from surrounding regencies, such as Karanganyar, Boyolali, Sukoharjo, Wonogiri and Klaten. The objective of this research was to estimate the Origin-Destination (O-D) Matrix for freight transportation in Surakarta. This study covered the area of Surakarta including the connections of the area with the major external freight trading zones. By estimating the β parameter, which is the detterence function of Gravity Model, and using the approach of Bayesian Inference, the results showed the total freight trip obtained from the O-D matrix in 2017 was 1788.2 PCU/hour. The value of β from Bayesian Inference approach was 0.00807. The proposed approach has good validity as shown by the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.81.

Study benefit value of utilization water resources for energy and sustainable environment

Referring to the concept of sustainable development, the environment is said to be sustainable if the fulfillment of three pillars of development that is economic, social and ecological or the environment itself. The environment can sustained in the principle of ecology or basic principles of environmental science, when the three environmental components, namely the natural environment, the artificial environment (the built environment) and the social environment can be aligned for sustainability. The natural environment in this study is the water resources, the artificial environment is micro hydroelectric power generation (MHPG), and the social environment is the community living around the MHPG. The existence of MHPG is intended for the sustainability of special electrical energy for areas not yet reached by electricity derived from the state electricity company (SEC). The utilization of MHPG Singalaga in South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKUS) district is not only intended for economic, ecological, and social sustainability in Southern OKU district especially those who live in Singalaga Village, Kisam Tinggi District. This paper discusses the economic, ecological and social benefits of water resources utilization in Southern OKU District for MHPG Singalaga. The direct economic benefits that arise for people living around MHPG Singalaga is the cost incurred by the community for the use of electricity is less than if the community uses electricity coming from outside the MHPG. The cost to society in the form of dues amounting to IDR 15,000 a month / household. Social benefits with the absorption of manpower to manage the MHPG is chairman, secretary and 3 members, while the ecological benefits of water resources and sustainable energy as well as the community while maintaining the natural vegetation that is located around the MHPG for the continuity of water resources.
