The SkySat bus is a high-resolution constellation imaging satellite operating in a Low Earth Orbit. The satellite mission is to image the Earth. The SkySat constellation satellite with a total of 15 satellites has been launched since 2012 producing high multispectral spatial resolution up to 2 m and capable of producing high temporal resolution with revisit time at the same location three times a day. The issue of increasing spatial and temporal resolution with an acquisition mode with a wider swath width, allowing image data to be obtained more quickly with a wider coverage area in a single path is important in meeting the needs of high-resolution optical satellite data in Indonesia. LAPAN as a provider of high-resolution optical satellite data has an interest in acquiring this satellite data. LAPAN has two main antennas in Parepare south Sulawesi. This paper tests the ability of the ground station antenna to receive SkySat satellite data using the existing Zodiac and Viasat antenna. The result is to get the minimum antenna angle when receiving satellite data.

ABSTRACTABSTRACTThis study applied the three-cornered hat method to the error variance estimations of temperature profiles retrieved from the Geosynchronous Interferometric Infrared Sounder (GIIRS), the first hyperspectral infrared sounder onboard Fengyun-4A (FY-4A) geostationary satellite. An accurate observational error is a crucial input parameter for FY-4A temperature profile assimilation. Using multiple data sets from 2020, this study examined the error variances of FY-4A temperature profiles in clear-sky and cloudy-sky respectively. Because of the effects of clouds on GIIRS, the error variances in cloudy-sky are much larger than in clear-sky. Provided that error variances less than 4K2are significant for data assimilation, the FY-4A temperature profiles in clear-sky from 900 to 150 hPa are meaningful to be assimilated. Results reveal that the latitudinal dependency of error variances is strong at 100 hPa. Encouraged by the vertical distributions of the temperature profile differences between FY-4A and other data sets, the error variance of total potential energy is also examined in this study. Although the detailed structures of temperature profiles are removed, the vertical integration obtains a more minor percentage error. Further studies on data assimilation are worth discussing if total potential energy is more meaningful than the FY-4A temperature profiles.RÉSUMÉLa présente étude a appliqué la méthode du chapeau à trois angles aux estimations de la variance d’erreur des profils de température récupérés par le sondeur infrarouge interférométrique géosynchrone (GIIRS), le premier sondeur infrarouge hyperspectral à bord du satellite géostationnaire Fengyun-4A (FY-4A). The Covid-19 outbreak has hit various countries. Indonesia is one of the countries that is hit by COVID-19. One of the media for transmitting this virus is through equipment that we use alternately. In performing the repairing and troubleshooting hardware an engineer uses the tools alternately. To reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus, a device that can disinfect easily and efficiently is needed. Ultraviolet-C (UVC) rays have long been using to kill viruses and bacteria. This study aims to design a UV box control system as a sterilization medium. In this study, a disinfectant device was made using a glass material using ultraviolet-C light. Ultraviolet C rays can damage the skin and eyes. To avoid physical contact, control this device using Bluetooth wireless. The design of the UV box control system consists of 2 stages, namely, designing the hardware and software. The design is easy to use and can be applied in all business processes.

Study on the time of flight optical ranging by using direct modulation of the laser diode

Optical ranging is now an interested method that has been implemented in various purposes such as lidar, remote sensing, communication, and metrology. In our paper, we investigate the effect on the direct modulation signal of laser diode that is applied on time of flight (ToF) optical ranging. Our main system comprises a laser diode, a function generator, and a photodetector. The intensity of laser diode is sinusoidally modulated by varying injected current produced by a function generator. In order to evaluate a ranging measurement, a modulated optical signal is captured by using a photodetector and compared with a reference signal from function generator. To study the effect on the direct modulation of laser diode, we employ two types of laser diode with different wavelengths and optical power. Besides, varying amplitude and frequency of modulating signal are also performed to understand the characteristics of a modulated signal. Then, we implement our system in ranging applications by measuring a phase shift between a modulated signal and a reference signal. The results show that the amplitude and frequency of modulating signal, as well as the optical power of laser diode should be considered in order to achieve the desired performance in design laser optical ranging applications.

S-band frequency is often used for satellite TTC, data downlinks, and other two-way communication. Today, the frequency used on the Parepare remote sensing Ground Station is the X-Band frequency. By seeing its trend, the S- Band frequency is likely to be used at a remote sensing ground station. Because of that, the measurement of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) is made. Besides being used as a satellite TTC, the S-Band frequency is also used as a cellular network frequency, especially 3G networks and commercial satellites. Gain to Noise ratio calculation at S-Band frequency with 7.3meter diameter Antenna was also performed. This calculation is performed as a feasibility analysis for antennas receiving S-Band frequency signals.

Often network science with complex networks as its basic entity has attracted scientific societies with their diverse practical capacities. Some entities (objects, processes, and data) having their built-in web nature might be considered as networks seamlessly. Contrary, network mapping for Network-Unlike data (NUD), i.e. images and time series, is extremely complicated and manifold, so that explorers face with a tough problem which converting algorithm they should apply. We put in central focus separating data properties in line with their scale diversity-in distance, time, and nature and suggested a three step algorithm (scale-based one) to map NUD into complex networks. The algorithm was applied to networkalize two types of geographic maps of Olkhon district, Baikal Natural Territory, Irkutsk region, Russian Federation. It was underlined that the algorithm models coarse-graining and area-like linking and forms thoroughly output structures of really complex topologies with intrinsic scale-free and small world properties. In addition to simple examples transformation of NUD into multiplex networks is considered as a promising approach to study more complex systems of the real world. Networkalization concerned challenges in extracting the pertinent information from huge data resources conveyed by a network imprint for each file is also discussed. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Geographic Information Discipline serves as a critical pillar driving continuous innovation in Earth system science, geography, smart cities, and ecological conservation. Against the backdrop of intensified global environmental changes and diversified societal demands, this discipline faces a dual-challenge of theoretical innovation and technological breakthrough. This paper analyzes geographic information discipline from three perspectives: disciplinary demands, development strategies, and frontier challenges. In terms of disciplinary demands, we explores the requirements of Earth system science for multi-source data integration, dynamic model construction, and cross-scale analysis, as well as the evolving trends of geography within the framework of the ternary world (i.e., physical, human, and information). Regarding development strategies, we proposes strategic pathways from a multidisciplinary perspective encompassing information science, information geography, and geolinguistics. These include advancing the discipline through geographic language development, multi-modal representation, virtual-real integration, and the establishment of a universal language framework. Meanwhile, the paper addresses current theoretical and technical bottlenecks, such as insufficient modeling of information world, limited capacity for high-dimensional dynamic data processing, and the technical demand for real-time 3D scene representation. We emphasizes that under the globalization and digital transformation, geoinformatics is undergoing a comprehensive leap from the physical-human duality to the physical-human-information triad by integrating theories from information science, geography, and cognitive science. Satellite imagery catalog system is developed for the user’s need regarding with the utilization of satellite imagery for various applications. The aim of the system development is the dissemination of data, particularly at the national scope. The system has been established and continuously operated until recently. In order to maintain the customer loyalty and to raise customer satisfaction, the system improvement is required. Based on user requirement analysis, the system should be improved in terms of three factors, i.e. transaction time, product derivations, and additional data processing service. The existing business process will be analyzed by adopting the system improvement. The process is categorized as business process improvement. The new version of business processes will be operated in the catalog system by applying the developed information system methods. Various methods classified as organizational-approach were analyzed in this research, and the most suitable method for improving the system is process innovation method, considering the urgent user need for regional development planning and rapid development of satellite imagery technology. The objective of this research was the improvement of satellite image catalog system by using the most suitable process innovation method for the case study. The expected result is to increase the time efficiency of satellite image data service and its processing.

The Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS) has become a cornerstone of extragalactic astronomy. Since the last public catalog in 2015, a wealth of new imaging and spectroscopic data has been collected in the COSMOS field. This paper describes the collection, processing, and analysis of this new imaging data to produce a new reference photometric redshift catalog. Source detection and multi-wavelength photometry is performed for 1.7 million sources across the 2 deg2 of the COSMOS field, ∼966 000 of which are measured with all available broad-band data using both traditional aperture photometric methods and a new profile-fitting photometric extraction tool, The Farmer, which we have developed. A detailed comparison of the two resulting photometric catalogs is presented. Photometric redshifts are computed for all sources in each catalog utilizing two independent photometric redshift codes. Finally, a comparison is made between the performance of the photometric methodologies and of the redshift codes to demonstrate an exceptional degree of self-consistency in the resulting photometric redshifts.
