A method to obtain the optical constants of low loss materials in a wide frequency range was proposed based on the measured transmission data from THz-TDS and FTIR. With anchoring phase points from TDS, the phase spectrum lost in FTIR original data was successfully retrieved and the complex refractive index was acquired with standard iterative method (Nelder-Mead and Newton-Raphson). As an example, the refractive index and extinction coefficient of HRSi were extracted from 0.5 to 10 THz with both iterative method and analytic formula. Good agreement between TDS and FTIR results in the overlapped frequency range was realized.

Terahertz field effect transistors (TeraFETs) based on AlGaN/GaN materials have high responsivity and sensitivity at room temperature. Based on the hydrodynamic equations, the nonlinear voltage response (transient and steady-state) of this type of THz detector was numerically calculated by finite difference method under THz excitation with different frequencies and intensities. Comparisons with the existing analytical formula and the analysis of the influence of viscosity coefficient on the response were also presented.

Power exchange between vehicle and grid by bidirectional inductive power transfer (BIPT) system. This paper proposes a dual-side three-stage asymmetrical phase shift (TAPS) control strategy to achieve a high transmission efficiency with zero voltage switching (ZVS) in a wide range of load. With the proposed dual-side TAPS strategy, asymmetrically adjust the amplitude of the ac fundamental excitation voltage with three adjacent control periods as a waveform period. A wide ZVS range and a high system power factor can be realized simultaneously. In addition, when the load is light, the number of switching actions is significantly reduced. The control scheme for the full bridge of both sides is presented, which realizes both optimization of transmission efficiency and zero-voltage switching operation for all power switches. Simulation are performed to compare the effects of triple-phase-shift (TPS) strategy and proposed TAPS strategy on the transmission efficiency, which shows that the system with proposed TAPS control strategy realizes a higher transmission efficiency in a wide range of load.

Inverter interfaced distributed generator (IIDG) is connected to the distribution network in the form of T-connected, which changes the operating characteristics of single power flow direction in the traditional distribution network, and makes the traditional three-stage current protection no longer applicable. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved longitudinal protection method for T-connected inverter distributed power distribution networks. The control strategy of IIDG is analyzed, and the analysis method in a distribution network is given. On this basis, an improved criterion of longitudinal protection is proposed. The proposed criterion can sensitively identify internal and external faults that is not affected by DGs. Simulation results of PSCAD verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The multiphase series-end winding motor drive receives attention due to its low cost, complete control freedoms and abundant winding connection selections. Different winding series combination will cause huge performance diversity in voltage utilization or bridge current stress. The most widely used solutions now possess excellent voltage utilization, but the same high current stress will limit its application that are more sensitive to current. This paper proposes an optimal winding connection sequence to get the theoretically lowest bridge current stress of odd-phase series-end winding topology. The operation of silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductor devices under high ambient temperature requires high temperature gate drivers adjacent to the devices. This paper presents a three-phase isolated gate driver circuit suitable for HybridPACK Drive (HP Drive) power modules with operating ambient temperature up to 175°C. First, an overall introduction of the gate driver structure and layout design method for reducing thermal coupling are presented. Second, detailed designs are presented in the form of sub-circuits such as desaturation protection circuit, isolated power supply, active Miller clamp, undervoltage lockout and so on. Finally, the proposed gate driver design is validated through double pulse test, continuous full-load operation under 145°C and continuous light-load test under 175°C. Comprehensive performance evaluation of proposed high temperature gate driver is presented.

For the Inverter-Interfaced Distributed Generator (IIDG) access system, a ground fault occurred on the 110 kV contact line, and the zero-sequence current distribution on both sides of the line was analyzed by combining the characteristics of the controlled current source of the IIDG after the fault, the relationship between the sequence quantities, the neutral grounding method of the transformer and the access capacity of the IIDG. Factors. The analysis points out that the IIDG access side transformer neutral grounding mode determines the zero sequences current distribution on both sides of the line; when the system side circuit breaker is disconnected, the IIDG access capacity mainly affects the zero sequences current distribution, and the local load power level has a small effect on the zero sequence current distribution. The correctness of the theoretical analysis is verified by PSCAD/EMTDC software simulation.
