Prompt photon production in sNN=2.76-TeV Pb+Pb collisions has been measured by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider using data collected in 2.11 with an integrated luminosity of 0.14 nb−1. Inclusive photon yields, scaled by the mean nuclear thickness function, are presented as a function of collision centrality and transverse momentum in two pseudorapidity intervals, |η|<1.37 and 1.52.|η|<2.37. The scaled yields in the two pseudorapidity intervals, as well as the ratios of the forward yields to those at midrapidity, are compared to the expectations from next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD (pQCD) calculations. The measured cross sections agree well with the predictions for proton-proton collisions within statistical and systematic uncertainties. Both the yields and the ratios are also compared to two other pQCD calculations, one which uses the isospin content appropriate to colliding lead nuclei and another which includes nuclear modifications to the nucleon parton distribution functions.

According to Shanno's information theory,the directional feature of texture is defined as the value of directional variable when an image signal attains a singularity of random *** terms of this definition,we calculate the texture's directional features using Tamura's method and study the directional probability distribution of Contourlet *** we find that the directional features tend to be conveyed across parent and child *** on this conclusion,we establish a novel probability distribution model of hidden direction variables under the condition of hidden state variable's distribution,named Contourlet HMT model with directional *** structure and training method of the model are presented as ***,an unsupervised context-based image segmentation algorithm is proposed on the basis of the proposed *** effectiveness is verified via extensive experiments carried out on several synthesized images and remote sensing images.

Answer set programming (ASP) has become an important tool for knowledge representation and reasoning. Inconsistency processing in ASP provides a way for reasoning of inconsistent knowledge. In this paper, we present a minimal principle based method to process inconsistency in ASP. The method is able to ensure maximum retention of certain knowledge by removing the fewest defeasible rules preferentially. Then, we propose corresponding algorithms for simple logic programs and extended logic programs, and analyze the complexity of our method. After that, we compare this method with related work. Finally, we conclude and indicate the prospect of the further research.

Despite the growing number of works centering around the traffic dynamics on complex networks,these researches still have some common shortcomings,e.g.,too simple traffic flow model and lack of considerations for the designing cost and scalability *** paper builds on a more realistic traffic flow model,and offers a holistic view on the network designing *** addition to the extensively studied transmission capacity,this paper takes designing cost and scalability as two other designing objectives,and presents a quantitative study of how different designing choices independently and collectively influence these objectives by the introduction of a cartesian coordinate *** is shown that different kinds of network topologies display different shapes of achievable solution spaces and exhibit different abilities to achieve cost-effective and scalable *** particular,we find the philosophy underlying empirical network designing and engineering today fails to meet the cost-effective and scalable designing requirements,and propose a cost-effective and scalable designing scheme for BA-like networks,i.e.,the efficient routing combined with effective betweenness based link bandwidth *** addition,when designing a thoroughly new network from the beginning,we find that ER network is a good candidate to achieve cost-effective and scalable designing in most settings.

We introduce a new logic programming paradigm-answer set programming with uncertain facts (LPuF for short). A LPuF program is an extension of answer set programs (ASP for short). We first define the syntax of LPuF programs. Then, we propose preferred query semantics and preferred solution semantics of LPuF programs to address the issues of personal preference-dependent query generation and solution ranking in recommendation systems. Those semantics are based on the answer set semantics of logic programs. Correspondingly, we then present two algorithms which are used for computing preferred queries and preferred solutions respectively. Finally, we conclude the paper and present future works. © 2.12.IEEE.

Warped Discrete Fourier Transform (WDFT) is able to increase frequency resolution at any selected parts of spectral axis without extending the number of sampling points. However, in ordinary WDFT synthesis block, inverse WDFT is imperfectly approximated since the WDFT related matrices are ill-conditioned. In this paper, we propose an innovative WDFT algorithm based on matching pursuit where an overcomplete set consisting of a series of complex exponent basis signals is constructed in order to minimize reconstruction error. The process is performed solely in the warped spectrum domain. The proposed algorithm is evaluated with speech signal reconstruction and used in whispered speech enhancement system. The experimental results show that signal can be perfectly synthesized without matrix inversion and the warped spectrum extracted using the proposed WDFT algorithm outperforms DFT and conventional WDFT based spectrum in whispered speech intelligibility enhancement. © 2.12.ISSN 2.85-2.66.

To explore the association relations among disease, pathogenesis, physician, symptoms and drug, we adapt a variational Apriori algorithm for discovering association rules on a dataset of the Qing Court Medical Records. There are five types of semantic associations we intend to discover, including Disease-Pathogenesis-Drug set(DPaD), Disease-Symptoms-Drug set (DSyD), Disease-Drug set (DD), Disease-Physician-Drug set (DPhD) and Disease-Drug Category Set (DDC). To solve the synonymity problem and the data sparseness problem, we give a mapping strategy which maps pathogenesis to standardized forms and maps drugs to drug categories. With the mapping strategy the number of frequent drug sets rises from 2.7 to 1184. The experimental results indicate that our method with the mapping strategy is an effective way to acquire valuable semantic association rules. © 2.12.IEEE.

Improved MFCC feature extraction combining symmetric ICA algorithm for robust speech recognition

Independent component analysis (ICA), instead of the traditional discrete cosine transform (DCT), is often used to project log Mel spectrum in robust speech feature extraction. The paper proposed using symmetric orthogonalization in ICA for projecting log Mel spectrum into a new feature space as a substitute in extracting speech features to solve the problem of cumulative error and unequal weights that deflation orthogonalization brings, so as to improve the robustness of speech recognition systems, and increase the efficiency of estimation at the same time. Furthermore, the paper studied the nonlinearities of the objective function in ICA and their coefficients, tested them in all kinds of environments, finding that they influenced the recognition rate greatly in speech recognition systems, and applied a new coefficient in the proposed method. Experiments based on HMM and Aurora-2.speech corpus suggested that the new method was superior to deflation- based ICA and MFCC. © 2.12.ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

Image segmentation evaluation is still a hotspot problem. Various methods of image segmentation evaluation have been proposed. Amongst all the evaluation approaches, Segmentation Entropy Quantitative Assessment (SEQA) is one of the most popular methods. In this paper, segmentation entropy is proposed. In experiments, some standard images which are segmented by multi-level thresholds are tested and used to conclude the characteristics of SEQA, including its application conditions, advantages and disadvantages in image segmentation evaluation.
