The article presents an analysis of the optimal criterion. The role and significance of certain properties of fuzzy logic in predictive analytics of technical systems to support the functioning of the optimal level of production processes are considered. The role of calculation of the degree of inclusion of fuzzy sets is justified by the example of transfer characteristic functions in the generalized case. The author's research on the optimization value of the investigated mathematical apparatus is presented on the example of the synthesis of the industrial Internet of Things system within the framework of the model of automatic control of the air temperature in the greenhouse.

Singular Value-based damage statistics for guided wave Structural Health monitoring

Guided wave structural health monitoring is used to inspect large structures with ultrasonic waves. To detect damage, statistics are typically computed from raw guided wave responses. Many current detection methods use single-signal statistics and batch statistics [1]. Single-signal statistics are derived from a single measurement while batch statistics originate from time histories. Singular value decomposition (a batch approach) compared singular vectors with a step function to identify rapid changes in the data (such as damage). While effective, this approach is time consuming and computationally expensive. In this paper, we study two damage statistics derived from singular values, rather than singular vectors, that reduce computationally complexity. We refer to these statistics as normalized singular statistics and Anderson statistics. As a preliminary statistical study, Monte Carlo simulations were used to create guided wave data with random white, Gaussian noise. We demonstrate that that the Anderson statistic is has greater consistency as measurements are added, robustness to noise, and damage sensitivity.

Performance analysis of heterogeneous database management system (DBMS) synchronization using message digest 5

Currently, the Database Management System (DBMS) keeps growing and is available on various platforms. The use of various types of DBMS in a system can cause problems with limitations in the synchronization process because each DBMS only provides synchronization methods for similar DMBS. Previous research has examined heterogeneous database synchronization algorithms on mobile devices using the Message Digest 5 (MD5) method. The process of synchronization with this method is done by comparing the hash values of each record data in the source table with the data hash values in the destination table. If a different hash value is obtained, the synchronization process is based on the type of transaction that has been determined. Based on the principle of work, this algorithm requires a long synchronization time for large-scale databases because it has to check the hash values of each data record. This study examined the performance analysis of the DBMS synchronization method using MD5. The testing was performed by observing the parameters of execution time of synchronization ptocess for the MySQL DBMS and PostgreSQL types. The results showed that the execution time of the MD5 synchronization process was proportional to the number of data records that need to be synchronized. This is because the hashing process that must be done on every data record and synchronization mechanism requires all data to be sent to check and compare the hash values of each data record in the destination synchronization database even though the data has not changed.

The SCIP Optimization Suite provides a collection of software packages for mathematical optimization centered around the constraint integer programming framework SCIP. This paper discusses enhancements and extensions contained in version 8.0 of the SCIP Optimization Suite. Major updates in SCIP include improvements in symmetry handling and decomposition algorithms, new cutting planes, a new plugin type for cut selection, and a complete rework of the way nonlinear constraints are handled. Additionally, SCIP 8.0 now supports interfaces for Julia as well as Matlab. Fifth-generation (5G) forums in ASEAN countries have proposed lower frequency bands for 5G applications at 4.5 – 5.5 GHz and also the fixed-satellite service (FSS) has realised 3.3 – 3.8 GHz in C-band for 5G cellular communication recently, which leads the necessity of proposing antennas for the particular bands. In this paper, a compact ultra-wideband (UWB) patch antenna with dual band-notched characteristics has been proposed for lower 5G bands. The UWB has been achieved with a partial ground plane and further two notched 5G bands have been obtained with a rectangular slot on the patch and by connecting an arc shape open loop (ASOL) on top of the patch. The antenna has achieved a wide – 10 dB bandwidth of around 12.4 GHz (2.91 – 15.3 GHz) and VSWR < 2 except for two notched lower 5G bands of 3.3 – 4.2 GHz and 4.5 – 5.5 GHz. Besides, the proposed antenna has achieved a peak radiation efficiency of more than 80 % for UWB, while at the notched bands as low as 40%. Moreover, the proposed antenna is compact with a dimension of 29×23 mm2 that makes it suitable for lower 5G bands application.

Problem solving process for heat and mass transfer modeling

Normally in engineering, conceptual models provide formal model of the system. Mathematical modeling gives the systematic representation in terms of properties. Modeling process is performed by using design space analysis and mathematical equations and this can be performed with different design alternatives. Conceptual analysis of natural convection is described. In this paper the modeling of heat and mass transfer is performed with the concepts of heat and mass transfer and properties of objects in the design space. Numerical solution has been conducted for energy equation with different boundary conditions. The present work analyses the heat and mass transfer modeling process with mathematical equations.

Atomistic investigation of diffusion welding of dissimilar materials through molecular dynamics simulation

Molecular dynamics simulation of diffusion welding between aluminum and nickel has been performed and the tensile behavior of the as-welded material has been examined. Two slabs Al-Ni are being contacted directly to introduce diffusion between the two with certain parameters. Diffusion welding was performed at a temperature of 500 K, at the pressure of 10 MPa in the x-direction, and a holding time of 200 ps. The tensile test is performed at a strain value of 2.64e9/s. The results have shown that the displacement of atoms during diffusion welding significantly occurs from the beginning until it reaches about 10 ps. However, the movement of atoms experiencing a plateau stage and less atomic exchange is occurring afterward. nickel slab that has a better strength was able to maintain its fcc crystalline structure during diffusion welding and tensile test than aluminum which has lower strength. The higher melting point of Ni promoting better resistance in the interface to be deformed, while the lower melting point of Al has been promoting better bonding between the two that is promoted by the defects that occur at the interface. During the tensile test, the lower strength of Al made it randomly deformed and crack seems to occur. However, failure of the diffusion-welded Al-Ni has occurred around the interface. The ultimate tensile strength of the diffusion-welded Al-Ni reaches up to 4.166 GPa at a strain value of 0.07128.

It is fairly obvious that we live in a toxic world and our brains are poisoned continuously, and this constant low level of exposure over time is slowly damaging our neurons and brain cells. The worse news is that this harmful toxic environment is not going to stop anytime in the foreseeable future and environmental toxins are a leading cause of neurological illnesses. It is also well established that oxidative stress contributes to various diseases including diabetes, heart disease, inflammatory conditions, high blood pressure, and neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It is therefore inevitable that exposure to such conditions including heavy metals, EMF radiation, bacteria and viruses will require a strong immune system to defeat such harmful toxins, and that almost 80 percent of the immune system is located in the gut. The main causes of neurological diseases are already known and the standard drug treatments (e.g., Aricept and Namenda for Alzheimer’s) slow the progression of such terrible diseases, but they do not address the root cause of memory loss. Glutathione is known as body’s master antioxidant being effective against oxidative stress and inflammation. Along with other natural antioxidants in the body, it works to defeat the harmful effects of free radicals which cause damage to cells and tissue leading to various health conditions. In this review, the main factors, including environmental toxins, causing neurological illnesses like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, and natural ways of prevention and treatment protocols have been discussed. The proposed treatment protocol could be lifesaving and is supported by the extensively published literature.

Underwater channel characterization for shallow water multi-domain communications

The underwater acoustic channel is a difficult communication medium due to its variable link quality which depends on location, time and the *** paper reports on underwater channel characterization for shallow water (< 100 m) in the Atlantic offshore of Halifax, Canada. The underwater channel characteristics drives the level of multi-domain robot collaboration possible to characterize a floating target both above- and below-water. RF communications is used between the topside unmanned surface vehicle and unmanned aerial vehicle. Underwater, acoustic modems are used between the submerged part of the unmanned surface vehicle and the unmanned underwater vehicles. The outcome is a multi-domain picture of the floating target from the sensors on these collaborating *** deployment, simulations were performed with a tool that integrates BELLHOP and newly developed complementary analysis capabilities in a MATLAB framework to determine operational ranges from range-dependent attenuation. The main contributions are an underwater acoustic environment-informed approach to placing mobile communicating nodes in a network, the network’s range predictions, channel analysis and a user-friendly GUI to manage the BELLHOP inputs and outputs. The approach and tools are validated in simulations and verified in-water. Transmission losses (TL) and underwater channel characteristics for illustrative cases are presented.
