Aquaponic Cultivation Technology can be done inside the house or outside the home, this cultivation also produces plants and fish that can be used by the community with urban farming on local food. Aquaponic system fish farming is a culture system that can save land use and increase the efficiency of nutrient utilization from the rest of the feed and fish metabolism. The purpose is to design water temperature sensors on aeroponics and to test temperature sensors by validating others.. The design of an early warning system application due to a landslide there are several stages, namely: first, Designing a DS18B20 sensor on acuponics. Second, Testing the DS18B20. The measurement results will be stored on the scratchpad and read by the device. This sensor can measure temperatures in the range 0 ° -50 ℃. Microcontroller functions as an electronic circuit controller and stores the program in it. Microcontroller is called a single chip because the microcontroller has a memory and I / O devices. The test was carried out using a container containing chunks of ice. The test was carried out safely for 15 minutes and data was taken every minute. Testing the DS18B20 sensor with a comparison sensor found an average error of 0.0409 with a standard deviation of 0.08023. The results of the measurement of small error errors presented that the DS18B20 sensor can be used properly.

Doppler tracking and compensation for underwater acoustic channels using shift-orthogonal pilot sequences

A novel time-domain Doppler tracker and compensator, using shift-orthogonal OFDM pilot sequences, was developed and assessed in simulations and early in-water trials. The objective is to address large Mach numbers like those experienced in the acoustic communications of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV). To start, the Doppler estimator extracts pilots in the received signal to produce Mach number estimates for every received signal sample. Given the large number of estimator samples, a Doppler tracker is proposed to reduce the number and simultaneously track Mach number variations. This novel tracker reduces the computational load on the compensator and makes it possible to implement on AUVs. Then, the Doppler compensator's first stage resamples the received signal using the Mach number estimates from the tracker's output. Since the estimates vary with time, the resampling performed is time-varying. Then, the final stage estimates the residual Doppler shift from the estimator and eliminates it with a phase rotation. The proposed receiver subsystem outperforms most existing compensators as measured through the mean-squared error, is more computationally efficient and addresses higher Mach numbers. Each element of the proposed receiver is tested in simulations and the results are shown to agree with theory. Comprehensive at-sea trials are next.

Drying is one of the oldest food preservation techniques associated simultaneous heat and mass transfer in order to extend the shelf-life of food materials. However, it is an energy intensive process and consumes about 20-25% of the energy used in the food processing industries. Developing of innovative drying system such as intermittent convective microwave (IMC) and utilization of renewable energy like solar energy in drying can be the potential solution of minimizing consumption of conventional energy in drying process. In this study, an innovative solar energy driven IMC dryer has been designed and fabricated. In addition to this, the effectiveness of this dryer over conventional drying process has been performed. Overall, the developed renewable energy based IMC drying shows better performance in energy consumption and quality aspect of the finish food product.

An Accurate Correlation-Type Doppler Estimator in Dynamic Underwater Acoustic Channels using Comb-Type Shift-Orthogonal Pilot Signals

This paper presents a practical and accurate Doppler estimator for signals propagating in underwater acoustic (UWA) channels. Estimation is performed with relatively short shift-orthogonal pilot sequences due to their correlation properties. Pilot bursts are OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing). The receiver performs Doppler estimation by cross-correlating the received signal with the known pilot signal, resulting in a Doppler phase estimate from which the Mach number is determined in real-time. The estimator operates at the sample rate of the signal, which yields a Mach number estimate every sample. Therefore, instantaneous changes in the Mach number are known, thereby allowing the tracking of Doppler effects in dynamic channels. A design criterion for the estimator’s validity is derived, which relates bandwidth, carrier frequency and sequence length with Mach number. A MATLAB Simulink model of the estimator is presented. The results show its performance in synthetic channels that simulate relative motion between transmitter and receiver. The Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) analysis shows the estimator achieving a variance below 10 -4 for SNRs above 20 dB. This is a near-optimal estimator. Additionally, compared to other estimators, the computational complexity is considerably lower and the range of valid Mach numbers that it can address is higher.

This study aims to present the influence of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) filler on the dielectric properties of two types of commercial potting compounds. For this purpose, the methods of dielectric spectroscopy were used to measure the changes in dielectric responses of polyurethane and epoxy by 1.0 wt. % ZnO over the frequency and temperature range, respectively. Two representatives of polyurethane and epoxy mixtures (VUKOL 022 and EPOXYLITE 3750 LV), that are commercially used in industry for filling cavities of all kinds (construction of electrical equipment), were used for this investigation. The ZnO nanoparticles in EPOXYLITE 3750 LV caused an increase, and in VUKOL 022 a decrease of the real permittivity compared to the pure matrix. Its decrease was most likely caused by the presence of highly immobile polyurethane chains in the interfacial regions around nanoparticles. The shift of a low relaxation maximum to higher frequencies for nanocomposite base on EPOXYLITE 3750 LV was affected by a smaller local electric field and electric double layers around the nanoparticles.

For the global market to achieve a competitive advantage, the companies in the manufacturing industries are working tirelessly to develop new products and services to meet the people’s demands. As a result, manufacturing companies worldwide are using highly advanced technologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Even though these high-end technologies are used in factories, they are not as closely integrated as they should be. This paper aims to review the impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) adoption in Malaysia’s manufacturing industry. The study conducted a rigorous review of the literature on (IoT) in the manufacturing industry. The paper reveals that there is a wide coverage and usage of IoT in the manufacturing industries even though the integration of IoT is at a very early stage. Therefore, the study recommended developing good infrastructures and strategies that will support the use of IoT. This will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of this highly relevant and essential sector.

Image stitching of microscopic wastewater images

In this paper, image stitching strategy is proposed to prepare a virtual slide image of the sample of activated sludge obtained from the wastewater treatment plant. The bright-field microscopic images have inherent problem of vignetting and less contrast, which result into failed image registration by conventional methods. Our method involves illumination correction, image segmentation, image registration and finally, image stitching. First, flat-field correction method is applied to all the acquired field of views (FOVs) to balance the illumination on each FOV. In the second step, adaptive thresholding method is employed to segment all the acquired FOVs to convert into binary images. This step is meant to increase the accuracy of finding the overlapping region during image registration. Then, phase correlation is used to find the overlapping region between images in horizontal direction during image stitching for each row of the microscopy slide, and in vertical direction subsequently for image stitching between the rows. The proposed method has been compared with the state-of-the-art algorithms using subjective inspection, and no reference evaluation indices of entropy and clarity. From the evaluation, we had observed that the proposed method performs better.

A method of analyzing human pulmonary X-rays using a few software procedures to process the images will be presented. Photographs of the lungs were investigated and images of the arteries were illustrated, successfully extracting the shadows due to the ribs and the lung itself through an advanced algorithm. This paper presents a solution for processing and interpretation of pulmonary X-ray images in order to deploy a better fractal analysis, to find out the fractal dimension and lacunarity for arteries network.
