Aim of this study is conducting a curriculum analyzing in order to look at the connection among the Basic Competencies (KD) of mathematics and the productive subjects in the fashion skills program on the SPLDV topic. This study is a part of a research utilized Plomp development model. Curriculum analysis was conducted to collect data to be used in the development of Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT), and also teacher and student books. The Realistic mathematics Education (RME) approach is used as the basis in the design. The result shows that mathematics Basic Competence (KD) on the SPLDV topic is connected to several subjects studied in the skill of fashion program.

Recent theoretical progress using multiscale asymptotic analysis has revealed various possible regimes of stratified turbulence. Notably, buoyancy transport can either be dominated by advection or diffusion, depending on the effective Péclet number of the flow. Two types of asymptotic models have been proposed, which yield measurably different predictions for the characteristic vertical velocity and length scale of the turbulent eddies in both diffusive and non-diffusive regimes. The first, termed a ‘single-scale model’, is designed to describe flow structures having large horizontal and small vertical scales, while the second, termed a ‘multiscale model’, additionally incorporates flow features with small horizontal scales, and reduces to the single-scale model in their absence. By comparing predicted vertical velocity scaling laws with direct numerical simulation data, we show that the multiscale model correctly captures the properties of strongly stratified turbulence within regions dominated by small-scale isotropic motions, whose volume fraction decreases as the stratification increases. Meanwhile its single-scale reduction accurately describes the more orderly, layer-like, quiescent flow outside those regions. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

We revisit the topic of common lines between projection images in single particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). We derive a novel low-rank constraint on a certain 2n × n matrix storing properly-scaled basis vectors for the common lines between n projection images of one molecular conformation. Using this algebraic constraint and others, we give optimization algorithms to denoise common lines and recover the unknown 3D rotations associated to the images. As an application, we develop a clustering algorithm to partition a set of noisy images into homogeneous communities using common lines, in the case of discrete heterogeneity in cryo-EM. We consider a class of high-dimensional spatial filtering problems, where the spatial locations of observations are unknown and driven by the partially observed hidden signal. This problem is exceptionally challenging as not only is high-dimensional, but the model for the signal yields longer-range time dependencies through the observation locations. Motivated by this model we revisit a lesser-known and provably convergent computational methodology from [4, 11, 28] that uses sequential Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) chains. We extend this methodology for data filtering problems with unknown observation locations. We benchmark our algorithms on Linear Gaussian state space models against competing ensemble methods and demonstrate a significant improvement in both execution speed and accuracy. Finally, we implement a realistic case study on a high-dimensional rotating shallow water model (of about 104 - 105 dimensions) with real and synthetic data. The mathematics learning results of class VIII SMPN 12 Padang students tend to be low. Allegedly the cause is the motivation and independence of learning students in learning mathematics is still not good. This research aims to uncover empirically, whether students’ motivation and independence of learning mathematics significantly affect the mathematical learning outcomes of class VIII SMPN 12 Padang. Type of this research is a combination of Ex Post Facto research and descriptive research. The population of this study is all students of class VIII in SMPN 12 Padang with a total of 248 people. The sample was 91 people who were taken by purposive sampling, where the sample was taken based on the class in which the teacher taught. Research instruments in the form of questionnaires and tests. Data of the research is analyzed descriptively using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression test, with motivation and student learning independence as independent variables and the students’ mathematics learning outcomes as dependent variable. The results showed that motivation and independence of learning together had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of class VIII SMPN 12. The result of R-square is 0.361, it shows that 36% of the variation in learning outcomes can be explained by learning motivation and learning independence. While the remaining 64% is explained by other causes examined in this study.

Using the Deep Potential methodology, we construct a model that reproduces accurately the potential energy surface of the SCAN approximation of density functional theory for water, from low temperature and pressure to about 2400 K and 50 GPa, excluding the vapor stability region. The computational efficiency of the model makes it possible to predict its phase diagram using molecular dynamics. Satisfactory overall agreement with experimental results is obtained. The fluid phases, molecular and ionic, and all the stable ice polymorphs, ordered and disordered, are predicted correctly, with the exception of ice III and XV that are stable in experiments, but metastable in the model. The evolution of the atomic dynamics upon heating, as ice VII transforms first into ice VII′′ and then into an ionic fluid, reveals that molecular dissociation and breaking of the ice rules coexist with strong covalent fluctuations, explaining why only partial ionization was inferred in experiments. © 2021, CC BY-NC-ND.

A multiscale computational framework combining the first-principles calculations and the CALPHAD approach with the phase-field method is presented to simulate the microstructure evolution in multicomponent steel alloys. We demonstrate the potential of the framework by predicting the microstructural evolution in elastically periodic arrays of the Mo-V binary sub-system. The framework utilizes the first-principles calculations using special quasi-random structures. Hitherto unavailable thermodynamic and material properties of the alloy are obtained by employing the first-principles calculations and the CALPHAD approach and fed into the phase-field model to predict the microstructure evolution at different temperatures within the miscibility gap region. In addition to the temperature and cooling rates, the model incorporates the role of mechanical fields in decomposition kinetics in the Mo-V binary alloy system. Regimes for temperatures and cooling rates at which spinodal decomposition occurs are identified. Applying external loading leads to directional phase separation in the Mo-V binary system. The elastic inhomogeneity in terms of material properties between the two phases initiates the directional alignment while eigenstrains and applied external loading control the degree of alignment. The framework developed is general and extendable to higher multicomponent sub-systems in steel alloys. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Although some researchers have been researching the correlation between self-efficacy and mathematics anxiety, they indicated various correlations. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis aimed at determining the strength of the actual correlation between the two variables. Data obtained from primary studies that have been published in journals, proceedings, and dissertations from 2010 to 2021. Data conducted from 46 studies (n=48447), we found a small-to-large, negative and positive, and significant correlation between self-efficacy and mathematics anxiety. Based on analysis using the random-effect model concluded that there was a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and mathematics anxiety. This showed that the higher self-efficacy, the lower mathematics anxiety. The correlation was in the moderate category (r=-0.164) and confidence interval was on a range -0.228 to -0.101.
