Tuberculosis is a global epidemic, one of the top 10 causes of death in the world. One of the potent anti-tuberculosis drugs used in the treatment of tuberculosis is Rifampicin. Meanwhile, Ag38kDa recombinant protein contains 2 Mtb-specific B cell epitopes and is believed to be the most potent immunogen. The purpose of this study is to compare Rifampicin with recombinant protein antibody Ag38kDa and the combination of both in stimulating the response of T-lymphocytes by observing the percentage of CD4+ and CD8+ cells that can be a breakthrough for the treatment of active tuberculosis. This study involved several treatment groups, the antibody recombinant protein Ag38kDa group, the Rifampicin group, and the combination group. All treatment groups were compared with positive controls. All treatment groups were examined by flow cytometry, and SPSS statistics were adopted to calculate the results. The average percentage of CD4+ cells treated with Rifampicin increases compared to the control (0.00<0.05). For CD8+, there is a significant increase in all treatment groups compared to controls (0.00<0.05). The increase of CD4+ and CD8+ aid the bacteria eradication process that infects cells and inhibits the growth and spread of mycobacteria in tuberculosis.

Messaging in this modern era is growing really fast because it’s so easy to use. The more development of messaging, the easier it is for third parties to access the contents of the message. Cryptography is needed to learn about how a message remains safe. This research is to develop the security of a message in encoding an image using a combination of 30 Playfair Cipher and Bit Shift. The encryption and decryption process of 30 Playfair Cipher using a pair of three letters (trigram) is followed by shifting the bits up, right, down, and left in the image which is done several iterations repeatedly. The encryption process produces a different cipherimage with a visually plainimage. The decryption process successfully returns the cipherimage to plainimage. Combination of 30 Playfair Cipher and Bit Shift using histogram analysis, NPCR, UACI, and correlation coefficient to see the difference in calculation value between plainimage and cipherimage, and the result of the average values are 455743,6698; 99,51275%; 31,92532%; and 0,054784798. The results showed that the combination of 30 Playfair Cipher and Bit Shift can be used to secure a message.

There is a close relationship between water quality conditions in the maintenance system and the health of cantang grouper (Epinephelus sp.). The main triggers of water quality are the following suboptimal levels were temperature, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out water quality management in grouper rearing pond that is vaccinated to create controlled environmental conditions. The method used in this research is experimental. Water quality monitoring was carried out in all treatment tanks used for recombinant vaccines test, there were (A) Normal fish without treatment; (B) VNN-Infected fish; (C) Healthy fish with 33 µl vaccine treatment; (D) Healthy fish with 66 µl vaccine treatment; (E) Healthy fish with 112 µl vaccine treatment; (F) VNN-Infected fish with 33 µl vaccine treatment; (G) VNN-Infected fish with 66 µl vaccine treatment; and (H) VNN-Infected fish with 112 µl vaccine treatment; (I) Healthy fish with 33 µl vaccine treatment then infected with VNN; (J) Healthy fish treated with 66 µl vaccine then infected with VNN; (K) Healthy fish with 112 µl vaccine treatment then infected with VNN. Water quality control was carried out during the recombinant vaccine treatment process by adding an aerator for oxygen supply and heater to keep the temperature stable. The results of water quality temperature parameters were obtained in the range of 30-31°C, the salinity of 30 ppt, pH 7.5-7.8 and dissolved oxygen between 17.2-19.1 mg L-1. The water quality condition in grouper tanks with vaccine treatments was good and following the water quality standards that supports the life of cantang grouper. Water temperature has a major influence on the initiation and transmission of several fish diseases. The water quality in this study showed optimal values, thus supporting controlled water quality conditions during the recombinant vaccine treatment.

We investigate the polymeric adsorption of formic acid (HCOOH) on the Cu(111) surface by means of density functional theory. We present structural models for the polymeric form of HCOOH on Cu(111) and characterize their stability, electronic, and vibrational properties. Based on the energetics and dynamics, as well as simulated scanning tunneling microscopy and atomic force microscopy images, we propose that the α polymorph is likely to be formed on the Cu(111) surface and can explain the experimental findings. We also study the initial step of the catalytic dehydrogenation of HCOOH and find that the O-H bond dissociation at the edge of the polymer is facilitated, rather than that forming hydrogen bonding, agreeing well with the experiments.

Barium M-hexaferrite were synthesized with Co-Ni doping ions (BaFe12-2xCoNixO19) using the co-precipitation method, based on the natural iron sand of the Loang Balok beach, Sekarbela District, Mataram, Indonesia. The synthesis was carried out with variations in the concentration of doping ions (x = 0.0, 0.6, and 1.0). The characterization of the sample was completed using XRD, SEM-EDX, TEM. The XRD results showed that the sample had a hexagonal structure because it had a c / value of 2.3 to 2.6. In contrast, SEM-EDX showed that the sample size of BaFe12CoNiO19 had reached the range of nanoparticles from 41 nm to 151 nm which was evenly distributed, with a composition of Ba = 12.22%; Fe = 49.1%; Co = 8.78%; Ni = 4.76%; and O = 21.37%, and slight impurities Cl = 3.77%.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has caused the current pandemic of COVID-19 and is highly infectious with relatively high mortality risk. In this study, we reviewed and summarized miscellaneous COVID-19 cases from vulnerable groups, including children and those with comorbidity, reinfections, coinfections and vaccinated individuals, and rapid transmission cases to understand if there are any specific SARS-CoV-2 variants that infect those groups. We concluded that there were no specific variants associated with higher rates of infection within certain groups, rather, they may tend to infect any groups with any immunity levels, regardless of geographical boundaries. A high prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infection is mainly driven by the ability of viruses with genetic markers that have been associated with higher risks of transmission and immune escape in vulnerable groups. Disease severity is not only influenced by the virus, but also host conditions such as gender, age, comorbidity, and obesity. The likelihood of new emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants resulting from infections in vulnerable groups is high, thus monitoring viral genetic markers and mutations is crucial for outbreak preparedness.

There was an outbreak with symptoms similar to SARS caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the People’s Republic of China at the end of 2019. The rapid spread of the virus, even in Indonesia, led to a pandemic status being given by the WHO. The use of current medications before a vaccine is identified and ready for help is one alternative to reducing COVID-19 patients. As a candidate for anti-COVID-19 drugs, Hydroxychloroquine has been extensively studied and has now reached the clinical trial stage. Hydroxychloroquine’s solubility in water, however, is so limited that it affects its low human body bioavailability. The development of a stable inclusion complex with β-cyclodextrin is one way to increase Hydroxychloroquine’s solubility in water. This research investigated the interaction between β-cyclodextrin and Hydroxychloroquine through molecular docking analysis and a semiempirical quantum process. The results of the semiempirical quantum method and the study of molecular docking suggest that β-cyclodextrin and Hydroxychloroquine are a stable inclusion complex. Hydroxychloroquine’s solubility in aqueous solution can also be increased by forming an inclusion complex with β-cyclodextrin.

At the end of 2019, there was an outbreak with symptoms similar to SARS in the People’s Republic of China caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The massive spread of the virus, including in Indonesia, caused the WHO to issue a pandemic status. One alternative to reducing COVID-19 patients is to use existing drugs until a vaccine is found and ready for use. Currently, hydroxychloroquine has been widely researched as a candidate for anti-COVID-19 medicines, which has now entered the clinical trial stage. However, the solubility of hydroxychloroquine in water is so small that it impacts its low bioavailability in the human body. One way to increase hydroxychloroquine’s solubility in water is through the formation of a stable inclusion complex with hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin. In this research, a molecular docking study and semiempirical quantum method were conducted to investigate the interaction between hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin and hydroxychloroquine. The molecular docking study results and semiempirical quantum method show that hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin and hydroxychloroquine form stable inclusion complex. This research tested 35 high school biology teachers in Surakarta, Indonesia aims to check their perceptions about teaching biology, and analyzed their PCK profiles. Respondents were public and private schools’ teachers who voluntary agreed to join the survey. A multiple-choice test developed based on the indicators of PCK was used to explore teacher’s perceptions. The results showed that 77.14% of teachers preferred to use a kinesthetic teaching strategy, focus on measuring the lower and higher thinking skills (51.43%), and 80% teachers eager to train conceptual understanding and its application instead of preparation for the high stakes examination.
