The paper deals with a magnitude-optimum based synthesis of PID control loops with respect to the disturbance rejection. To obtain as general as possible formulation of the control synthesis the dimensional analysis is applied resulting in the use of similarity numbers of the so-called swingability and laggardness of the time delay plant. Just this approach lias made it possible to work with the transcendental form of the optimized magnitude function. From the meromorphic description of the control loop with delay the PID setting then can be evaluated by means of Levenberg-Marquardt iteration method. The obtained PID settings are systematically compared from the viewpoint of the dominant modes of the control loop responses. © 2015, IFAC (International Federation of Automatic control) Hosting by Elsevier Ltd. Vibrations being induced on a main structure due to fluctuating force disturbances are suppressed in this study using Delayed Resonator (DR) (N. Olgac, M. Hosek, 1997), with the added challenges that the corresponding system characteristic equation is of neutral type with two independent delays, where one delay must be tuned as per DR and the other is uncertain due to remote communication delays. In this study, a type of Rekasisus transformation with frequency sweeping approach is adopted along with D-subdivision theorem for the stability analysis of the LTI vibration control problem with respect to uncertain delay and controller gains, while keeping the tuned delay fixed, similar to that in (Cooke and van den Driessche, 1986a). Spectrodirectional measurement combined with measurement of radiation distribution function enable to study illumination characteristics of different light sources. The experiments are realized with a goniometer. In this paper we present design of such an optical instrument for measurement of radiation and spectral characteristics of various visible light sources. The instrument enables to measure various tasks from the field of technical radiometry to photobiology. The measurement technique combines simultaneous measurement of spectral data with information of overall radiation characteristics of different light sources. Design of the instrument is compact, robust and its kinematic principle is based on Cardan joint. The device was designed for laboratory measurement and educational purposes. The measurement process is fully automated or enables semi-automated control. This instrument finds its use in research projects focusing on study of bioluminescence and surface textures and is utilized for measurement of radiation and spectral distribution functions. © 2015, Editura Cefin. Spectral design of output feedback controllers for systems pre-compensated by input shapers

The primary objective is to investigate the applicability of spectral methods for designing feedback controllers for a closed loop system with an input shaper with time delays. The shaper is included in the feedback loop in order to pre-compensate low-damped oscillatory modes of a flexible subsystem. However, after inserting a shaper into the feedback loop, the closed loop dynamics becomes infinite dimensional. A robust controller design then requires guaranteeing that all the infinitely many poles of the closed loop system will safely be located in the left half of the complex plane. Besides, the closed loop dynamics need to be suficiently fast in order to take over and keep filtering properties of the input shaper. For the spectral design of the controller, the recently developed spectral abscissa minimization approach for interconnected time delay systems is applied. The presented methods are tested on a case study simulation example, which is a multi-degree of freedom mechanical system. © 2015, IFAC (International Federation of Automatic control) Hosting by Elsevier Ltd. Motor control circuits need cut-off current from supply to load, when an abnormal situation occurs. The motor current cut-off control is realized by relay contacts in series and they are inserted into motor drive systems. This article presents relay drive circuit for safe operation order. The relay drivers system based on safe design. A circuit without CPUs with on-delay and off-delay, using IC LM 317 is a delay circuit and forward boost converter circuit step up voltage to the relay. The failure analysis used Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The performances test and analyze with simulation program.

Realisation of circular motion for portable BTF measurement instrument

The paper contains analysis of possibilities for realization a large radius circular motion suitable for a portable measurement system for bidirectional texture functions (BTF) measurement. This circular motion will be used for changing the position of an array of detection cameras taking snapshots of sample illuminated by LED modules. The constrains for the proposed circular motion design are: large radius of motion about 300 mm limited to angular motion about 12°, non-accessibility of the centre of rotation which has to be kept free, total mass and price of the solution and motion deviation from centre point. We present three possible solutions comprising a single stiff curved guide with a ball roller, a curved guide with fixed rollers and two separated linear guides. We include an additional factor - the angular deviation of concentrically arranged array of cameras to - evaluate the optimal solution reaching BTF measurement instrument needs. © 2015, Editura Cefin. Simple kaleidoscope design for reflectance measurement

In this paper we describe simple design of a kaleidoscope used for measuring the bidirectional reflectance distribution function with aim to obtain the bidirectional texture function of various surface samples. The first prototype of the kaleidoscope was designed in symmetrical configuration with four tapered mirror walls. We discuss the influence of different design parameters with respect to expected results. The proposed kaleidoscope was manufactured and his performance evaluated. © 2014, Editura Cefin. Tensile stress measurement is a standard technique for evaluation of material properties of the sample under test. This method is standardized for small specimen up to 1x0.25x0.005 mm size. Even smaller specimen can be measured, but the overall dimensions of the complete testing device are much larger. Such dimensions pose limiting factor for performing tensile stress measurement using techniques like high energy X-ray diffraction measurement. Our goal was to design an experimental mini-tensile stress load cell with small enough outer dimensions and mechanical actuation. This paper presents few different designs of such mechanical load cells and evaluates its benefits and limitations. © 2014, Editura Cefin. All right reserved.

This paper shows a comparison of two basic methods for preparing micro EDM electrodes. It shows the advantages and disadvantages of the solid block and the wire electrodes. The possibilities of these two methods and the capability to produce thin electrodes are discussed. In its final part parameters of the EDM process during preparing a flat electrode using a wire cutter are discussed. Results for the EDM process speed with different parametrs are shown.

This paper presents design of custom adjustable light tight mirror holder for photon detecting non-imaging system. The mirror holder is designed to equip small mirror with diameter of 25.4 mm. The mirror mount is adjustable in three translations and two rotations. The design solves non-concentricity of optical and mechanical axis in parts of the light source.
