To describe the charge-polarization coupling in the nanostructure formed by a thin HfxZr1-xO2 film with a single-layer graphene as a top electrode, we develop the "effective" Landau-Ginzburg-Devonshire model. This approach is based on the parametrization of the Landau expansion coefficients for the polar (FE) and antipolar (AFE) orderings in thin Hf1-xZrxO2 films from a limited number of polarization-field curves and hysteresis loops. The Landau expansion coefficients are nonlinearly dependent on the film thickness h and Zr/[Hf+Zr] ratio x, in contrast to h-independent and linearly x-dependent expansion coefficients of a classical Landau energy. We explain the dependence of the Landau expansion coefficients by the strong nonmonotonic dependence of the polar properties on the Hf1-xZrxO2 film thickness, grain size and surface energy. Recent developments and research in modern machine learning have led to substantial improvements in the geospatial field. Although numerous deep learning architectures and models have been proposed, the majority of them have been solely developed on benchmark datasets that lack strong real-world relevance. Furthermore, the performance of many methods has already saturated on these datasets. We argue that a shift from a model-centric view to a complementary data-centric perspective is necessary for further improvements in accuracy, generalization ability, and real impact on end-user applications. Furthermore, considering the entire machine learning cycle—from problem definition to model deployment with feedback—is crucial for enhancing machine learning models that can be reliable in unforeseen situations. This work presents a definition as well as a precise categorization and overview of automated data-centric learning approaches for geospatial data. It highlights the complementary role of data-centric learning with respect to model-centric in the larger machine learning deployment cycle. We review papers across the entire geospatial field and categorize them into different groups. A set of representative experiments shows concrete implementation examples. These examples provide concrete steps to act on geospatial data with data-centric machine learning approaches. © 2023, CC BY.

The process of reengineering business processes, in our opinion, is an iterative procedure in the process of enterprise management. Each subsequent business process in the business process chain is a logical continuation of the previous one. The reengineering procedure is characterized by the presence of some feedback about the impact of each individual business process on the overall set of business processes. During the implementation of reengineering, traditional business approaches may undergo revision. Often, many business rules need to be improved and are outdated. The use of public-private partnerships, in our opinion, can be considered as elements of reengineering, since partnerships with the state can open up new business development prospects for an enterprise, and many business processes used at this enterprise can be rethought and updated. The production of high-quality and high-performance agricultural machinery can be of great importance for solving the problem of ensuring food security of the state. The use of various forms of public-private partnership allows us to speed up the solution of this problem. The implementation of economic modernization requires the full use of the economic potential of the state. This can be achieved only if public-private partnerships are effectively implemented, since they allow combining the resources of the state and private business to achieve common goals.

Technology that assists and extends various functions of human beings will soon be available not only to medical and welfare but also to healthy individuals. This study aimed to characterize surface electromyography (EMG) signals in response to walking assistive equipment. Ten healthy male students walked on an 8-m uphill road (5.8% incline) using an assist walker (RT.2, *** Co., Ltd) under assist and non-assist conditions. The EMG signals were recorded from four muscles (the rectus femoris [RF], biceps femoris, tibialis anterior, and lateral gastrocnemius). During loading response and terminal stance, the percent maximum voluntary isometric contraction (%MVC) peak value for RF was achieved more quickly in the assist condition than in the non-assist condition. However, during loading response and mid-swing, the %MVC peak value of RF was significantly lower in the assist condition than in the non-assist condition. These results indicate that humans alter muscle exertion patterns in specific muscles to adapt to walking assistance;such a change in the muscle exertion pattern may be adapted for smoother walking. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Concept for composition of hybrid flying multi-rotor platforms with distributed load and its experimental justification

This paper discusses the main approaches to the development and construction of hybrid flying multi-rotor platforms with separation of lift control functions and angular stabilization functions, called by the authors 'distributed load'. A significant factor that limits flight time for majority of multi-rotor platforms is the energy density limit of lithium polymer batteries, which are most commonly used. To solve this problem we analyzed possible ways to increase flight time: replacing the main type of energy carrier for a more energy-intensive one and use of hybrid systems with combination of popular lithium-polymer batteries and a more energy-intensive energy carrier. The analysis was supported by experimental data.

Fabrication of arrays of the three-dimensional microstructures on a substrate using the combined etching processes

Anisotropic etching is a useful processing method for the fabrication of three-dimensional (3D) microstructures on single crystal silicon (SCS) substrates. In this paper, we have fabricated the arrays of 3D convex microstructures using the combined etching process which includes two types of anisotropic etching process. The arrays of the micropillar structures with vertical sidewalls were firstly fabricated on the substrate surface using deep reactive ion etching (D-RIE) of SCS. Furthermore, anisotropic wet etching of the micropillars was performed in the etching solution and the shape of the additionally-etched 3D microstructures was investigated. We have also suggested the potential of the combined etching process to decrease the fabrication time of the arrays of micro pyramid which are usually fabricated using only the anisotropic wet etching of SCS. © 2018 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

This paper presents the technology of production of synthetic fibrous materials from PET-raw by vertical blowing method. The formation of fibers from the melt of thermoplastics by vertical blowing method is accompanied by complex and specific phenomena, so creation of new progressive technologies, high-performance machines and units for producing such materials is impossible without process modeling, which can significantly reduce the number of natural tests, cost and development time and choose optimal operating modes. The motion of the molten material in the melting unit of the hydrostatic type is determined from the Poiseuille formula. Also in the article proved that the greatest impact on process productivity is made by the melting unit, exactly by outlet radius and the pressure change of compressed air, acting on the molten material surface. The increase in the height of the molten material column in the main cylindrical chamber of melting unit also leads to increase of process productivity. © 2019 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Trend analysis of extreme ground-level ozone (GLO) concentration is one of the common thoughts to ensure the continuous improvement in ozone performing. This paper aims to identify the GLO concentration trends at 25 air monitoring stations in Peninsular Malaysia for understanding the pattern occur in all GLO data. The trend analysis has been examined by method of non-stationarity test and trend test. The objective of this analysis is to classify the nonstationarity and trend behaviour occur in the GLO data concentration and to examine the performance. Results from the ADF (Augmented Dickey-Fuller) test reveals that stationarity exist in all stations whereas the Kwiatkowski–Phillips–Schmidt–Shin (KPSS) test shows only 8 stations have a stationarity. Next, for the trend test using Mann-Kendall. In a test of maximum ground-level ozone concentration increasing after displaying positive Kendall Z-values for 12 stations, 9 stations were found to be dropping after having a negative Kendall Z-value, and the remaining station showed no trend. This trend analysis can be used for monitoring of the performance of level in ground-level ozone concentration and can be used as an idea to statistician to continue the analysis in order to further investigation about ground-level ozone performance.

LDNet: End-to-End Lane Marking Detection Approach Using a Dynamic Vision Sensor

Modern vehicles are equipped with various driver-assistance systems, including automatic lane keeping, which prevents unintended lane departures. Traditional lane detection methods incorporate handcrafted or deep learning-based features followed by postprocessing techniques for lane extraction using frame-based RGB cameras. The utilization of frame-based RGB cameras for lane detection tasks is prone to illumination variations, sun glare, and motion blur, which limits the performance of lane detection methods. Incorporating an event camera for lane detection tasks in the perception stack of autonomous driving is one of the most promising solutions for mitigating challenges encountered by frame-based RGB cameras. The main contribution of this work is the design of the lane marking detection model, which employs the dynamic vision sensor. This paper explores the novel application of lane marking detection using an event camera by designing a convolutional encoder followed by the attention-guided decoder. The spatial resolution of the encoded features is retained by a dense atrous spatial pyramid pooling (ASPP) block. The additive attention mechanism in the decoder improves performance for high dimensional input encoded features that promote lane localization and relieve postprocessing computation. The efficacy of the proposed work is evaluated using the DVS dataset for lane extraction (DET). The experimental results show a significant improvement of 5.54% and 5.03% in F1 scores in multiclass and binary-class lane marking detection tasks. Additionally, the intersection over union (IoU) scores of the proposed method surpass those of the best-performing state-of-the-art method by 6.50% and 9.37% in multiclass and binary-class tasks, respectively. © 2020, CC BY.

Output regulation for load frequency control

Motivated by the inadequacy of the existing control strategies for power systems affected by time-varying uncontrolled power injections such as loads and the increasingly widespread renewable energy sources, this paper proposes two control schemes based on the well-known output regulation control methodology. The first one is designed based on the classical output regulation theory and addresses the so-called Load Frequency Control (LFC) problem in presence of time-varying uncontrolled power injections. Then, in order to also minimize the generation costs, we use an approximate output regulation method that solves numerically only the partial differential equation of the regulator equation and propose a controller based on this solution, minimizing an appropriate penalty function. An extensive case study shows excellent performance of the proposed control schemes in different and critical scenarios. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.
