Soliton Solutions for Coupled Nonlinear Generalized Zakharov Equations with Anti-cubic Nonlinearity Using Various Techniques

This study introduces novel exact solutions for the coupled nonlinear generalized Zakharov equations with anti-cubic nonlinearity. Utilizing a variety of mathematical approaches, including the extended trial function method, the rational exp (-ψ(ξ))-expansion method, and three well-known auxiliary equation methods, a spectrum of solutions is derived. These solutions encompass dark solitons, bright solitons, singular solitons, Jacobi elliptic functions, periodic waves, and rational solutions. The unique contribution lies in the use of a phase variable θ(ξ) instead of a phase constant, providing fresh insights into wave behavior. A comparative analysis underscores the originality of the derived solutions, setting this work apart from prior studies. These findings advance our understanding of nonlinear dynamics and mathematical modeling, with potential applications in various domains. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature India Private Limited.

This paper proposes an efficient, bi-convex, fuzzy, variational (BFV) method with teaching and learning based optimization (TLBO) for geometric image segmentation. Firstly, we adopt a bi-convex, object function to process a geometric image. Then, we introduce TLBO to maximally optimize the length-penalty item, which will be changed under the teaching phase and the learner phase of the TLBO. This makes the length penalty item closer to the target boundary. Therefore, the length-penalty item can be automatically adjusted according to the fitness function, namely the evaluation standards of the image quality. At last, we combine the length-penalty item with the numerical remedy mechanism to achieve better results. Compared with existing methods, simulations show that our method is more effective. © 2016 - IOS Press and the authors. All rights reserved.

The emergence of interference alignment (IA) as a degrees-of-freedom optimal strategy motivates the need to investigate whether IA can be leveraged to aid conventional network utility maximization algorithms, which are typically only capable of finding locally optimal solutions. To test the usefulness of IA in this context, this paper proposes a two-stage optimization framework for the downlink of a G -cell multi-antenna network with K users/cell. The first stage of the proposed framework focuses on nulling interference from a set of dominant interferers using IA, while the second stage optimizes transmit and receive beamformers to maximize a network-wide utility using the IA solution as the initial condition. Further, this paper establishes a set of new feasibility results for partial IA that can be used to guide the number of dominant interferers to be nulled in the first stage. Through simulations on specific topologies of a cluster of base stations, it is observed that the impact of IA depends on the choice of the utility function and the presence of out-of-cluster interference. In the absence of out-of-cluster interference, the proposed framework outperforms straightforward optimization when maximizing the minimum rate, while providing marginal gains when maximizing sum rate. However, the benefit of IA is greatly diminished in the presence of significant out-of-cluster interference. © 2016 IEEE.

In this paper we consider Software-Defined Infrastructure (SDI), a new concept for integrated control and management of converged heterogeneous resources. SDI enables programmability of infrastructure by enabling the support of cloud-based applications, customized network functions, and hybrid combinations of *** motivate SDI in the context of a multi-tier cloud that includes massive-scale datacenters as well as a smart converged network edge. In SDI, a centralized SDI manager controls converged heterogeneous resources (i.e., computing, programmable hardware, and networking resources) using virtualization and a topology manager that provides the status of all resources and their connectivity. We discuss the design and implementation of SDI in the context of the Canadian SAVI *** describe the current deployment of the SAVI testbed and applications that are currently supported in the testbed. © Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2014.

The outstanding performance of Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) has made them widely applied in vision-related tasks. However, various corruptions in the real world mean that images will not be as ideal as in simulations, presenting significant challenges for the practical application of LMMs. To address this issue, we introduce R-Bench, a benchmark focused on the Real-world Robustness of LMMs. Specifically, we: (a) model the complete link from user capture to LMMs reception, comprising 33 corruption dimensions, including 7 steps according to the corruption sequence, and 7 groups based on low-level attributes;(b) collect reference/distorted image dataset before/after corruption, including 2,970 question-answer pairs with human labeling;(c) propose comprehensive evaluation for absolute/relative robustness and benchmark 20 mainstream LMMs. Results show that while LMMs can correctly handle the original reference images, their performance is not stable when faced with distorted images, and there is a significant gap in robustness compared to the human visual system. We hope that R-Bench will inspire improving the robustness of LMMs, extending them from experimental simulations to the real-world application. © 2007-2012 IEEE.

The cloud microphysical properties retrieved from MODIS sub-sampling radiance dataset (MOD02SSH) over the extended GAME region are shown in this paper. The spatial distributions and temporal variations of the cloud optical thickness (τc) and effective particle radius (re), are important observation targets to understand the role of clouds in the radiation budget estimations, especially in the cloud-aerosol interaction studies, because they will have information of cloud growth process. Thus, the wide-area and relatively high-temporal observations of the cloud properties are necessary. The most passed researches that retrieved near-global distributions of the cloud properties, used the reduced data volume satellite radiance subset, such as the globally map-projected radiances dataset at the discretized degrees in latitude and longitude (e.g. 0.5 degrees) or narrow-swath (around nadir) radiance subset. In fact, these subsets reduced the computing time but unexpectedly reduced the observation samplings. In this study, we used MODIS 5-km subsampling radiance subsets (MOD02SSH) for the retrievals. The MOD02SSH conserves scene texture with moderately reduced data volume of 1/25 from original MODIS scene, so that they will be suitable for the more precise estimations of τc and re over synoptic to global scale. We retrieved τc and re from one-month MOD02SSH over the extended GAME region (60E-180E longitude and 20S to 60N latitude) in July 2004. In the obtained τc versus re scatter plots, we found interesting features that will be explained as the cloud properties under the pristine and polluted environments in the region. The non-hydrostatic spectral microphysics cloud model simulates these phenomena well. In the presentation, we will discuss about the MODIS radiance dataset for the cloud analysis, retrieval algorithm, then show the typical and interesting features appeared in observed τc-re scatter plots over the extended GAME regions.

This paper presents a 12-sector antenna using a proximity coupled taper slot antenna (PCTSA). By optimizing a parameter of PCTSA, we demonstrated the 12-sector antenna experimentally. By using a cylindrical reflector, the side lobe level caused by the mutual coupling of the adjacent elements is suppressed. This sector beam antenna has a front gain of 7 dBi and its half-power beamwidth is about 30/spl deg/ in the H plane. © 1999 IEEE.

We propose a two-layer coding method for HDR images with noise bias compensation (NBC). Although the mean of image noise is assumed to be zero originally, it becomes nonzero (that is, noise bias is present) after tone mapping, because of the nonlinearity of tone mapping. In the conventional two-layer coding, the reconstructed LDR image is decoded using a lossy encoder of a base layer that includes noise;the noise is included in an HDR image that is inverse tone mapped from a reconstructed LDR image with noise bias. We aim to improve the quality of reconstructed HDR images by compensating for noise bias. NBC classifies pixels in a noisy image into several subsets according to the pixel value after tone mapping, and compensates for the pixel value in each subset with a compensation value determined in advance. The compensation values are determined by using all pixel values in the LDR image that is input to the base layer, in addition to those in the HDR image that is inversely tone mapped from the reconstructed LDR image. We perform NBC following inverse tone mapping for the reconstructed LDR image. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2019 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

In the conditions of industrial production many processes of polymerisation are nonstationary. By processes optimization with the regard for such features as basic data it is necessary to use adaptive algorithms of identification, allowing mathematical model of process continuously to be adapted for changing conditions of operation. Use of such algorithms for process optimization demands periodic recalculation of optimum technological modes of process.
