Numerical simulations of plasma heating with waves in the ion cyclotron range of frequencies (ICRF) require to iteratively couple a solver for wave propagation in plasmas with a solver of the quasilinear kinetic equation. Among the codes developed for this purpose, the TORIC-SSFPQL package is characterized by its high execution speed. The kinetic code SSFPQL, however, was based on a somewhat simplified physical model, in which some important effects of the toroidal geometry were omitted. We have recently improved this model by taking into account in the zero–banana–width limit the influence of toroidal trapping on the ICRF quasilinear operator. To make the extended model compatible with the representation of the ion distribution functions as a truncated series of Legendre polynomials in the velocity pitch-angle adopted in SSFPQL, a special approach based on the multiprecision arithmetic had to be developed. We describe these new developments, and present first results obtained with the improved model.

Towards the reactive compensation feature of distribution network and integral substation, this paper proposed an integration structure of distribution transformer and STATCOM (DT-STATCOM). It use the surplus capacity of transformer to compensate the reactive power; by setting the connect voltage flexible, it extended the switching devices selection; the integration structure reduce the volume and cost of compensation device. Based on the structure of DT-STATCOM, this paper proposed two novel reactive current detection method across the transformer's ports. Then the paper designed the decision control system using multi-lateral information. Simulation result showed that, the DT-STATCOM system had significant effect on dynamic reactive power compensation, transformer voltage support and imbalance inhibition.

Previous work has shown many general space vector PWM algorithms for cascaded H-bridge inverters. To keep the load balance of switches for cascaded H-bridge inverters, complex pulse cycle control must be added to the algorithms. This paper presents carrier phase-shifted discontinuous PWM (CPS-DPWM) algorithm which can keep load balance of switches automatically. More importantly, switching frequency is reduced up to 2/3 of the previous. Simulation results are given for the verification of CPS-DPWM algorithm.

An 18-pulse rectifier based on a step-up or step-down autotransformer in star-fork connection is presented. The voltage vector diagram of the autotransformer is given out and the connection of windings is also analyzed. By arrangement the secondly windings properly, the output voltage can be set in a wide range below or above the 3-phase uncontrolled rectifier with a low THD in the input current. key analysis and results obtained via the Matlab simulation and some experimental results are presented for validation of the presented work.
