Nb/Ta multilayer films deposited on Ti6A14V substrate with Nb and Ta monolayer thicknesses of 30 nm, 120 nm, and 240 nm were irradiated by a high current pulse electron beam (HCPEB) to prepare Nb-Ta alloyed layers. The mi- crostructure and the composition of the outmost surface of melted alloyed layers were investigated using a transmission electron microscope (TEM) equipped with an X-ray energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) attachment. The Ta content of the alloyed surface layer prepared from the monolayer of thickness 30 nm, 120 nm, and 240 nm was- 27.7 at.%, 6.37 at.%, and 0 at.%, respectively. It was found that the Ta content in the alloyed layer plays a dominant role in the microstructure of the films. The hardness and the wear rate of the alloyed layers decrease with the increasing content of Ta in the surface laver.

Densification behaviors of SrO-BaO-Nb2O5-SiO2 based glass-ceramics prepared by conventional sintering were investigated with an emphasis on the influence of P2O5 content. Although P2O5 dopant did not modify the surface crystallization mechanism, it resulted in a decrease of the glass transition temperature, which facilitates the viscous glass flow necessary for sintering. However, premature crystallization of (Sr, Ba)Nb2O6 induced by addition of excess amount of P2O5 essentially retarded sintering due to the formation of closed pores in the matrix. The SrO-BaO-Nb2O5-SiO2 glass with 1.0 mol% P2O5 (SBN-1P) showed the best sinter densification, which was accomplished at about 850 ℃.

A two-dimensional axisymmetric mathematical model of weld pool of pulsed TIG welding was established. Numerical simulation for weld pool of pulsed TIG welding was done using FLUENT software by selecting the appropriate boundary conditions and strongly coupled control equations. The distributions of temperature field and flow field of weld pool under the periodic change of welding current were obtained. According to the maximum temperature of upper and lower surface of workpiece and depth and width of weld pool, the distributions of temperature field and flow field under different pulsed frequencies and current duty cycles were obtained and periodic variation was analyzed under pulsed current. The analysis results show that with the increase of pulsed frequency, weld pool width increases slightly while depth decreases slightly, and with the increase of current duty cycle, the width and depth of weld pool both increase significantly, and the depth increases greatly.

Four new star-shaped π-conjugated oligomers (TPA-CZ3, TPA-TPA3, TPA-PTZ3 and TPA-BT3) with triphenylamine as a core and different electron-donating ability groups, carbazole, triphenylamine, phenothiazine and bithiophene, as peripheral units have been designed and synthesized via the Heck reaction. These oligomers show good solubility in common organic solvents. Their photophysical, electrochemical, electronic structure and charge transfer properties between these star-shaped n-conjugated oligomers and N,N'-bis(1-ethylpropyl)-3,4:9,10- perylene bis(tetracarboxyl diimide) (EP-PDI) have been investigated by UV-vis absorption spectra, photolumines- cence (PL) spectra, cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurement, theoretical calculations and fluorescence quenching. The results show that the absorptions and fluorescences of TPA-CZ3, TPA-TPA3 and TPA-PTZ3 are red shifted with the electron-donating ability of the peripheral unit increasing from carbazole to triphenylamine and phenothi- azine. In addition, although the bithiophene group has a weaker electron-donating ability than carbazole, triphenylamine and phenothiazine, the absorption and fluorescence of TPA-BT3 have a red shift than those of TPA-CZ3, TPA-TPA3 and TPA-PTZ3 because TPA-BT3 has a longer conjugation length than TPA-CZ3, TPA-TPA3 and TPA-PTZ3. The triphenylamine core and the peripheral units can constitute a large conjugated structure. The fluorescence quenching properties indicate that efficient charge transfer can happen between the star-shaped oligomers and EP-PDI.
