Recently, Worobey et al.(2022) published a report entitled ‘The Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan was the early epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic' that succinctly summarizes their study [1]. A pre-print version of this study had earlier elicited a series of highprofile media coverages [2,3]. All these reports deliver a social-political message that the Huanan market is the epicenter of COVID-19.

Glassforming liquid crystalline equimolar mixtures of MHPOBC and fluorinated compounds – structural, optical, and dielectric properties

Three liquid crystalline equimolar mixtures are formulated, each containing the MHPOBC compound and the homolog from the 3FmHPhF6 series with m = 4, 5, and 6. The properties of the mixtures are investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction, electro-optic measurements, and UV-Vis-NIR and dielectric spectroscopies. In all mixtures, the smectic A*, smectic C*, and smectic CA* phases are observed. Each mixture can be supercooled and forms the glass of smectic CA* at 225-238 K. The glass transition temperature decreases with the increasing CmH2m chain length in the 3FmHPhF6 molecule. The tilt angle in the smectic CA* phase reaches 36.5-37.5°. The selective reflection of light in the visible and near-infrared spectral ranges is observed, with a strong dependence of the reflected light’s wavenumber on temperature. © 2025, CC BY.

This work presents a numerical investigation of acoustic cavitation in Newtonian fluid based on frequency ultrasound. The model of ultrasonic cavitation dynamics is formulated by a modified Rayleigh-Plesset equation and an acoustic pressure equation. The exponential B-Spline collection method was employed to obtain the numerical solutions of the given cavitation bubble model, considering the effect of acoustic pressure. The behaviour of the cavitation microbubbles' radius and the internal pressure of acoustic cavitation were examined at different values of frequencies. The obtained results reveal the importance of frequencies in ultrasound, which play a vital role in changing the behaviour of cavitation bubbles.

Bernal-stacked bilayer graphene (BLG) provides an ideal basis for gate-controlled, and free of etching, electronic devices. Theoretical modeling of realistic devices is an essential part of research, however, simulations of large-scale BLG devices continue to be extremely challenging. Micrometer-sized systems are predominantly beyond the reach of the commonly used atomistic tight-binding method, while other numerical approaches based on the two dimensional Dirac equation are not straightforward to conduct due to the fermion doubling problem. Here we present an approach based on the continuum model, unharmed by the fermion doubling. The discretization of the BLG continuum Hamiltonian leads to an effective four-band model, with both valleys built-in. We demonstrate its performance with realistic, large-scale systems, and obtain results consistent with experiments and with the tight-binding model, over a broad range of magnetic field. This paper investigates the secrecy performance of full-duplex cooperative vehicular relaying networks under passive eavesdropping attacks in the presence of co-channel interference. In the considered system model, a static source communicates with a static destination through a mobile full-duplex relay in the presence of a mobile passive eavesdropper and a static co-channel interferer. A closed-form expression for the exact secrecy outage probability of the system is derived for the Nakagami-m fading environment. Hence, the asymptotic secrecy outage probability is obtained at high signal-to-noise values. Numerical and Simulation results are obtained to validate the derived analytical expressions. © 2022 IEEE.

This article discusses the classification of abnormal log messages from Juniper routers. Abnormal log messages reflect the unusual activities of these routers. Classifying abnormal log messages into different categories helps monitoring personnel quickly identify errors and take timely measures to protect the devices. We extract features from abnormal logs and use a Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) neural network model for classification. The MLP neural network model requires knowledge of the log data from Juniper routers so that the trained network can analyze and validate that knowledge. We collected log data from Juniper routers operating on SCTV's core network system, identified abnormal log messages, and classified them based on our experience and knowledge. © 2023 IEEE.

Lévy noise is a paradigmatic noise used to describe out-of-equilibrium systems. Typically, properties of Lévy noise driven systems are very different from their Gaussian white noise driven counterparts. In particular, under action of Lévy noise, stationary states in single-well, super-harmonic, potentials are no longer unimodal. Typically, they are bimodal however for fine-tuned potentials the number of modes can be further increased. The multimodality arises as a consequence of the competition between long displacements induced by the non-equilibrium stochastic driving and action of the deterministic force. Here, we explore robustness of bimodality in the quartic potential under action of the Lévy noise. We explore various scenarios of bounding long jumps and assess their ability to weaken and destroy multimodality. In general, we demonstrate that despite its robustness it is possible to destroy the bimodality, however it requires drastic reduction in the length of noise-induced jumps. This paper proposes an efficient method to estimate nonlinear dynamic models using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). The proposed method combines the power of statistical optimization and machine learning to obtain more accurate and efficient estimates of complex models by training CNNs to recognize maps featuring input models and between results, thereby reducing the computational cost of measurements and then using the trained CNN to generate surrogate models -The method can determine accuracy for a range of exposed cases in various nonlinear dynamic models, including differential equation model of chemical reactor and stochastic model of biological systems The results show that the proposed methods are effective for measuring these models, if at most with such accuracy and reducing the computational cost in terms of both frequency and magnitude, the proposed method represents a promising method for estimating nonlinear dynamic models, offering significant advantages in terms of accuracy, efficiency and in scalability © 2024 IEEE.

Frequency dependence of nonsequential double ionization of atoms in strong laser fields

The full-dimensional quantum mechanical description of double ionization in strong laser fields is still computationally very demanding. We demonstrate the versatility of a simplified (1+1)-dimensional model of the He atom, which allows the study of nonsequential double ionization in strong laser fields over a wide range of frequencies and intensities. The ionization yield, longitudinal ion momentum distributions, and two-electron momentum distributions obtained by using the applied approach are in good agreement with the experimental and semi-classical data available in the literature, thus complementing them with a quantum mechanical description. The methodology can be extended to other atomic species or to study higher ionization.

Lightweight deep convolutional neural networks(CNNs)present a good solution to achieve fast and accurate image-guided diagnostic procedures of COVID-19 ***,advantages of portable Ultrasound(US)imaging such as simplicity and safe procedures have attracted many radiologists for scanning suspected COVID-19 *** this paper,a new framework of lightweight deep learning classifiers,namely COVID-LWNet is proposed to identify COVID-19 and pneumonia abnormalities in US *** to traditional deep learning models,lightweight CNNs showed significant performance of real-time vision applications by using mobile devices with limited hardware *** main lightweight deep learning models,namely MobileNets,ShuffleNets,MENet and MnasNet have been proposed to identify the health status of lungs using US *** image dataset(POCUS)was used to validate our proposed COVID-LWNet framework *** classes of infectious COVID-19,bacterial pneumonia,and the healthy lung were investigated in this *** results showed that the performance of our proposed MnasNet classifier achieved the best accuracy score and shortest training time of 99.0%and 647.0 s,*** paper demonstrates the feasibility of using our proposed COVID-LWNet framework as a new mobilebased radiological tool for clinical diagnosis of COVID-19 and other lung diseases.
