This paper presents Software Defined Radio (SDR) in RFID sensing applications focusing on wideband mixer and VGA design. The wideband receiver can support UHF, UWB band for commonly used long-range RFID standards ranging from 400MHz to 6GHz. The wideband mixer is of folded topology with switching biased technique, achieving a maximum 11.5dB conversion gain with only an 8dB DSB noise figure and 16dB flicker noise at 10kHz. The VGA utilizes a four-stage modified Cherry-Hopper amplifier, along with DC-offset cancelling and common-mode feedback. A maximum gain of 67dB can be achieved with more than 600MHz of bandwidth. The design is implemented in a 65nm CMOS process. The total power consumption of the mixer and the VGA is 7mW by simulation. The die area of these two blocks is 0.045mm 2 .

In this paper, we propose a new design for a low complexity floating-point complex multiplier for DSP applications. The design uses a three-term dot-product unit that reduces the overlapped portion found in a previous two-term fused dot-product unit. Comparisons with a primitive fused adder-subtract unit, a dot-product unit and combinations of these primitive units have also been performed. The synthesis results using a 45-nm standard-cell library shows a 16% reduction in area and a 6% reduction in power consumption as compared to a previous complex multiplier using two fused dot-product units.

Naive-Bayes algorithm acts as a key baseline of massive text classification, which is widely used in fields of detecting spam, online marketing and so on. Multicore processor is a suitable platform to implement Naive-Bayes because of its flexibility, high performance, and energy-efficiency. This paper proposes a new hopscotch hash scheme to improve the performance of data storing and indexing of Naive-Bayes algorithm, and presents a software implementation of Naive-Bayes text classification mapped in Topo-MapReduce model on a multicore processor with circuit switching and packet switching. Experimental results show that the improved hopscotch hash speeds up by 33% at maximum compared to the original hash, and the proposed Topo-MapReduce speeds up the Naive-Bayes algorithm by 29% at maximum compared to the original MapReduce.

This paper presents an ultra-low quiescent current output capacitor-less Low-dropout (LDO) regulator with a novel slew-rate-enhanced (SRE) circuit. By adopting the novel SRE circuit, the transient response of the regulator was improved apparently. Simulation results show that, the LDO regulator consumes a quiescent current of only 930nA at steady state.

Communication in quantum wireless multihop networks is useful in global quantum networks. We propose a scheme for faithful quantum communication in quantum wireless multihop networks, by performing quantum teleportation between two distant nodes which do not initially share entanglement with each other. The required entanglement among intermediate nodes is established through entanglement swapping based on arbitrary types of Bell pairs. All the measurement outcomes and the types of Bell pairs are sent to the destination node independently. The initial quantum state can be finally recovered by corresponding local operations. Our scheme can reduce end-to-end communication delay by using simultaneous measurements in contrast to the scheme based on sequential entanglement swapping.

The threshold voltage, V th , of a surrounding-gate (SG) Schottky-barrier (SB) metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) is investigated. An analytical expression for surface potential is obtained by solving Poisson's equation. Based on the potential model, an analytical expression for V th is achieved, with quantum mechanical effects and SB lowering effect included. It is found that V th will be raised by quantum mechanical effects and lowered by SB lowering effect. It is also found that, the influence of channel length on V th is complicated; when the channel length is 20 nm, V th is the smallest.

The properties of directly electroplated Cu on CoMo alloy diffusion barrier were analyzed by FPP, XRD and SEM. Comparison was made between electroplated Cu on CoMo with and without a seed layer. Also, the self-annealing behaviors of both direct electroplated Cu on CoMo and Cu/CoMo were investigated further. Due to the self-annealing process, the defects of directly electroplated Cu on CoMo are recovered resulting in a less resistance difference value between electrochemical deposited (ECD) Cu on CoMo and ECD Cu on Cu/CoMo.

Power Line Carrier communication is a fast-developing technology and finds many applications, such as automatic meter-reading system. However, as the one-hop communication distance is limited due to the channel attenuation and strong line noises, relay technology is necessary for PLC networking. Among all the relay methods, Ant Colony Algorithm is a promising one but still with some shortcomings, such as the long searching time and the inclination to find a local optimal solution. This article provided a simple but effective algorithm to make use of the available path information to speed up the searching process, and reach the global optimal path. Experiment results show the presented algorithm can improve convergence time by 13.5%.

A high performance 2T gain cell memory device is demonstrated for the first time in 0.13μm CMOS technology. A novel asymmetric source and drain doping profile combined with high threshold voltage (Vt) scheme for the write transistor is introduced to reduce the cell leakage and then improve data retention characteristics. Experimental results show a data retention of 698μs @85°C with 99.9% yield, which proves that the proposed 2T gain cell may be a very promising candidate for low cost and high density eDRAM application.

This paper proposes an image green enhancement method based on luminance and hue. In the current algorithm, there are two main issues, i.e., the presence of over-saturation and color deviation, which can not satisfy people's demands for stronger green enhancement. To solve these problems, the correct mathematical model about luminance on chrominance constraint relations is proposed and an appropriate product factor list is obtained. The MATlab simulation images show that the proposed method effectively enhances the green color and at the same time avoid the problems of over-saturation and color deviation.
