In this paper, the etching of VO x thin film in the diluted HF solution is investigated. It's revealed that the etching can effectively influence the film resistance but with a constant temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR). It is demonstrated that the metallic components in VO x film will be etched off and the TCR is highly related with the residual VO 2 and V 2 O 5 components, which can guide the TCR optimization for VO x based bolometer application.

This paper proposes a specialized convolver & correlator used for PN sequence in Chinese DTMB system [1]. It is a generic module which can achieve both convolution operation and correlation operation, so that we can reuse the module to reduce the whole area of the system. According to operational characteristics of PN sequences, we have adopted a new circuit structure so that the area of the module reduced by 83% and the power consumption reduced by about 78%.

Both oxygen (O 2 ) and argon (Ar) plasma treatments are carried out on the bottom-gate structured Mg-doped InZnO (MIZO) thin film transistors (TFTs) prepared by sol-gel method. It is found that the electrical properties of MIZO TFTS are greatly improved with the higher field effect mobility (μ FE ) and two orders of magnitude higher on/off current ratio under both kinds of plasma treatment.

In this work, the adhesion properties between different metal films, including Co, Mo, and novel single layer barrier - CoMo alloys with porous low-k dielectrics (k=2.3) have been investigated by using Four-point bending (FPB) tests for the first time. The results show that, Mo has the highest adhesion energy with porous low-k, while Co has the lowest among the test material including reference Ta/TaN. The adhesion ability between Co x Mo y films and low-k dielectrics is increased as the Mo concentration increases.

In this work, a highly parallel and flexible framework based on a multicore processor which is especially optimized for computation-intensive execution is proposed to accelerate motion estimation for HEVC. Using multilevel on-chip communication mechanism greatly enhances efficiency and flexibility of data exchange in motion estimation. Experimental results not only validate the feasibility of the framework, but also show that ME achieves 8.5 times speedup comparing to typical frameworks while 16 cores are utilized.

The next generation standard of coding, High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) aims to provide significantly improved compression performance in comparison with all existing video coding standards, such as MPEG-4, H.263, and H.264/AVC. The tool of rate-distortion optimization (RDO) mode decision has proven to be extremely important. Due to the increase in the number of intra prediction directions and large size of coding unit (CU), prediction unit (PU) and transform unit (TU), the number involved in RDO process rises dramatically, which is an extremely timing-and-computation-consuming process. In this paper, we propose a four-pixel-strip based ESAD and quantized TU coefficients based linear model to estimate the distortion and rate part of the RD cost function respectively. Experimental results show that the proposed RD cost function provides 85.8% area reduction and 1260% throughput improvement in hardware design, with negligible loss of bitrate and PSNR.

This paper considers the controllability of dynamic networks. Networks consist of a set of dynamic agents and links that describe the interconnection behavior between agents. These links can be described either by static gains, which we call static gain networks, or they can be described by dynamic transfer functions in which case they are dynamic gain networks. We consider a subset of one or more agents that act as control inputs to regulate the other remaining agents. A network can be described by a graph consisting of nodes and weighted edges. In previous work, tests for controllability for static graphs have been developed, and the results of controllability have been obtained. These results are based on the Laplacian matrices of the graph and some other graphical tools. This paper will consider a large class of networks where the links are dynamic systems. The main contribution of this paper is to test the controllability, based on extending the equitable partition technique to a dynamic gain networks. This technique was previously used for static gain networks. Finally, we illustrate our results with a practical application in robotics.

This paper describes a timing-skew calibration technique in the flash-assisted (FA) time-interleaved (TI) successive approximation register (SAR) ADC structure, which eliminate the phase error between the frontend Flash ADC's and the sub-SAR ADCs' sampling clocks. Based on the skew information detected by the redundant check bit implemented in Flash ADC, the clocks of the time-interleaved SAR ADCs are adaptively synchronized with that of the Flash ADC. This timing-skew calibration technique is easy for hardware realization, as only one check bit is used. The algorithm is effective in the under-sampling system, which is required by the time-interleaved sub-SAR ADCs.

Cu 2 O thin films were deposited on glass substrates by DC magnetron sputtering. The effects of the ratio of Ar/O 2 and sputtering pressure on the structure of the formed copper oxide films were investigated. It is found that with increase of O 2 ratio and sputtering pressure, the formed films change from a mixture of Cu and Cu 2 O to pure CuO film. It is also found that the film has a preferred Cu 2 O (200) orientation and cluster surface morphology. The fabricated p-Cu 2 O/n-IGZO heterojunction has a rectifying I-V characteristic and exhibits a response to UV illumination.

In comparison with the widely-used SIFT algorithm, it can be implemented easily, computed efficiently, while at the same time demonstrating high performance under various conditions including the transformation of rotation, scale, viewpoint, illumination and JPEG compression. Additionally, this descriptor's low dimensionality leads to lower memory usage.
