The hardware sample of multi-core data-flow recurrent architecture has been developed and tested on the digital signal processing domain. An analysis of the iterative algorithms execution results made it possible to propose a number of mechanisms to improve one of the components of the architecture - the Iterator. A significant problem in architecture programming is a high program redundancy produced by a significant number of special operands that are designed to control its internal resources. The Iterator component is designed to solve this issue, but its capabilities were not enough. The article presents the development results of the Iterator component. A description of the developed mechanisms to control the Iterator is provided. We demonstrate the results of the Iterator improvements using an example of the Viterbi algorithm for searching at hidden Markov models. The developed tools made it possible to nearly halve the volume of special operands and optimize the software implementation of the algorithm. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper covers the optimization research for the novel data-flow computational architecture called Hybrid Architecture of Recurrent Signal Processor. The testing methodology, based on the shift towards Test-Driven Development of architecture models, is provided. We cover the toolset developed to unify the methodology for both software and hardware models. The testing results are analyzed, and the issues are formulated. We propose the pipeline extension by splitting our largest component down. We show the new pipeline utilization ratio this solution provides. © 2020 IEEE.

Indication subcircuit is an essential part of the self-timed circuits. It provides acknowledgment of the self-timed circuit switching completion and ensures correct handshake interaction between functional blocks. Besides, indication subcircuit complexity is comparable with the indicated self-timed circuit's complexity. So short-term soft errors, induced by the external and internal causes in both the indication subcircuit and the indicated self-timed circuit, are equally dangerous. Indication subcircuit soft error tolerance depends, the first, on its immunity to soft errors in the indicated self-timed circuit and, the second, on its failure protection. The first aspect becomes lower critical due to the XOR cell on the first stage of the indication subcircuit. An appropriate circuitry basis decreases indication subcircuit sensitivity to the possible soft errors induced in it. Static and semi-static Muller's C-element is a traditional base component used for indication purposes. Its dual interlocked implementation improves the indication subcircuit failure protection against soft errors in its internal nodes, but not sufficiently. The article proposes a new C-element's schematic that fully tolerates it against the soft errors in all internal nodes. Besides, using C-elements with in-phase inputs and output in an indication pyramid ensures indication subcircuit protection against soft errors induced at the output of the C-elements. The proposed approach makes an indication subcircuit fully protected against all soft errors induced in it. © 2020 IEEE.

In this paper we compare the simulation results of two types of 1 infinite capacity queues with the implemented threshold-based renovation mechanism. As usual renovation implies probabilistic dropping of customers from the queue upon service completions. In the systems of the first type there is the threshold value (indication the queue length) which controls the activation of the renovation mechanism. In the systems of the second type the threshold value not only triggers the renovation, but also specifies the area in the queue wherefrom the customers cannot be dropped. For both types of systems the main stationary characteristics are obtained. Numerical results are also provided, which illustrate the performance of the queues for different sets of simulation parametres. A Survey of Label-Efficient Deep Learning for 3D Point Clouds

In the past decade, deep neural networks have achieved significant progress in point cloud learning. However, collecting large-scale precisely-annotated point clouds is extremely laborious and expensive, which hinders the scalability of existing point cloud datasets and poses a bottleneck for efficient exploration of point cloud data in various tasks and applications. Label-efficient learning offers a promising solution by enabling effective deep network training with much-reduced annotation efforts. This paper presents the first comprehensive survey of label-efficient learning of point clouds. We address three critical questions in this emerging research field: i) the importance and urgency of label-efficient learning in point cloud processing, ii) the subfields it encompasses, and iii) the progress achieved in this area. To this end, we propose a taxonomy that organizes label-efficient learning methods based on the data prerequisites provided by different types of labels. We categorize four typical label-efficient learning approaches that significantly reduce point cloud annotation efforts: data augmentation, domain transfer learning, weakly-supervised learning, and pretrained foundation models. For each approach, we outline the problem setup and provide an extensive literature review that showcases relevant progress and challenges. Finally, we share our views on the current research challenges and potential future directions. In this paper, a micro-MRC receiver with L branches operating in a correlated gamma-shadowed η-μ fading channel is considered. For such a system, the channel capacity (CC) is determined based on the maximum signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the L branches at the input of the MRC receiver. The results are presented graphically to illustrate the impact of different system parameters on performance and the improvements that result from the advantages of combined diversity. Additionally, we introduce the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) to make network experimentation more practical, using the previously presented expression as a case study. Moreover, a Vision Language Model (VLM) aided method aiming to make model-driven network design and experimentation more convenient is introduced and evaluated for the previously considered case study

In this short note, we introduce cospectral graphons, paralleling the notion of cospectral graphs. As in the graph case, we give three equivalent definitions: by equality of spectra, by equality of cycle densities, and by a unitary transformation. We also give an example of two cospectral graphons that cannot be approximated by two sequences of cospectral graphs in the cut distance. © 2024, CC BY.

Virtual reality (VR) has been celebrated for its immersive experiences, yet its potential for creating accessible and enjoyable environments for Blind and Low-Vision (BLV) individuals remains underexplored. Our project addresses this gap by developing a VR table tennis game specifically designed for BLV players. Utilizing an autoethnographic approach, our mixed-ability team, including three BLV co-designers, prototyped the game through rapid iterative testing and evaluation over four months. We integrated multi-sensory feedback mechanisms, such as spatial audio, haptic feedback, and high-contrast visuals, to enhance navigation and interaction. Our findings highlight the effectiveness of combining these modalities to create an enjoyable and realistic VR sports experience. However, we also identified challenges, such as the need for balanced sensory feedback to avoid overload. This study emphasizes the importance of inclusive design in VR gaming, offering new recreational opportunities for BLV individuals and setting the stage for future advancements in accessible VR technology.

Lookahead Exploration with Neural Radiance Representation for Continuous Vision-Language Navigation

Vision-and-language navigation (VLN) enables the agent to navigate to a remote location following the natural language instruction in 3D environments. At each navigation step, the agent selects from possible candidate locations and then makes the move. For better navigation planning, the lookahead exploration strategy aims to effectively evaluate the agent’s next action by accurately anticipating the future environment of candidate locations. To this end, some existing works predict RGB images for future environments, while this strategy suffers from image distortion and high computational cost. To address these issues, we propose the pre-trained hierarchical neural radiance representation model (HNR) to produce multi-level semantic features for future environments, which are more robust and efficient than pixel-wise RGB reconstruction. Furthermore, with the predicted future environmental representations, our lookahead VLN model is able to construct the navigable future path tree and select the optimal path via efficient parallel evaluation.
