A study is being conducted on the use of network management technologies and semantic databases in innovative solutions for logistics processes using unmanned aircraft systems when transporting products of technical systems that require repair, maintenance, modernization or implementation of innovative solutions. The main sources for the research are identified innovative solutions presented in the materials of scientific articles and in the descriptions of intellectual property objects - inventions, computer programs and databases created using these technologies. The task of creating an innovative scientific and technical solution has been set and is being solved, which allows automatically, until the moment the aircraft enters the zone subject to the negative influence of counteracting processes, including strong additive interference and multiplicative disturbances, to prevent a violation of the stability of the flight control of this vessel. The scientific result of the research is the novel dynamic functional model of the flight control process of an unmanned aircraft in a network of logistics routes. The main effect of the application of the novel model is to ensure the continuity of aircraft flight control in conditions of counteracting processes with the prospect of ensuring their autonomous flight. © 2023 IEEE.

The problem of ensuring economic security in the field of development and production of intelligent on-board systems is considered by choosing the optimal set of operations and measures of an organizational and technological nature, identifying and analyzing the cause-and-effect nature of threats and choosing adequate measures to counter them according to the criterion of optimal expected costs or maximum security with restrictions in the form of given allowable costs for them. Its solution is proposed by machine learning methods and evolutionary optimization algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

The main trends in the development of cloud computing architectures are considered. It is shown that the relevance of the scientific problem of ensuring interoperability in heterogeneous cloud computing is increasing. One of the ways to solve the problem of ensuring interoperability is standardization. The international and traditional scientific groundwork for ensuring interoperability is given. It is proposed, taking into account international works and traditional approach (organizational, semantic and technical levels), to search for and localize interoperability barriers, to calculate the interoperability indicator. The main algorithms for searching and localizing interoperability barriers for subsequent implementation in software are presented. The software layout allows you to calculate the interoperability index for three levels - technical, semantic, organizational. As an example of the practical application of the considered approach to managing interoperability, the subject area of e-health is proposed, which uses, among other things, cloud technologies. © 2023 IEEE.

Self-timed circuits have a number of advantages over synchronous counterparts. They are hazard-free under any conditions, and delay insensitive (their behavior does not depend on the cell's delays). They also detect any permanent fault. However, two-phase discipline (working state and spacer one) and obligatory indication subcircuit lead to some redundancy in ST circuit hardware. Practical ST circuit characteristics depend on the effectiveness of architectural, algorithmic and circuit solutions used during their design. This paper proposes and analyzes circuit solutions for the ST register implementations storing intermediate data. It discusses the implementation peculiarities of the ST storage register variants used in the ST pipeline and gives recommendations on their application. The paper proves that ST storage registers on Muller's C-elements have the best parameters compared with the register's implementations on RS-latch and RS-flip-flop. It is 1.5 - 2.1 times simpler than other possible implementations. Besides, it is invariant to the input spacer type up to the indication cell type. © 2022 IEEE.

Intelligent supply line surveillance is critical for modern smart grids. Smart sensors and gateway nodes are strategically deployed along supply lines to achieve intelligent surveillance. They collect data continuously and transmit it to the control centre in real-time. It enables real-time monitoring, fault detection, and efficient energy management across distribution networks. This advanced surveillance system ensures continuous monitoring of supply lines, detecting anomalies, and optimizing operations to maintain the stability and reliability of the smart grid. However, the reliance of all participating nodes on public communication channels to transmit supply line surveillance data exposes these systems to critical cyber attacks. These cyber attacks include impersonation, physical tampering, ephemeral secret leakage, and desynchronization attacks. To address these issues, existing key-exchange protocols often fail to ensure robust security while imposing high computation and communication overheads, limiting their practicality for resource-constrained environments. Therefore, we propose a secure and efficient key exchange and tamper-resistant authentication protocol using Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs). The PUF mechanism provides robust resistance against physical tampering and cloning attacks, ensuring enhanced physical security for supply line devices. We validate the security robustness of the devised protocol using the Random or Real (ROR) model. Furthermore, informal security analysis demonstrates the protocol's robustness in rigorously resisting various attacks, including physical tampering, impersonation, ephemeral secret leakage and desynchronization. Moreover, we determine the performance evaluation that reveals the protocol's superior efficiency compared to competing protocols, achieving significant reductions of 28.64% in computation overhead and 9.96% in communication overhead. © 2014 IEEE.

Older adults often struggle to meet their psychological needs due to retirement and living alone. Recent studies suggest that games featuring emotional challenge (EC) can help fulfill basic psychological needs such as autonomy, competence, and relatedness by facilitating emotional exploration. However, it remains unclear whether older adults can benefit from EC games, whether they find this genre enjoyable, and how these games should be designed to better meet their needs. This work explores older adults' experiences and perceptions of playing EC games through two studies. The first study involved playing Detroit: Become Human, revealing that older adults derived multifaceted psychological experiences from playing the game. The second study involved a custom-designed game scenario tailored to older adults, demonstrating that meaningful choices significantly influenced autonomy need satisfaction. Based on these findings, we offer five design guidelines for developing EC games that satisfy psychological needs of older adults. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Blood pressure estimation is crucial for early detection and prevention of many cardiovascular diseases. This paper explores the potential of the relatively new transformer architecture for accomplishing this task in the domain of biological signal processing. Several preceding studies of blood pressure estimation solely for PPG signals have had success with CNN and LSTM neural networks. In this study two types of transformer variants are considered: the time series and the convolutional vision transformers. The results obtained from our research indicate that this type of approach may be unsuitable for the task. However, further research is needed to make a definitive claim, since only simple transformer type are considered. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The current trend in microelectronics is to develop energy-efficient, reliable digital devices for control and life support systems with various complexities. The operation of digital circuits in adverse environmental conditions causes the appearance of faults and short-term soft errors, leading either to stopping the circuit's functioning or distorting the data processing results. The vast majority of digital circuits are synchronous, using a global clock signal to synchronize events and control the interaction of the overall circuit's parts. Self-timed (ST) circuits are an alternative to synchronous ones. ST circuits are hardware redundant compared to synchronous counterparts and have several advantages. In particular, ST circuits have better soft error tolerance. The article analyzes the tolerance of synchronous and ST pipelines to a single soft error. The obtained quantitative comparative probability estimates of data processing result distortion in the pipeline due to a soft error in different pipeline stage's parts prove that the ST pipeline is 2. 5-9.4 times less sensitive to single soft errors than its synchronous counterpart. Tripling a synchronous pipeline makes its complexity comparable to an ST pipeline but does not provide absolute protection against soft errors. Considering other advantages of the ST pipeline compared to the synchronous counterpart, improving its consumer characteristics, it is advisable to use the ST pipeline to implement reliable digital devices for critical applications. © 2022 IEEE.

Smart cities require the use of many different types of sensors to make the communication, and distance sensors are one of the most commonly used elements in transportation systems and related infrastructures. The introduction of increasingly advanced autonomous systems in many areas of smart cities requires high measurement precision of the sensors used. High precision is essential for proper operation, long-term use, and safety in machine-to-machine or machine-to-human interactions. This paper presents a comparison of the accuracy of distance measurements for two commercially available single-beam LiDARs and two ultrasonic sensors. The aim of the research was to develop a calibration method in order to improve the accuracy of distance sensors. Based on the collected distance measurements, the sensors were calibrated using selected machine learning algorithms. The results of the experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed calibration methods, which yield an average mean absolute error (MAE) of 1.76 E-05 meters (m) and a root mean square error (RMSE) of 1.33 E-04 m for the tested sensors. © 2023 IEEE.

Glass beads were among the most common grave goods in the Early Middle Ages, with an estimated number in the millions. The color, size, shape and decoration of the beads are diverse leading to many different archaeological classification systems that depend on the subjective decisions of individual experts. The lack of an agreed upon expert categorization leads to a pressing problem in archaeology, as the categorization of archaeological artifacts, like glass beads, is important to learn about cultural trends, manufacturing processes or economic relationships (e.g., trade routes) of historical times. An automated, objective and reproducible classification system is therefore highly desirable. We present a high-quality data set of images of Early Medieval beads and propose a clustering pipeline to learn a classification system in a data-driven way. The pipeline consists of a novel extension of deep embedded non-redundant clustering to identify multiple, meaningful clusterings of glass bead images. During the cluster analysis we address several challenges associated with the data and as a result identify high-quality clusterings that overlap with archaeological domain expertise. To the best of our knowledge this is the first application of non-redundant image clustering for archaeological data. © 2023 IEEE.
