Scale Invariance Feature Transform (SIFT) is quite suitable for image matching because of its invariance to image scaling, rotation and slight changes in illumination or viewpoint. However, due to high computation complexity it's technically challenging to deploy SIFT in real time application situations. To address this problem, we propose CLSIFT, an OpenCL based highly speeded up and performance portable SIFT solution. Important optimization techniques employed in CLSIFT such as: (1) For less global memory traffic, independent logical functions are merged into the same kernel to reuse data.(2) loop buffers are introduced in for data and intermediate results reusing.(3)Task queue used to schedule threads in the same branch to remove branch divergences. (4) Data partition is based on the statics patterns for workload balance among workgroups. (5) Overlap of CPU time and better parallel strategies are used too. With all mentioned efforts, CLSIFT processes lena. jpg at 74.2 FPS and 43.4FPS respectively on NVidia and AMD GPUS, much higher than CPU's nearly 10 FPS and the known fastest SIFTGPU's 39.8 FPS and 13FPS. Moreover in a quantitative comparison approach we analyze those successful strategies beating SIFTGPU, a famous existing GPU implementation. Additionally, we observe and conclude that NVidia GPU achieves better occupancy and performance due to some factors. Finally, we summarize some techniques and empirical guiding principles that may be shared by other applications on GPU. © 2013 IEEE.

Cooperation is a fundamental aspect of biological systems and human *** this work,we propose a generalized prisoner's dilemma quantum game and study the game on Watts-Strogatz small-world network(WS model) with different values of *** entanglement is used as a metaphor to study relationship between *** a single step,each player has three strategies to choose: cooperation,defection and adopting a special quantum strategy first introduced by Eisert(denoted by Q).The person who chooses the quantum strategy Q can be regarded as a super *** prisoner's dilemma game,cooperation is very hard to emerge on relatively homogeneous networks,such as random graphs and WS *** experimental results show that in generalized prisoners dilemma quantum game,entanglement can guarantee emergence of super cooperators and greatly increase the payoff of the whole *** on homogeneous networks with very large inducement value(b is close to 2),the frequency of cooperators can still exceeds 70%.This work provides a new insight into understanding cooperation when considering the role of relationship between cooperators.

Semantic computing aims to connect the intention of humans with computational content. We present a study of a problem of this type: extract information from large number of similar linguistic web resources to compute various aggregations (sum, average,...). In our motivating example we calculate the sum of injured people in traffic accidents in a certain period in a certain region. We restrict ourselves to pages written in Czech language. Our solution exploits existing linguistic tools created originally for a syntactically annotated corpus, Prague Dependency Treebank (PDT 2.0). We propose a solutions which learns tree queries to extract data from PDT2.0 annotations and transforms the data in an ontology. This method is not limited to Czech language and can be used with any structured linguistic representation. We present a proof of concept of our method. This enables to compute various aggregations over linguistic web resources. © 2008 IEEE.

In the last decade, special attention has been made toward the automated analysis of human activity and other related fields. Cricket, as a research field, has of late received more attention due to its increased popularity. The cricket domain currently lacks datasets, specifically relating to cricket strokes. The limited datasets restrict the amount of research within the environment. In the study, this research paper proposes a scene recognition model to recognize frames with a cricket batsman. Two different classes are addressed, namely;the gameplay class and the stroke class. Two pipelines were evaluated;the first pipeline proposes the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm, which undergoes data capturing, feature extraction using histogram of oriented gradients and lastly classification. The Support Vector Machine (SVM) model yielded an accuracy of 95.441%. The second pipeline is the AlexNet Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture, which underwent data capturing, data augmentation that includes rescaling and shear zoom followed by feature extraction and classification using AlexNet. The AlexNet architecture performed exceptionally well, producing a model accuracy of 96.661%. The AlexNet pipeline is preferred over the Support Vector Machine pipeline for the domain. By recognizing a significant event, that is when a stroke and none stoke (gameplay) scene is recognized. The model is able to filter only relevant footage from large volumes of data, which is then later used for analysis. The research proves there is value in exploring deep-learning methods for scene recognition. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Ontology matching is usually performed to find semantic correspondences between the entity elements of different ontologies to enable interoperability. Current research on ontology matching has largely focused on representation learning. However, there still exist two limitations. Firstly, they are only used in the element level matching phase, ignoring relations of the entity. Secondly, the final alignment threshold is usually determined manually within these methods. It is difficult for an expert to adjust the threshold value and even more for non-expert user. To address these issues, we propose an alternative ontology matching framework, which models the matching process by embedding techniques with jointly encoding ontology terminological description and network structure. We further improve our iterative final alignment method by introducing an automatic adjustment of threshold method. Finally, we perform an experimental evaluation and compare it with state-of-The-Art ontology matching systems on four Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI) datasets. Our approach performs better than most of the systems and achieves a competitive performance. Moreover, we obtained F-measure values of 93.8% and 90.8% on the OAEI Large Biomedical Ontologies FMA-NCI and FMA-SNOMED subtasks. © 2020 ACM.

Developers usually use in-memory data caching system like Hazelcast with the application server to offload the backend database for scaling Internetware. Unfortunately, such caches do not integrate well with the database or the application. Developers need to take a large effort to rewrite the existing data access logic and manually manage the caching data. In this paper, we present EasyCache, a novel data caching approach, which provides transparent cache pre-loading, accessing and consistency maintenance to relieve developers of the burden of cache using and management. First, EasyCache translates each row of data in the existing database table into application cached object to pre-load cache data. Second, EasyCache allows applications to access the data cache using SQL statements and translates them into key/value based cache operations. Finally, EasyCache provides asynchronous/synchronous strategies to persist the cache data changes into the backend database. We design and implement EasyCache as a JDBC driver with Hazelcast as the caching layer. To evaluate our prototype, a detailed set of experiments were performed using the TPC-W benchmark. In the experiments, the only programming effort with EasyCache is point the application to the EasyCache JDBC driver. In contrast, when using Hazelcast as a traditional application-level caching system, we need to modify the TPC-W code over 2000 lines for 15 man days. Our experiments also show that, compared to a system with no cache and with query result cache, using EasyCache leads to up to 692× and 77× performance improvement respectively. © 2014 ACM.

We give a local algorithm to extract dense bipartite-like subgraphs which characterize cyber-communities in the Web [13]. We use the bipartiteness ratio of a set as the quality measure that was introduced by Trevisan [20]. Our algorithm, denoted as FindDenseBipartite (v,s,θ), takes as input a starting vertex v, a volume target s and a bipartiteness ratio parameter θ and outputs an induced subgraph of G. It is guaranteed to have the following approximation performance: for any subgraph S with bipartiteness ratio θ, there exists a subset Sθ ⊆ S such that vol(S θ) ≥ vol(S)/9 and that if the starting vertex v ∈ Sθ and s ≥ vol(S), the algorithm FindDenseBipartite (v,s,θ) outputs a subgraph (X,Y) with bipartiteness ratio O(√θ). The running time of the algorithm is O(s2(Δ + logs)), where Δ is the maximum degree of G, independent of the size of G. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

IEEE 802.1 le can provide quality of service guarantees for different kinds of traffic such as voice and video. The access categories are defined with different priority levels and the contention-free bursting mechanism is introduced to improve the transmission efficiency. In this paper, a coloured Petri net model is built for the protocol, capturing all its crucial aspects. Some techniques can be used to facilitate the modeling process and reduce the model size, including hierarchical and modularized modeling, folding, modeling patterns, etc. The model can be simulated to compute some metrics for performance analysis. The accuracy of the model is validated through comparisons with, the simulator NS-2.

Solid textures exhibit several benefits over traditional texture mapping, such as no demanding for parameterization and providing internal information. However, the difficulty in accessing and high memory consumption seriously limit the usage of solid textures. We present an efficient approach to directly synthesize vector solid textures comprising 3D particles from 2D examples. Two-scale shaping model is introduced to automatically and accurately reconstruct 3D particle outlines from 2D cross sections. Low frequency spherical harmonics are used to morph smooth outlines while high frequency ones model particle surface details. These outlines are further converted to signed distance field grids for vector representation. Particle volume color is represented by radial basis functions. We arrange particles using simplified particle proxies to improve efficiency. Particles' position offsets are calculated according to the particle itself and one-ring neighbor particles' shapes iteratively. Finally, our cell-building algorithm constructs containers and computes scale for each particle instance. Experiments show that our algorithm can generate vector solid textures with plausible 3D particles. © 2015 ACM.
