The provision of accurate electricity price forecast is crucial for all electricity market players to encourage power generation and consumption decisionmaking. Since electricity price time sequence behavior is highly non-linear and seasonal, deep neural networks are the best model for learning non-linear data behavior for the purpose of prediction. This paper utilizes a Long-short term memory (LSTM) neural network-based model for forecasting the electricity settlement price which can successfully identity nonlinear behavior within the input data. The proposed model uses an Adam optimizer for less memory usage. ERCOT wholesale market price data along with load and temperature data have been used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed model. Model performance is tested, and the electricity price forecasting model is verified and validated. © 2023 IEEE.

In addition to the adsorption and immobilization capacities of iron-modified biochars,these materials produce persistent free radicals(PFRs)that can carry out metal[i.e.,Cr(VI)]redox transformations,but the primary forms and active species of PFRs involved are not well ***,we investigated the key species of PFRs ofα-Fe2O3-modified biochar(MBC)and their influence on Cr(VI)reduction under anaerobic conditions simulating paddy soil *** produced bulk phenoxyl PFRs that promoted Cr(VI)reduction due to the catalytic effect of the transition metal *** addition,MBC was more efficient in reducing Cr(VI)under anaerobic conditions than under aerobic conditions due to the more active and accessible dissolved PFRs present in the dissolved organic matter(DOM).The electron transfer capacity of DOM was demonstrated by excitation-emission matrix(EEM)spectrophotometry combined with parallel factor analysis,which showed that the protein-like and humic-like components of DOM were involved in Cr(VI)***,Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry(FTICR-MS)analysis indicated that reduced-S compounds(O/S<4)and carboxylic acid(-COO)groups in the unsaturated aliphatic and lignin-like compounds are potentially the main active species accelerating Cr(VI)reduction under anaerobic *** results provide new insights into the role of dissolved PFRs from iron-modified biochar in promoting Cr(VI)reduction under anaerobic conditions such as flooded soils.

Learning-Based Predictive control of Switched Nonlinear Systems via Koopman Modeling Approach

This paper proposes a data-driven learning-based approach to predictive control for switched nonlinear systems subject to state and control constraints and external stochastic disturbances. A switched Koopman modeling framework is developed, where a multi-mode neural network for state lifting is trained simultaneously with Koopman operators and state reconstruction matrices for all *** framework facilitates the construction of the switched linear Koopman model in a transformed space and effectively captures the dynamics of the original nonlinear system. A switched predictive control strategy is then designed to regulate the switched Koopman model with constrained states and control inputs against both the stochastic disturbances and the uncertainties introduced by the lifting neural network. The proposed control scheme ensures mean-square stability and guarantees boundedness during the online phase. Furthermore, boundedness analysis is performed to determine the bounded set of the original system state across all admissible switching sequences. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is demonstrated through a case study of a gene regulatory network.

Accurately diagnosing Alzheimer's disease is essential for improving elderly ***,accurate prediction of the mini-mental state examination score also can measure cognition impairment and track the progression of Alzheimer's ***,most of the existing methods perform Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and mini-mental state examination score prediction separately and ignore the relation between these two *** address this challenging problem,we propose a novel multi-task learning method,which uses feature interaction to explore the relationship between Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and minimental state examination score *** our proposed method,features from each task branch are firstly decoupled into candidate and non-candidate parts for ***,we propose feature sharing module to obtain shared features from candidate features and return shared features to task branches,which can promote the learning of each *** validate the effectiveness of our proposed method on multiple *** Alzheimer's disease neuroimaging initiative 1 dataset,the accuracy in diagnosis task and the root mean squared error in prediction task of our proposed method is 87.86%and 2.5,*** results show that our proposed method outperforms most state-of-the-art *** proposed method enables accurate Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and mini-mental state examination score ***,it can be used as a reference for the clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease,and can also help doctors and patients track disease progression in a timely manner.

Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory Similarity Join

With the widespread deployment of indoor positioning systems, an unprecedented scale of indoor trajectories is being produced. By considering the inherent uncertainties and the text information contained in such an indoor trajectory, a new definition named Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory is defined in this paper. In this paper, we focus on a new primitive, yet quite essential query named Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory Similarity Join (IUST-Join for short), which is to match all similar pairs of indoor uncertain semantic trajectories from two sets. IUST-Join targets a number of essential indoor applications. With these applications in mind, we provide a purposeful definition of an indoor uncertain semantic trajectory similarity metric named IUS. To process IUST-Join more efficiently, both an inverted index on indoor uncertain semantic trajectories named 3IST and the first acceleration strategy are proposed to form a filtering-and-verification framework, where most invalid pairs of indoor uncertain semantic trajectories are pruned at quite low computation cost. And based on this filtering-and-verification framework, we present a highly-efficient algorithm named Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory Similarity Join Processing (USP for short). In addition, lots of novel and effective acceleration strategies are proposed and embedded in the USP algorithm. Thanks to these techniques, both the time complexity and the time overhead of the USP algorithm are further reduced. The results of extensive experiments demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed work.
