There are some limitations when environment model of AS-R mobile robot is obtained by only using a separate CCD camera or ultrasonic sensor array. The BP neural network is designed to fuse information of the two sensors to obtain the robot's environment model in this paper. The input of BP neural network is the intercept and slope of the edge line obtained CCD camera and ultrasonic sensor arrays, which is processed by through the global coordinates of coordinate transformation. The output of BP network is the fused intercept and slope of the straight edge. Experiment shows that environment model is feasible for the AS-R mobile robot and the environment modeling method has more reliability and accuracy.

In order to follow the development of image interpretation and data-processing system in photoelectric measurement equipments, a kind of hardware acceleration system is designed where MIMD distributed multi-processor architecture is used with SOPC technology. System hardware is composed of FPGA, SDRAM, SRAM, FLASH, and PCI bridge chip. Four Nios II embedded processors are integrated in a single FPGA chip, and communicate with each other by sharing memory. Experimental results indicate that the system meets the requirements of data-processing system in photoelectric measurement equipments and possesses practical significance for engineering applications.

Image segmentation is a classical problem in the area of image processing, motion estimation, and soon. Although there exist a lot of clustering based approaches to perform image segmentation, few of them study how to obtain more accurate image segmentation results by designing a suitable clustering method. In this paper, we select an appropriate distance measure in the composite feature space of color and texture. Then the distance measure is incorporated in a clustering method that utilizes the spatial information of each feature vector. Finally, the proposed scheme performs morphology filtering to obtain the final segmented regions. Experimental results show that proposed scheme can constantly achieve higher segmentation accuracy compared to some state-of-art image segmentation algorithms.

This paper introduces a novel approach of watermarking for copyright protection applications using the singular value decomposition (SVD) in the dual tree complex wavelet transform (DT-CWT) domain. After applying the 2-level DT-CWT to the cover grayscale image, we apply the SVD to each high-pass subband obtained. The singular values in each subband are then modified by the singular values of the DT-CWT-transformed visual watermark. Modification in all subbands allows the development of a watermarking scheme that is robust to a wide range of attacks. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed watermarking scheme is highly robust to various attacks.

In this paper, we propose a relevant feedback algorithm based on supervised classification and unsupervised feature extraction using independent component analysis (ICA). First, we calculate the approximate coefficients of video frames in a single shot by two-level Haar wavelet decomposition; second,ICA is utilized to obtain the independent components of the wavelet coefficients, which are used to represent video frames. Simulation results demonstrated the validity of the algorithm.
