Grid forming technology is a promising solution for the stability of high penetrated renewable power system. To enable the grid forming capability on type-IV wind turbine, the dC storage system can be added to the dC-link of the back-to-back converter. In this paper, the grid forming capabilities of this type of wind turbine are demonstrated by control hardware in-the-loop tests. The voltage source behavior, inertia, damping and weak grid adaptability of the grid forming type-IV wind turbine are analyzed. Then a large trial involving an entire wind farm is conducted. To the author's knowledge, this is the world's first grid forming wind farm of type-IV wind turbine with dC storage system. The grid forming capability performance of the prototype is analyzed. © 2024 IEEE.

Terpenoids, a high-value natural product family in nature, have garnered significant attention due to their diverse pharmaceutical activities. However, the current supply of most structurally complex terpenoids relies predominantly on plant extraction, and supply insufficiency has become a critical challenge. In this study, targeting the sesquiterpene synthase PoTPS01 from Platycladus orientalisi, we screened efficient expression cassettes through promoter engineering and achieved, for the first time, the biosynthesis of β-himachalene in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, with an initial titer of 1.11 mg/L. To further enhance production, we employed strategies including utilizing a fusion protein expression approach and optimizing fermentation conditions, ultimately increasing the β-himachalene titer to 2.12 g/L. Furthermore, we conducted an in-depth investigation into the bioactivity of β-himachalene and discovered its significant antiviral activity against Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 (HSV-1). β-himachalene effectively inhibited the viral titer of both wild-type and acyclovir-resistant HSV-1 strains, exerting its inhibitory effect during the early stages of viral replication. This research not only provides a novel strategy for the biosynthesis of other high-value plant natural products but also paves new avenues for the development of novel drugs based on sesquiterpenoids. © 2025 The Authors

Optical access networks have been widespread worldwide as a means of realizing high-speed Internet connection services. They have been standardized by international organizations, and there is a trend towards increasing sophistication with the aim to increase speed and expand into various industrial fields. In this paper, authors summarize the trends in expansion of capacity and sophistication, introduce technical issues based on a representative example of sophistication, propose architecture and method for the issues. The authors implement and evaluate prototyping of a low-latency transfer system of optical access network that is connected to mobile networks. © 2023 IEEE.

In response to the needs of fields such as intersatellite high-speed communication, relay bidirectional high-speed data transmission, ground data transmission, ground measurement and control, and comprehensive information processing, a series of key microsystem technologies-namely, high-performance broadband radiofrequency (rF) information-processing microsystem architecture design, high-density packaging integration design of rF digital heterogeneous signals, and advanced microsystem packaging technology-is being adopted. The purpose is to verify autonomous and controllable high-performance broadband rF information-processing microsystem products and usher in intelligent aerospace communication systems. devising solutions to the bottleneck problem of localization and microminiaturization promoted the development and reformation of systems;led to wireless communication applications in multiple frequency bands and formats;fulfilled the application requirements of integrated information-processing platforms including onboard resource management, task scheduling, and computer multitasking;and satisfied the criteria for the new generation of aerospace engineering, which emphasizes high-performance real-time broadband rF information-processing miniaturization, as well as autonomous and controllable applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Inflammation plays an important role in the occurrence and development of many inflammatory *** purpose of this study was to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effect and metabolic behavior of the dual targeting procyanidins(PC)nanoparticles on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated inflammatory macrophages by metabolomics *** double-targeting PC nanoparticles could specifi cally target both the Cd44 receptor and mitochondria,while the single targeting PC-loaded nanoparticles that could target the Cd44 receptor on the surface of *** double-targeting PC nanoparticles had better inhibitory effect than single-targeting PC nanoparticles on the leakage of lactate dehydrogenase and reactive oxygen species overexpression induced by *** acid metabolism,energy metabolism and purine metabolism were disordered in LPS-treated group,and metabolic pathway analysis indicated that the double-targeting PC nanoparticles reversed some of LPS *** changes of these potential biomarkers and their corresponding pathways are helpful to further understand the mechanism of PC nanoparticles in alleviating inflammation,and promote their application in nutrition intervention.

With the rise of big data, the planning and management of intelligent distribution networks have ushered in new development opportunities. Through the comprehensive integration, in-depth analysis, and effective mining of a large amount of heterogeneous data in the distribution network, various problems and challenges encountered in the planning process of intelligent distribution networks can be effectively addressed. However, this process relies on powerful computing power as support. This study focuses on exploring methods for deploying distributed computing communication in cluster environments to efficiently, flexibly, and reliably perform various tasks. By analysing the calculation time of actual power grid planning data, this study verifies the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed distributed computing architecture and communication design scheme. © 2024 IEEE.

High performance e-motors require a continuous enhancement of physical and mechanical properties for non-oriented electrical steel(NOES).However,the optimization of mechanical and magnetic properties simultaneously during NOES processing is extremely challenging where both properties directly influenced by alloy grain size,crystallographic texture,and dislocation *** the current investigation,recrystallization annealing cycles were employed to modify the microstructure with the aim of balance magnetic and mechanical properties of NOES *** results showed that with increasing annealing temperatures,the degree of recrystallization and grain size increased,while the dislocation density reduced considerably at the early stage of ***,the values of texture parameter A*_(overall)(which is a function of overall individual grain orientations and their alignments with easy magnetization directions)were *** was evident that the magnetic properties were significantly improved,however the alloy strength was reduced with increasing annealing ***,the correlation between magnetic properties as well as alloy strength on grain size,texture,and dislocation density were *** crystallographic texture intensity and measured properties quantitative analyses it was concluded that grain size was the predominant factor in balancing the mechanical and magnetic properties of the studied ***,the optimal comprehensive properties(both magnetic and mechanical)were achieved by annealing at 800℃,which yielded a magnetic induction B5000 of 1.616 T,a high-frequency iron loss P_(1.0/400)of 22.43 W/kg,and a yield strength of 527 MPa.

Fault diagnosis methods for specific fault models might cause misprediction or sometimes cannot provide any solution. Therefore, a fault diagnosis method based on a single universal logical fault model has been proposed, which utilizes multi-cycle capture test sets for scan-designed circuits. Although it has been reported that this method can accurately estimate locations of faults, this method still has problems on the number of suspected faulty lines as well as incapability of specifying defect types. In this paper, targeting fault locations diagnosed under the single universal logical fault model, we propose an estimation method of defect types using artificial neural networks. In the proposed method, the features corresponding to the major logical fault models (i.e., stuck-at fault, dominant bridging fault, open fault, and gate-exhaustive fault) are calculated from the fault diagnosis results for a single universal logical fault model and the logic simulation results. defect types are estimated from the calculated features by using an artificial neural network. Experimental results for benchmark circuits showed that the proposed method achieved the accuracy more than 95%. © 2023 IEEE.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the elongation rate of wallpaper required to prevent wallpaper from breaking in wooden houses due to medium earthquakes. For this purpose, it is necessary to clarify the relationship between the elongation rate of wallpaper and the interlaminar deformation angle at which the wallpaper breaks. However, there is no defined method to measure the elongation rate of wallpaper. Therefore, this study first aimed to establish a method to measure the elongation rate of wallpaper and conducted three types of tensile tests. In addition, a shear test was conducted to reproduce the original tearing of the wallpaper, and the results were compared with those of the tensile test to verify which tensile test results are valid as a measurement method. © 2023 13th World Conference on Timber Engineering, WCTE 2023. In today’s world, it is becoming essential to be able to complete the authentication steps and provide the access to computer systems or other resources without having to require specific proximity or neutral expressions. Modern multiview facial authentication and access control often involve the ability to capture a face from the front or from the side and use these views for authentication and access control. This paper explores various cases of implementation of effective authentication and access control for human users without considering specific context, proximity, and environmental factors. Access control represents a crucial task in application areas such as surveillance, proof of identity, and tracking. While significant research has been conducted in the direction of human authentication and access control, completing authentication with an explainable process is still far from being perfect under the currently deployed techniques. This is mainly due to depending on machine learning to create behind-the-scene calculations that the user may not fully understand. Another issue is the requirement of distance approximation to the device and possibly a neutral posture or facial expressions of the user as discussed in discussed cases. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
