This paper presents a track error (TE) detection system for a readout of a higher-density super-resolution optical disc beyond Blu-ray disc™, unaccompanied by its complication, based on a differential phase detection method. In order to study the fatigue fracture behavior of the rear axle of certain China-made car, the strain loading spectrum near the rear axle fracture location is collected, the modified Neuberrule and the cyclic stress-strain hysteresis loop curve equation are used to convert the nominal strain his- tory into the local stress-strain response. The impact of mean stress on fatigue damage is corrected according to the Manson-Coffin model, and programming calculation of the fatigue damage of the fracture crack is conducted in the INFIELd software, the electromagnetic vibrators are used to sweep the vibration modal frequencies of the rear axle and car body. The enhancement test and fre- quency sweep results show that the rear axle fatigue damage mainly concentrates on the washboardroad, and when the forced vibration excitation frequency is 24. 07 Hz, the vibration modal frequency of the rear axle is close to the excitation frequency of the washboardroad, leading to resonance and making the rear axle subjected to large strain and fatigue damage, and then vibration fatigue fracture due to high stress concentration.

BSIM6 is the new Compact Model Coalition (CMC) standard bulk MOSFET model. It offers excellent fitting capability, accurate rF/analog simulations, and similar implementation features of the small dimension effects as included in the popular BSIM4 model. These features make BSIM6 a very desirable candidate for future nano-MOSFET simulations. In this work we evaluate the capabilities of the model and perform benchmark tests to assess the strengths of the model. Bulk 90nm technology MOSFET data is used to extract BSIM6 for analog/rF specific applications. Industry standard benchmark tests have been performed andresults shown against the hardware data (where applicable). The model is found to correlate very well with hardware data and passes all important model quality benchmark tests for analog/rF applications.

This paper proposes some modifications of the COST 231 Walfisch-Ikegami (WI) model to reflect the information related to building and terrain heights of practical environments. Based on the modified WI model, a dual slope propagation model is developed for small cells with electrical and mechanical tilt. To validate the proposed model, propagation measurements are performed in a metropolitan area using commercially deployed small cells. We suggest a procedure to compute the path loss from measurement data considering transmit antenna beam patterns, anddetermine the break point for the proposeddual slope model using measurement results. Finally, the proposed model is compared through data analysis with conventional propagation prediction models in terms of root mean square deviation (rMSd).

The resonance-based wireless power transfer technique is applied to biomedical devices implanted in the human body. The wireless power transfer system is designed for maximum power transfer into a small receiving coil of 10-mm radius at the 50-mm transferdistance. The power transfer efficiency from the transmitting resonant coil outside the phantom into the receiving resonant coil inside the phantom is calculated with varying the size of the free space placing the receiver in the phantom. The results represent that securing the free space surrounding the receiver in the phantom is closely related to the power transfer efficiency and absorbed electromagnetic energies in the human body.

This paperreports a stator shape optimization design forreducing the cogging torque of single-phase brushless dC motor adopting an asymmetric air-gap to make them self-starting. Time step 2d-finite element analysis (FEA) was carried out to analyze the characteristics of a single-phase brushless dC motor. To reduce the cogging torque and maintain the efficiency and torque, the Kriging model based on Latin hypercube sampling (LHS) and a genetic algorithm (GA) were used. As an optimal design result, the cogging torque on the optimal model was reduced. Finally, the analysis and optimal design results were confirmed by FEA and the experimental results.

SOI devices are of great interest in aerospace applications for their candidate in radiation hardened solutions. Hot carrier effects are investigated in H shaped partially depleted SOI based NMOSFET. We analyze different responses fordifferent bias conditions. The experimental results show that the high gate anddrain voltage condition is the worst case for body tied H shaped SOI-NMOS. After 2000 seconds stress in room temperature, the device physical parameters' degradations show clearly different from maximum substrate current stress condition (VG≈=0.5Vd) that is transconductance increasing with the stress time.
