There is no reasonable scientific basis for selecting the excellent teachers of the school’s *** solve the practical problem,we firstly give a series of normalization models for defining the key attributes of teachers’professional foundation,course difficulty coefficient,and comprehensive evaluation of ***,we define a partial weight function to calculate the key attributes,and obtain the partial recommendation ***,we construct a highly sparse Teaching Recommendation Factorization Machines(TRFMs)model,which takes the 5-tuples relation including teacher,course,teachers’professional foundation,course difficulty,teaching evaluation as the feature vector,and take partial recommendation value as the recommendation ***,we design a novel Top-N excellent teacher recommendation algorithm based on TRFMs by course classification on the highly sparse *** results show that the proposed TRFMs and recommendation algorithm can accurately realize the recommendation of excellent teachers on a highly sparse historical teaching *** recommendation accuracy is superior to that of the three-dimensional tensor decomposition model algorithm which also solves sparse *** proposed method can be used as a new recommendation method applied to the teaching arrangements in all kinds of schools,which can effectively improve the teaching quality.

Detection of atmospheric carbon dioxide with air-lasing-based coherent Raman spectroscopy

Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) is recognized as a powerful technique for chemical sensing, biological imaging, and combustion diagnostics, but it is rarely used in atmospheric detection due to complex multi-beam configuration and fine spatio-temporal control. Air lasing provides an attractive probe source for CARS, largely simplifying its implementation. Herein, we successfully detected atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO) using air-lasing-based CARS spectroscopy and quantified its concentration to be 485.5 ppm and 502.0 ppm based on two CARS signals. The measured concentrations exhibit relative errors of 0.6% and 2.7% compared to the result obtained from a commercial gas analyzer. The detection limit reaches 43 ppm, which is one order of magnitude lower than previous results. The precision exhibits a nearly quadratic decay, gradually stabilizing at a constant value as the concentration increases. The precision for atmospheric CO detection ranges from 9% to 10%. The developed spectroscopy holds great potential in standoff detection of air pollutants, biological agents, and radioactive substances.

Exploring Channel Estimation and Signal Detection for ODDM-based ISAC Systems

Inspired by providing reliable communications for high-mobility scenarios, in this letter, we investigate the channel estimation and signal detection in integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems based on the orthogonal delay-Doppler multiplexing (ODDM) modulation, which consists of a pulse-train that can achieve the orthogonality with respect to the resolution of the delay-Doppler (DD) plane. To enhance the communication performance in the ODDM-based ISAC systems, we first propose a low-complexity approximation algorithm for channel estimation, which addresses the challenge of the high complexity from high resolution in the ODDM modulation, and achieves performance close to that of the maximum likelihood estimator scheme. Then, we employ the orthogonal approximate message-passing scheme to detect the symbols in the communication process based on the estimated channel information. Finally, simulation results show that the detection performance of ODDM is better than other multi-carrier modulation schemes. To address communication latency issues, the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has defined Cellular-Vehicle to Everything (C-V2X) technology, which includes Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication for direct vehicle-to-vehicle communication. However, this method requires vehicles to autonomously select communication resources based on the Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) protocol, which may lead to collisions due to different vehicles sharing the same communication resources, thereby affecting communication effectiveness. Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) is considered a potential solution for handling large-scale vehicle communication, as it can enhance the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) by employing Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC), thereby reducing the negative impact of communication collisions. When evaluating vehicle communication performance, traditional metrics such as reliability and transmission delay present certain contradictions. Introducing the new metric Age of Information (AoI) provides a more comprehensive evaluation of communication system. Additionally, to ensure service quality, user terminals need to possess high computational capabilities, which may lead to increased energy consumption, necessitating a trade-off between communication energy consumption and effectiveness. Given the complexity and dynamics of communication systems, Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) serves as an intelligent learning method capable of learning optimal strategies in dynamic environments. Therefore, this paper analyzes the effects of multi-priority queues and NOMA on AoI in the C-V2X vehicular communication system and proposes an energy consumption and AoI optimization method based on DRL. Finally, through comparative simulations with baseline methods, the proposed approach demonstrates its advances in terms of energy consumption and AoI. © 2017 IEEE.

Two-dimensional (2D) Luneburg lenses are attracting increasing research interest due to their unique beam collimation and steering capabilities. This paper explores the design and potential applications of a 2D Luneburg lens using PLA (polylactic acid) as the 3D printing material. Unlike the conventional Luneburg lens with different dielectric layers, we propose a design that utilizes only one material, and the refractive indices are varied by introducing air voids inside the substrate without compromising the structural or mechanical integrity of the lens. When fed with a waveguide, the proposed lens works in the X-band with a combined gain of approximately 12.7 dBi when fed by a waveguide. The lens was fabricated and verified by measurements.

Through a series of federal initiatives and orders, the U.S. Government has been making a concerted effort to ensure American leadership in AI. These broad strategy documents have influenced organizations such as the United States department of the Air Force (DAF). The DAF-MIT AI Accelerator is an initiative between the DAF and MIT to bridge the gap between AI researchers and DAF mission requirements. Several projects supported by the DAF-MIT AI Accelerator are developing public challenge problems that address numerous Federal AI research priorities. These challenges target priorities by making large, AI-ready datasets publicly available, incentivizing open-source solutions, and creating a demand signal for dual use technologies that can stimulate further research. As demand response becomes increasing used as a tool to support improved grid flexibility, it is important to consider that there are many potential types of energy end uses that have the potential to be used to support such flexibility. Residential appliances, often accounting for 30% or more of residential energy use, are a currently untapped source of demand flexibility, when aggregated together. To date there has been very limited analysis of residential appliances for use as grid-interactive loads. As such, this research uses disaggregated energy end use data for 564 homes, to model the electricity demand flexibility potential of the use of residential dishwashers, clothes washers, clothes dryers, ovens, and ranges on both weekdays and weekends. This includes both at the building level, as well as aggregated to the grid level, specifically the MISO region. Findings suggest that among the studied appliances, clothes dryers provide the greatest demand reduction potential for most times of the day, followed by dishwashers and clothes washers. When considering the willingness of households to participate, based on a survey of households in the Midwest region, clothes dryers still have the most potential for demand reduction. © 2022, The Authors. This paper studies the routing problem in a cognitive unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm (CU-SWARM), which employs the cognitive radio into a swarm of UAVs within a three-layer hierarchical aerial-ground integrated network architecture for emergency communications. In particular, the flexibly converged architecture utilizes a UAV swarm and a high-altitude platform to support aerial sensing and access, respectively, over the disaster-affected areas. We develop a Q-learning framework to achieve the intelligent routing to maximize the utility for CU-SWARM. To characterize the reward function, we take into account both the routing metric design and the candidate UAV selection optimization. The routing metric jointly captures the achievable rate and the residual energy of UAV. Besides, under the location, arc, and direction constraints, the circular sector is modeled by properly choosing the central angle and the acceptable signal-to-noise ratio for UAV to optimize the candidate UAV selection. With this setup, we further propose a low-complexity iterative algorithm using the dynamic learning rate to update Q-values during the training process for achieving a fast convergence speed. Simulation results are provided to assess the potential of the Q-learning framework of intelligent routing as well as to verify our overall iterative algorithm via the dynamic learning rate for training procedure. Our findings reveal that the proposed algorithm converges in a few number of iterations. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm can increase the accumulated rewards, and achieve significant performance gains, as compared to the benchmark schemes. © 2022, CC BY.

Naproxen (Nap), a widely used nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), effectively reduces inflammation, pain, and fever by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (i.e., COX-1 and COX-2). However, its therapeutic use is often limited by significant adverse effects, including gastrointestinal hemorrhage, nephrotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, hematuria, and aphthous ulcers. In this study, we aimed to enhance both the efficacy and safety profile of Nap by making targeted structural modifications to the parent drug. Specifically, selected functional groups (i.e., CH_3, OCH₃, CF₃, OCF₃, NH₂, CH₂NH₂, NHCONH₂ and NHCOCH₃) were introduced into the naphthalene nucleus. The geometry of the modified compounds was optimized via DFT with the B3LYP functional and 6-31+G (d, p) basis set, facilitating physicochemical and spectral analysis. Molecular docking studies were conducted against the human Prostaglandin G/H synthase 2 (5F19) and Mus musculus Prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (3NT1), and these candidates were subjected to MD simulation. ADMET and PASS analyses were performed to evaluate the medicinal efficacy and toxicological profiles of the derivatives. Our findings identified several promising candidates with enhanced therapeutic benefits and reduced toxicity compared with the parent Nap. Docking analysis revealed that analogs exhibited stronger binding affinities compared to Nap and selectivity towards COX-2. These candidates demonstrated stability over a 100 ns MD simulation, exhibiting significant hydrogen bonding. Compared with the parent drug, most of these analogs displayed reduced hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, carcinogenicity, and gastrointestinal hemorrhage activity, as supported by pharmacokinetic calculations. This study demonstrated that improved chemical and medicinal properties lead to a reduction in side effects. © 2025 The Authors
