Currently, electric vehicle (EV) battery platforms typically vary in standard, commonly rated at either 800V or 400V. Conventional wireless charging system (WCS) are limited to single voltage level charging, necessitating wireless communication or additional complex circuits for achieving multi-voltage level charging, which can compromise operational stability and overall efficiency. This article proposes a WCS based on the concept of bipolar partial power conversion. By incorporating reversing series switches on the secondary of the DC/DC converter, regulation voltage control enables switching between positive and negative polarity to supply power to either 800V or 400V battery for EV. This approach ensures high power transmission efficiency, without relying on wireless communication, thereby ensuring stable charging process. Furthermore, this article also presents various combinations of bipolar topologies that can be selectively employed based on application requirements. Finally, simulation results validate the feasibility of the proposed 3.2KW WCS. © 2024 IEEE.

The visions of Industry 4.0 and 5.0 have reinforced the industrial *** have also made artificial intelligence incorporated as a major *** machine faults has become a solid foundation for automatically recognizing machine failure,and thus timely maintenance can ensure safe *** learning is a promising solution that can enhance the machine fault diagnosis model by borrowing pre-trained knowledge from the source model and applying it to the target model,which typically involves two *** response to the availability of multiple datasets,this paper proposes using selective and adaptive incremental transfer learning(SA-ITL),which fuses three algorithms,namely,the hybrid selective algorithm,the transferability enhancement algorithm,and the incremental transfer learning *** is a selective algorithm that enables selecting and ordering appropriate datasets for transfer learning and selecting useful knowledge to avoid negative *** algorithm also adaptively adjusts the portion of training data to balance the learning rate and training *** proposed algorithm is evaluated and analyzed using ten benchmark *** with other algorithms from existing works,SA-ITL improves the accuracy of all *** studies present the accuracy enhancements of the SA-ITL,including the hybrid selective algorithm(1.22%-3.82%),transferability enhancement algorithm(1.91%-4.15%),and incremental transfer learning algorithm(0.605%-2.68%).These also show the benefits of enhancing the target model with heterogeneous image datasets that widen the range of domain selection between source and target domains.

Sources of nonlinearity and mitigation of phase noise in MUTC photodetectors at comb-line frequencies

We calculate the phase noise for the first 100 comb line frequencies of two modified uni-traveling-carrier (MUTC) photodetectors. The frequency comb is generated by one-picosecond pulses with a 2-GHz repetition frequency. We observe a non-monotonic increase in the phase noise and investigate its origins. Our model identifies the interplay among the space charge effect, the heterostructure design, and the nonlinear relationship between the electric field and the electron drift current that leads to a complex variation of the phase noise as a function of the comb line frequency. Based on the findings, we present ways to reduce the phase noise of the photodetectors. While the optimal design depends on the desired frequency range of operation, we find a design that can reduce the phase noise over a wide range of comb-line frequencies.

In this study, we report the process variation effect (PVE) including the work function fluctuation (WKF) on the DC/AC characteristic fluctuation of stacked gate-all-around silicon complementary field-effect transistors (CFETs). The PVE affects characteristic fluctuation significantly;in particular, for the variability of off-state current. Owing to the bottom channel of a fin-type, the P-FET suffers from the worst off-state current fluctuation (more than 200% variation) compared to the N-FET. The device variability induced by the WKF is marginal because of amorphous-type metal grains. As input features to an artificial neural network (ANN) model, low and high work function values, as well as parameters of PVE that have prevalent effects on CEFT transfer characteristics are further considered and modeled. The estimated values of R2-score prove that the ANN model properly grasps information from the dataset successfully;thus, it can be used to model emerging CFETs for circuit simulation. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Policy optimization has gained renewed attention from the control community, serving as a pivotal link between control theory and reinforcement learning. In the past few years, the global convergence theory of direct policy search on state-feedback linear control benchmarks has been developed. However, it remains difficult to establish the global convergence of policy optimization on the linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) problem, marked by the presence of suboptimal stationary points and the lack of cost coerciveness. In this paper, we revisit the policy optimization intricacies of LQG via a case study on first-order single-input single-output (SISO) systems. For this case study, while the issue related to suboptimal stationary points can be easily fixed via parameterizing the policy class more carefully, the non-coerciveness of the LQG cost function still poses a substantial obstacle to a straightforward global convergence proof for the policy gradient method. Our contribution, within the scope of this case study, introduces an approach to construct a positive invariant set for the policy gradient flow, addressing the non-coerciveness issue in the global convergence proof. Based on our analysis, the policy gradient flow can be guaranteed to converge to the globally optimal full-order dynamic controller in this particular scenario. In summary, although centered on a specific case study, our work broadens the comprehension of how the absence of coerciveness impacts LQG policy optimization, highlighting inherent complexities.

This article supplies a proposed approach Neuro Fuzzy Controller (NFC)-Adaptive Backstepping Controller (ABC)-Space Vector Modulation (SVM) for a five-level NPC inverter-Double Stator Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (DSIPMSM). This paper's primary objective is to enhance DSIPMSM's performance by the use of strong control using the proposed approach. Given its benefits - including high torque density, high efficiency, high power density, and minimal maintenance - DSIPMSM, have recently been the focus of much research. Using the input-output linearization approach and Lyapunov stability theory, asymptotically stable trajectory-following dynamics are demonstrated using nonlinear adaptive backstepping control. The use of fuzzy logic and intelligence-based controllers are increasingly being used to enhance traditional control's performance and output. In addition, the fuzzy logic controller has a lot of flaws that are presently being fixed by the extremely effective NFC tool. The proposed method's worth was demonstrated by the simulation results in terms of durability, effective tracking dynamics, precision, and good disturbance rejection with little ripple. © 2024 IEEE.

Local-Global Temporal Difference Learning for Satellite Video Super-Resolution

Optical-flow-based and kernel-based approaches have been extensively explored for temporal compensation in satellite Video Super-Resolution (VSR). However, these techniques are less generalized in large-scale or complex scenarios, especially in satellite videos. In this paper, we propose to exploit the well-defined temporal difference for efficient and effective temporal compensation. To fully utilize the local and global temporal information within frames, we systematically modeled the short-term and long-term temporal discrepancies since we observe that these discrepancies offer distinct and mutually complementary properties. Specifically, we devise a Short-term Temporal Difference Module (S-TDM) to extract local motion representations from RGB difference maps between adjacent frames, which yields more clues for accurate texture representation. To explore the global dependency in the entire frame sequence, a Long-term Temporal Difference Module (L-TDM) is proposed, where the differences between forward and backward segments are incorporated and activated to guide the modulation of the temporal feature, leading to a holistic global compensation. Moreover, we further propose a Difference Compensation Unit (DCU) to enrich the interaction between the spatial distribution of the target frame and temporal compensated results, which helps maintain spatial consistency while refining the features to avoid misalignment. Rigorous objective and subjective evaluations conducted across five mainstream video satellites demonstrate that our method performs favorably against state-of-the-art approaches. The drive for sustainability has pushed forward various avenues in meeting the zero-carbon target. Electrification of vehicles has seen rapid growth, especially in replacing current internal combustion engine vehicles which relies on fossil fuel. The hybrid electrical vehicles (HEVs) that catalyze complete vehicle electrification provide a transition platform for vehicle users. The losses experienced by the HEVs which is contributed by the motor, generator, and battery have to be minimized to ensure efficient hybrid EV performance. The motor controller in the simulation model of the power-split hybrid transmission architecture is optimized using Jaya Optimization Algorithm (JOA). Two objective functions, which are speed regulation error and total electrical power loss are evaluated. Three different analyses for the Fractional order PID controller (FOPID) are carried out. The investigation comprises of comparative analysis with PID controller for first objective function, an analysis on FOPID controller based on second objective function, and an analysis of three different driving patterns. Overall improvement is observed in the integration of FOPID for HEV to enhance the performance of speed regulation and total electrical losses. © 2024 IEEE.
