Entropic and Operational Characterizations of Dynamic Quantum Resources

We offer new methods for characterizing general closed and convex quantum resource theories, including dynamic ones, based on entropic concepts and operational tasks. We propose a resource-theoretic generalization of the quantum conditional min-entropy, termed the free conditional min-entropy (FCME), in the sense that it quantifies an observer's "subjective"degree of uncertainty about a quantum system given that the observer's information processing is limited to free operations of the resource theory. Using this generalized concept, we provide a complete set of entropic conditions for free convertibility between quantum states or channels in any closed and convex quantum resource theory. We also derive an information-theoretic interpretation for the resource global robustness of a state or a channel in terms of a mutual-information-like quantity based on the FCME. Apart from this entropic approach, we characterize dynamic resources by also analyzing their performance in operational tasks. We construct operationally meaningful and complete sets of resource monotones with these tasks, which enable faithful tests of free convertibility between quantum channels. Finally, we show that every well-defined robustness-based measure of a channel can be interpreted as an operational advantage of the channel over free channels in a communication task. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Navigating cluttered indoor environments presents a significant challenge for aerial robots, requiring agility, speed, and a high level of reliability to avoid collisions. This project aims to address this challenge by developing advanced algorithms for lightweight drones, enabling them to reach target location and carrying out delivery efficiently and safely. Utilizing camera data to map and avoid obstacles, we create a system that not only maps and perceives the environment but also navigates its path to the destination. Included in the educational content, this project demonstrates the effectiveness of the technology through practical applications and real-world testing, helping the next generation of engineers accumulate technical experience and broaden their understanding of drone navigation algorithms and applications in system integration. It has a milestone impact on education and development of the drone field. © 2024 IEEE.

The substantive intent of this concert is to reinforce firefighter safety. Only experienced technicians and training professionals in fire guard are responsible for this part. To simulate the battery tightness position, an extra-critical condition has been considered. Owing to the position of the fire safety properties and battery reaction in buildings, the Firefly and Particle Swarm optimization algorithms have been exerted on the iterations with objective values used for analysis in the iterative process using Matlab 2021 software. Two well-known algorithms are compared to see which provides the best results. The ANN serves as a tool for analyzing and optimizing the pump's rendition in maintaining an adequate water supply for fire emergencies. © 2023 IEEE.

The event camera is a novel bio-inspired vision sensor. When the brightness change exceeds the preset threshold, the sensor generates events asynchronously. The number of valid events directly affects the performance of event-based tasks, such as reconstruction, detection, and recognition. However, when in low-brightness or slow-moving scenes, events are often sparse and accompanied by noise, which poses challenges for event-based tasks. To solve these challenges, we propose an event temporal up-sampling algorithm 11Code: https://***/XIJIE-XIANG/Event-Temporal-Up-sampling to generate more effective and reliable events. The main idea of our algorithm is to generate up-sampling events on the event motion trajectory. First, we estimate the event motion trajectory by contrast maximization algorithm and then up-sampling the events by temporal point processes. Experimental results show that up-sampling events can provide more effective information and improve the performance of downstream tasks, such as improving the quality of reconstructed images and increasing the accuracy of object detection. © 2022 IEEE.

Cloud-based energy management systems (EMS) in smart grids face privacy challenges, as existing methods based on traditional homomorphic encryption support limited operations and are vulnerable to quantum attacks. We propose a privacy preservation method for smart grid energy management system, leveraging edge-assisted computing and ring learning with errors (RLWE) homomorphic encryption. Our approach enables both addition and multiplication operations on encrypted smart grid data while defending against quantum threats. We demonstrate the methods security under the RLWE hardness assumption and validate its effectiveness through an experimental platform simulating smart grid environments. This work addresses computational limitations in current privacy-preserving techniques, enhancing data security for evolving smart grid technologies © 2010-2012 IEEE.

To leverage the synergy between cloud computing (CC) and edge computing (EC) to support various services while reducing the CC/EC switching overhead, the two-timescale utility maximization problem for an end-to-end network slicing-aided cloud-edge collaborative network (E2E-CECN) is formulated covering both the high throughput and low delay service requirements. To solve the utility maximization problem while dynamically adjusting the weights of the E2E-CECN utility to accommodate the variation of users' service requests, we proposed a reward comparison double deep Q network algorithm to optimize the large timescale joint virtual base station activation and CC-EC scheduling, and a reward comparison deep deterministic policy gradient algorithm to optimize the small timescale allocation of backhaul link capacity (BLC), CC/EC capability and transmission power. Numerical results show that both the high-throughput and low-delay service requirements can be satisfied simultaneously under the reasonable BLC usage and power consumption. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) have the ability to actively control wave propagation through space, enabling the creation of Programmable Wireless Environments (PWEs). This capability allows for the uti-lization and control of previously unexploited resources. However, there is a notable gap in allocating these resources to network users in a way that aligns with the pricing policies of telecommunications stakeholders. This paper considers RIS elements as network resources and describes a pricing policy that links the PWE efficiency of individual users to an optimal method for sharing RIS elements. A specialized policy tailored to this purpose, is designed with a focus on robustness, ensuring its applicability across various RIS functionalities and frequency bands. Its computational efficiency further underscores its viability for deployment in practical scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

There are many attempts to analyze the relationship between functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data and text stimuli representation in cognitive neuroscience research. Because programming codes are exemplary text stimuli, appropriate code representation for neuroscience research has been actively studied. In this paper, we focus on representing python code for fMRI research through natural language processing (NLP) techniques. We collect 7, 893 python codes of 23 question types from a code competition website and build three different models based on sequence-to-sequence, bag-of-words, and bigram representation. The model is evaluated to classify the types of questions. Finally, the model is applied to classify 108 python codes which were used for a cognitive neuroscience study of fMRI. We are looking forward to analyzing fMRI data with the proposed code representation for understanding how the human brain is active. © 2022 IEEE.
