Telescope coronagraph is an instrument designed to observe faint exoplanets located at very close proximities to their star by shielding the direct starlight and permitting planet light to pass through at an angle. In reality, however, aberrations and disturbances introduce phase variations and deteriorates the performance of the coronagraph. In this paper, an optimal telescope pupil apodization reconstruction scheme is introduced to restore the ideal pupil mode under such phase perturbations. Based on the eigenvalue problem solved by the method of moments, the proposed reconstruction scheme is applicable to telescope with an arbitrary pupil geometry. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the application of the proposed method. © 2023 ACES.

The advanced Encryption Standard cryptographic algorithm,named AES,is implemented in cryptographic circuits to ensure high security level to any system which required confidentiality and secure information *** of the most effective physical attacks against the hardware implementation of AES is fault attacks which can extract secret *** now,a several AES fault detection schemes against fault injection attacks have been *** this paper,so as to ensure a high level of security against fault injection attacks,a new efficient fault detection scheme based on the AES architecture modification has been *** this reason,the AES 32-bit round is divided into two half rounds and input and pipeline registers are implemented between *** proposed scheme is independent of the procedure the AES is ***,it can be implemented to secure the pipeline and iterative *** evaluate the robustness of the proposed fault detection scheme against fault injection attacks,we conduct a transient and permanent fault attacks and then we determine the fault detection capability;it is about 99.88585%and 99.9069%for transient and permanent faults *** have modeled the AES fault detection scheme using VHDL hardware language and through hardware FPGA *** FPGA results demonstrate that our scheme can efficiently protect the AES hardware implementation against fault *** can be simply implemented with low *** addition,the FPGA implementation performances prove the low area overhead and the high efficiency and working frequency for the proposed AES detection scheme.

Cloud data management has significant benefits for data storage and ***,it also brings some security concerns,such as the integrity of data and the reliability of online *** solve this problem,this paper proposes a blockchain and edge computing based public audit scheme,which is different from the traditional third-part auditor and the common blockchain-based two-party audit ***,this public audit scheme consists of data owners,edge computing servers,and cloud service *** to privacy data,a data owner generates lightweight verification labels and homomorphic hashes,and updates them on the blockchain.A completeness proof based on homomorphic hashes is computed by edge computing *** addition,the proposed scheme theoretically is capable of achieving 100% audit *** analysis shows that it can avoid the fraud of cloud server provider and data owner in the audit process,and has a strong ability to resist malicious *** results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing scheme in the computational cost of completeness verification.

Vehicular Edge Computing (VEC) is a feasible solution for autonomous driving as it can offload latency-sensitive and computation-intensive tasks from vehicle terminals to roadside units (RSUs) for real-time processing. Due to the high computational resource the workflow applications (i.e., autonomous driving) required, the small vehicle-to-RSUs communication range, and the scarce available resources for each vehicle, it might be difficult to accomplish complex workflow applications through the single-hop offloading paradigm in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). In this paper, we propose a reinforcement learning (RL) based multi-hop computation offloading scheme for workflow applications to reduce their execution latency in the VEC networks, which considers the data dependency in workflow applications as well as the trust relationship and communication interference among RSUs. Firstly, a preprocessing method is employed to merge the cut-edges in a workflow to reduce the offloading scale of tasks and compress the encoding dimension of offloading solutions. Then, a Deep Q-network algorithm using Phase-optimal State update (DQPS) is proposed to update the offloading policy distribution, in which the deviation of the phase-optimal state from the current state is estimated as the reward of RL to promote the algorithm's convergence to adapt the dynamic VEC networks. Simulation results show that DQPS has the best performance compared to other benchmark schemes. Moreover, the latency of the identical applications can be reduced by 2.5%-25.3% through our offloading scheme with a multi-hop model compared to that with the single-hop paradigm in IoV. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Numerous artificial intelligence (AI) approaches, such as generative AI (GAI), large language models (LLM) and text-To-image networks, necessitate spatial intelligence for effective operation. Yet, a prevailing ideology embedded in contemporary solutions is their inclination to strictly adhere to a data-driven approach when addressing spatial learning. This viewpoint leads to opaque solutions, aka "black boxes", and it presupposes that the intricacies of spatial reasoning will effortlessly surface as an inherent byproduct of extensive data exposure. This simplistic reliance on data overlooks the wealth of established psychology and mathematics governing spatial relations and their inherent uncertainties. In this article, we delve into neural networks and learning strategies for incorporating well-established spatial relations mathematics into an effective and explainable GAI. Specifically, we showcase how to translate abstract concepts, expressed as sets of spatial relations, into visual imagery. This resulting imagery can be immediately used or passed on as a spatial prior to a larger and more sophisticated GAI. We present two synthetic use cases wherein spatial concepts materialize as intricate arrangements of multi-part colored geometric primitives, undergoing a spectrum of diverse planar affine transformations. Our exploration is categorized into two dimensions: discerning spatial placements (aka the "where") and shape depiction (aka the "what"). Overall, we've noted a strength in our proposed neural networks in discerning spatial placements. However, while our nets also exhibit a competence in determining "what"to depict, we recognize the necessity for additional fine-Tuning to achieving visual imagery consistent with state-of-The-Art works like DALL-E and stable diffusion. © 2023 IEEE.

Averaging-Based Energy Management Strategy for Hybrid Battery-Ultracapacitor Energy Storage System

Considering a battery as the energy source for steady average current and an ultracapacitor as the dynamic energy buffer, this paper proposes a novel control strategy based on average current demand. The methodology averages the demand current over a time window to determine battery current, combined with rules to maintain the ultracapacitor's state of charge above 50%. However, the battery current is significantly affected by the averaging time window. A small window causes fluctuations, while a large one imposes unwanted currents to control the ultracapacitor's state of charge. As so, by optimizing the averaging window, this strategy minimizes battery current stress and power loss. Simulations under an urban driving cycle compare the proposed strategy with a sole-battery configuration, dynamic programming (benchmark), and rule-based approaches (original strategy). The simulation results indicate that the proposed strategy smooths battery currents, achieves over 75% of dynamic programming's effectiveness in extending battery life, and reduces computational burden and memory usage by over 85%. The strategy's low computational burden, and causal nature enable real-time control, which is demonstrated practically on an experimental setup. © 2025 IEEE.

Passengers being caught in the subway doors can result in unexpected waiting times of passengers and even fatal consequences. A safe and rapid closing of subway doors is imperative to increasing passenger safety and reducing dwell time in metropolitan railway systems. Identifying passengers at risk of being caught in subway doors can help prevent such accidents. In this paper, we develop a passenger trajectory model by analyzing the behavior of passengers descending the platform stairs and rushing to train doors. Combined with this analyzed passenger movement model, we propose a deep learning-based method for detecting the three types of movement activities, which is applied to determine a safe method of closing the door. Based on the experimental results of the images of the stairs collected using CCTV cameras installed in front of the stairs and their adjacent platforms, our method can detect passengers' movements on the stairs in real-time with an accuracy of 96.03%. As a result, the proposed model is expected to prevent relevant safety accidents/incidents and reduce subway unexpected waiting time on the platform. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

False data injection attacks based on synchrophasor measurement data pose a serious threat to the safe and stable operation of power systems. To mitigate this issue, a rapid monitoring and defense approach is proposed to defend against cyber attacks. First, the Time and Frequency based Convolutional neural Network (TFCN) is proposed to detect different types of attacks. In TFCN, the spectrum layer extracts the frequency information of the input data, and then the time-frequency block can be formed. Next, a comprehensive defense strategy is developed for multiple cyber attacks to ensure the stability and resilience of the power system. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach, the high-speed frequency measurements collected from the wide-area monitoring system are used. The results demonstrate that the cyber attack detection performance can reach 95.57 % compared with traditional neural networks. The defense strategy is conducted and verified in a modified IEEE 39 bus system as well, which shows better performance in faster stability restoration. © 2023 IEEE.
