A time-synchronized controller is proposed to solve the time-varying constrained reorientation problem. Time-Synchronized Stability (TSS) that considers the interrelationships among different state errors plays an important role in our method, enabling synchronized convergence of individual error components while ensuring compliance with state constraints. Compared to traditional sliding mode controllers, the efficiency of our safety-critical attitude controller is imporoved without adding computational burden, as evidenced by improved control energy consumption and reduced convergence time. A hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) experiment confirms its practical deployment capabilities. © 2024 IEEE.

Image co-segmentation and co-localization exploit inter-image information to identify and extract foreground objects with a batch mode. However, they remain challenging when confronted with large object variations or complex backgrounds. This paper proposes a multi-view graph embedding (MV-Gem) learning scheme which integrates diversity, robustness and discernibility of object features to alleviate this phenomenon. To encourage the diversity, the deep co-information containing both low-layer general representations and high-layer semantic information is generated to form a multi-view feature pool for comprehensive co-object description. To enhance the robustness, a multi-view adaptive weighted learning is formulated to fuse the deep co-information for feature complementation. To ensure the discernibility, the graph embedding and sparse constraint are embedded into the fusion formulation for feature selection. The former aims to inherit important structures from multiple views, and the latter further selects important features to restrain irrelevant backgrounds. With these techniques, MV-Gem gradually recovers all co-objects through optimization iterations. Extensive experimental results on real-world datasets demonstrate that MV-Gem is capable of locating and delineating co-objects in an image group. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

The growing popularity of the Android platform makes it a target of malware authors. The effective identification of such malware is an ongoing challenge. Several methods using machine learning have been proposed to prevent this threat. These methods are usually conventionally evaluated without considering the extent of performance over time. Given the evolving nature of both malware and benign apps, conventional evaluation may lack information. To imitate reality, this study compares the longitudinal performance of different machine learning models, using different strategies that combine permissions and API calls as features extracted through static analysis. Thus, to determine which strategy of features on which classifier are most effective to characterize malware for building a robust malware detector. To achieve this goal, on the one hand, we use a large real-world app set consisting of 100K (50k benign, 50k malware) apps date-labeled, collected across ten years, first seen between 2013 and 2022. On the other hand, each feature's strategy is fed into five classifiers (i.e., SVM, RF, LR, DT, and ANN), using old apps for the training and new apps for the evaluation. Among the assessed machine learning models, the SVM achieves the most promising results over time by employing the combination strategy of the high difference usage of API calls and permissions. © 2023 IEEE.

Image segmentation of sea-land remote sensing images is of great importance for downstream applications including shoreline extraction,the monitoring of near-shore marine environment,and near-shore target *** mitigate large number of parameters and improve the segmentation accuracy,we propose a new Squeeze-Depth-Wise UNet(SDW-UNet)deep learning model for sea-land remote sensing image *** proposed SDW-UNet model leverages the squeeze-excitation and depth-wise separable convolution to construct new convolution modules,which enhance the model capacity in combining multiple channels and reduces the model *** further explore the effect of position-encoded information in NLP(Natural Language Processing)domain on sea-land segmentation *** have conducted extensive experiments to compare the proposed network with the mainstream segmentation network in terms of accuracy,the number of parameters and the time cost for *** test results on remote sensing data sets of Guam,Okinawa,Taiwan China,San Diego,and Diego Garcia demonstrate the effectiveness of SDW-UNet in recognizing different types of sea-land areas with a smaller number of parameters,reduces prediction time cost and improves performance over other mainstream segmentation *** also show that the position encoding can further improve the accuracy of model segmentation.

Patients' data is stored in Electronic Health Records (EHRs) for confidentiality purposes. However, the insecure networks of hospitals and clinics puts patient information at risk. To address this ethical issue, secure communication is crucial. The Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard governs the transmission of EHRs to maintain data integrity and confidentiality. This paper combines cryptography and steganography techniques to transmit medical information and images across hospital networks, securely. The introduced framework comprises encryption of patients' data using DNA-based advanced Encryption Standard (AES), hiding the information within images using Least Significant Bit (LSB) embedding, compressing the stego images using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), and reversal of the process at the receiver end. Simulation experiments demonstrate that this framework comprising both encryption and steganography outperforms existing methods in securing the medical data. © 2023 IEEE.

Single-shot quantitative phase gradient microscopy (ss-QPGM) enables quantitative phase imaging (QPI) based on differential interference contrast (DIC) microscopy. In ss-QPGM, the analyzer is replaced by a quarter-wave plate and a polarization camera, allowing for phase gradient extraction from a single intensity measurement. The quantitative phase image is reconstructed via numerical integration, but direct integration along a single axis introduces artifacts and phase errors due to missing frequency response along the axis of orthogonal to the shear axis and noise-induced streak lines. In this work, we propose a phase retrieval method for ss-QPGM using an untrained neural network (UNN), which integrates physical priors without requiring paired ground truth and input datasets, overcoming the limitations of traditional regularization methods such as Tikhonov regularization and the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) with total variation (TV) regularization. We demonstrate that the UNN approach not only offers superior phase reconstruction but also alleviates artifacts induced by missing frequency response along the axis and noise-induced streak lines, as shown by phase images of a calibrated target and biological samples. © 2025 SPIE.

Structural color printings have broad applications due to their advantages of long-term sustainability,eco-friendly manufacturing,and ultra-high ***,most of them require costly and time-consuming fabrication processes from nanolithography to vacuum deposition and ***,we demonstrate a new color printing technology based on polymer-assisted photochemical metal deposition(PPD),a room temperature,ambient,and additive manufacturing process without requiring heating,vacuum deposition or *** PPD-printed silver films comprise densely aggregated silver nanoparticles filled with a small amount(estimated<20%volume)of polymers,producing a smooth surface(roughness 2.5 nm)even better than vacuum-deposited silver films(roughness 2.8 nm)at~4 nm ***,the printed composite films have a much larger effective refractive index n(~1.90)and a smaller extinction coefficient k(~0.92)than PVD ones in the visible wavelength range(400 to 800 nm),therefore modulating the surface reflection and the phase *** capability of PPD in printing both ultra-thin(~5 nm)composite films and highly reflective thicker film greatly benefit the design and construction of multilayered Fabry–Perot(FP)cavity structures to exhibit vivid and saturated *** demonstrated programmed printing of complex pictures of different color schemes at a high spatial resolution of~6.5μm by three-dimensionally modulating the top composite film geometries and dielectric spacer thicknesses(75 to 200 nm).Finally,PPD-based color picture printing is demonstrated on a wide range of substrates,including glass,PDMS,and plastic,proving its broad potential in future applications from security labeling to color displays.

This paper provides methods and implementations to increase the speed of image generation with less sacrifice of image generation quality. This study reviews the development of image generation techniques, including early convolutional neural networks, variational autoencoders (VAEs), and generative models such as generative adversarial networks (GANs). In recent years, denoising diffusion probabilistic models (DDPM) have become a new trend in image generation. This trend is mainly attributed to the superior performance of DDPMs in generating high-quality images, as well as their demonstration of higher stability and consistency when dealing with complex data distributions. The ability of DDPMs to provide more granular control and predict the quality of generation through a process of gradual noise reduction compared to traditional GANs has led to their widespread interest and use in academic and industrial applications. However, in order to reduce the time and computational cost required for DDPM to generate images, an improved version of DDPM, the Denoising Diffusion Implicit Model (DDIM), is used in this study. This model effectively speeds up the image generation by optimising the diffusion process while maintaining less loss in the quality of the generated images. Firstly, The DDIM model was experimented on four different datasets, including Swiss Volume dataset, MNIST dataset, CIFAR10 dataset, and Celeba dataset, in order to comprehensively evaluate the performance and applicability of the model. In addition, in order to compare the difference in the quality of generated images between DDIM and DDPM, the experiments provide an objective measure of the quality of the generated images of the two by using the Frechette Initiation Distance (FID) as an evaluation metric. The final experimental results show that the DDIM model obtained a FID score of 21.67 on the unconditional CIFAR10 dataset and a FID score of 18.87 on the unconditional Celeba dataset. In compariso
