Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) of civil infrastructure has been an active area of research for the past few decades. Traditional inspection of civil infrastructure, mostly relying on visual inspection is time-consuming, labor-intensive and often provides subjective and erroneous results. To facilitate this process, different sensors for data collection and techniques for data analyses have been used to effectively carry out this task in an automated manner. The purpose of this research is to provide a novel Deep Learning-based method for detection of steel rebars in reinforced concrete bridge elements using data from Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). At the same time, a novel technique is proposed for the localization of rebar in B-scan images. In order to examine the performance of the rebar detection and localization system, results are outlined to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed system within relevant practical applications. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Selection is a fundamental user operation in 3D environments. These environments often simulate or augment the real world, and a part of that simulation is the ability to select objects for observation and manipulation. Many user interfaces for these applications depend on six-degree-of-freedom tracking devices. Such devices have limited accuracy and are susceptible to noise, giving an imprecision that makes object selections difficult and hard to repeat. This difficulty is amplified when the user's viewpoint is also tracked, meaning the user must compensate for noise from both the head tracker and the pointing device when performing object selection. Also, users may experience fatigue when using handheld pointing devices for extended periods, creating error even if the tracking technology were perfect. This paper presents a pointing-based probabilistic selection algorithm that addresses some of the ambiguities associated with tracking and user imprecision. It performs multiple selections by considering a frustum along the user's pointing direction and the hierarchical structure of the database. It assigns probabilities that the user has selected particular objects using a set of low-level 3D intersection-based selection techniques and the relationship of the objects in a hierarchical database, and makes the final selection using one of several weighting schemes. We performed several experiments to evaluate the low-level selection techniques, tested several weighting schemes for the integration algorithm, and we show that the algorithm is effective at disambiguating multiple selections. © 2006 IEEE.

Image denoising is a technology to restore the image by changing the information before and after the image sequence. The restored image will become very clear, and it is used a lot now. Due to the imperfect equipment, when the image is transmitted, it will be affected by noise, thus losing the original details. In order to solve this problem and make the noise image clear and obvious, this paper proposes an image denoising method based on deep learning, and constructs the image denoising network structure based on convolutional neural network. At the same time, the directional propagation algorithm is optimized to speed up the training speed of the model and effectively improve the denoising effect. By comparing the experimental data of the classical algorithm experiment, it is concluded that this study has achieved a better denoising effect. Finally, the key issues of image denoising research are summarized, and the development trend of future research in this field is discussed. © 2023 IEEE.

Most software CQAs (e.g. Stack Overflow) mainly rely on users to assign tags for posted questions. This leads to many redundant, inconsistent and inaccurate tags that are detrimental to the communities. Therefore tag quality becomes a critical challenge to deal with. In this work, we propose STR, a deep learning based approach that automatically recommends tags through learning the semantics of both tags and questions in such software CQAs. First, word embedding is employed to convert text information to high-dimension vectors for better representing questions and tags. Second, a Multi-Tasking-like Convolutional Neural Network, the core modules of STR, is designed to capture short and long semantics. Third, the learned semantic vectors are fed into a gradient descent based algorithm for classification. Finally, we evaluate STR on three datasets collected from popular software CQAs, and experimental results show that STR outperforms state-of-The-Art approaches in terms of Precision@k, Recall@k and F1-Measure@k. © 2018 Authors.

IETF Mobile IPv6 allows nodes to perform an IP handover without breaking their active sessions. In Mobile IPv6, after re-associating a new attachment of point, it is generally the responsibility of a mobile node to detect that it has moved to a new IP subnet. Determining whether or not a node has moved to a new IP subnet is not always a simple issue. In this paper, we analyze the movement detection process of IPv6 mobile nodes based on standards, i.e. IETF RFC documents and IETF Working Group Internet-drafts. We model the movement detection process and provide our results of performance analysis for the model in terms of latency caused by the process. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.

In this work, an algorithm for full-coverage voltage-conversion-ratio (VCR) Fibonacci-like charge pump is proposed. By shifting the connect node of each flying capacitor's bottom plate, a charge pump topology can achieve arbitrary integer voltage conversion ratios. By the algorithm, we can find the best Fibonacci-like charge pump topology with the least number of capacitors and transistors, for a given VCR. © 2018 IEEE.

In this paper, a high-efficiency solution to multi-phase stepup charge pump is proposed. Aiming at traditional multi-phase charge pump with full-coverage integer voltage conversion ratios (VCRs) for good efficiency, we further improve its efficiency at some particular VCRs. By automatically bypassing some unnecessary converter stages, dynamic power loss is reduced. Based on a 0.25 μm process, an example of three-stage charge pump with VCRs of 1∼8 is conducted. It shows that converter with proposed control strategy has improved perofrmance at VCR © 2018 IEEE.

With the advent of the Industry 4.0, intelligent manufacturing has become a technological highland to conquer in the process of enterprise digitalization. As the core competitiveness of intelligent manufacturing, industrial apps, with new features such as customization and lightweight, has emerged as a new type of industrial software. Traditional development methods and tools can hardly meet the large demand of industrial software on account of its long development cycles while low-code development can greatly improve the productivity of industrial software, lower the barriers and reduce costs for development. Therefore, the research and application of low-code development for industrial apps has received much attention. Industrial Internet platforms such as Siemens, OutSystems have successively launched low-code tools. However, there is still a lack of an open, unified low-code development framework in industry. In response to the above problems, we propose a low-code framework to develop industrial apps quickly and easily, which paves the way for leveraging the crowd intelligence of worldwide developers to improve the productivity of developing industrial apps. Based on BPMN2.0 and Apache Activiti engine, this framework provides drag-and-drop process design, one-click process deployment and operation, data monitoring and other functions. In this paper, we present a prototype system of a low-code development framework and demonstrate its functions through a use case of developing a predictive maintenance application. Finally, the aircraft turbine life data is used to verify the effectiveness of the system. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This work presents an on-chip oscillator with offset cancellation in 0.25 μ m process. By automatically choosing the reference voltage in a single comparator, the proposed oscillator can perfectly achieve offset cancellation. In addition, it reduces the comparator count from two to one for area-saving and power-saving. The simulation results exhiUit a Temperature Coefficient of 2.3 ppm/oC from-40 to 90° c while consuming 6.5 μ W at 30 kHz. © 2018 IEEE.

Optical interferometry techniques can be use for the first time to measure the surface resistivity/conductivity of silicon wavers without any physical contact. This can be achieved by applying an electrical potential across the waver and measuring the electronic current flow across the waver as a result of the electrical potential. In the mean time, optical iterferometry techniques such as holographic interferometry can be used in situ to measure the orthogonal surface displacement of the waver, as a result of the applied electrical potential. In addition, a mathematical model can be derived in order to correlate the ratio of the electrical potential to the electronic current flow (electrical potential/electronic Current flow=resistance) and to the surface (orthogonal) displacement of the waver. In other words, a proportionality constant (surface resistivity or conductivity=1/ surface resistivity) between the measured electrical resistance and the surface displacement (by the optical interferometry techniques) can be obtained. Consequently the surface resistivity/ and conductivity of the waver can be determined, without any physical contact. © 2009 SPIE.
