Personalization is crucial for the widespread adoption of advanced driver assistance system. To match up with each user's preference, the online evolution capability is a must. However, conventional evolution methods learn from naturalistic driving data, which requires a lot computing power and cannot be applied online. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a lesson learning approach: learning from driver's takeover interventions. By leveraging online takeover data, the driving zone is generated to ensure perceived safety using Gaussian discriminant analysis. Real-time corrections to trajectory planning rewards are enacted through apprenticeship learning. Guided by the objective of optimizing rewards within the constraints of the driving zone, this approach employs model predictive control for trajectory planning. This lesson learning framework is highlighted for its faster evolution capability, adeptness at experience accumulating, assurance of perceived safety, and computational efficiency. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system consistently achieves a successful customization without further takeover interventions. Accumulated experience yields a 24% enhancement in evolution efficiency. The average number of learning iterations is only 13.8. The average computation time is 0.08 seconds. © 2024, The Authors. Embedding (K9 – C9) n into 2-CAT and triangular snake graph

Caterpillar and Snake graphs have long been relied upon in the construction of computer and communications networks, prized for their outstanding fault-tolerance and efficient routing capabilities, making them enduring choices in network infrastruc-ture design. Simulation of various connectivity networks or the design of parallel algorithms have both been found to benefit greatly from graph embedding. A vertices based bijection that maps each edge of a patron graph (ϒ) along a pathway within a proprietor graph (Ξ) is known for an embedding (ϑ). The total wirelength in this embedding is calculated by combining the lengths of routes that correspond to the edges of ϒ. In this study, we determine the shortest wirelength for 2 – CAT and triangular snake graph embedding into ( K9 – C9) n. Embedding ( K9 – C9) n into 2-CAT and Triangular Snake graph helps in solving many parallel computing architecture.

The development of multimedia and deep learning technology bring new challenges to steganography and steganalysis techniques. Meanwhile, robust steganography, as a class of new techniques aiming to solve the problem of covert communication under lossy channels, has become a new research hotspot in the field of information hiding. To improve the communication reliability and efficiency for current real-time robust steganography methods, a concatenated code, composed of Syndrome–Trellis codes (STC) and cyclic redundancy check (CRC) codes, is proposed in this paper. The enhanced robust adaptive steganography framework proposed is this paper is characterized by a strong error detection capability, high coding efficiency, and low embedding costs. On this basis, three adaptive steganographic methods resisting JPEG compression and detection are proposed. Then, the fault tolerance of the proposed steganography methods is analyzed using the residual model of JPEG compression, thus obtaining the appropriate coding parameters. Experimental results show that the proposed methods have a significantly stronger robustness against compression, and are more difficult to be detected by statistical based steganalytic methods. © 2019, Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

The commercial applications of Li-S batteries are limited by decreased cycling performance caused by the shuttle effect of polysulfides, slower kinetic reaction rates, and lithium anode dendrites. This study demonstrates the important role of diatomite (DT) in regulating cycle performance of modified separator for Li-S batteries. A multifunctional separator (Co/NC/DT) with DT as a carrier assembled high loading Co nanocluster (size 2-4 nm) is prepared. The N-doped carbon is immobilized via Si-N bond between DT and N-doped carbon. The depth profiles of XPS indicates that the ratio of pyrrolic N to pyridinic N of Co/NC/DT reaches 5.31 at the etching of 100 nm vs 0.83 for Co/NC at surface, which suggesting that mainly N species is pyrrolic N after the addition of DT. Theoretical calculations confirm that cobalt nanoclusters grown on pyrrolic N-doped carbon have a lower adsorption energy for a series of polysulfides species compared to that on pyridinic N-doped carbon and can reduce the energy barrier, especially only 0.09 eV for reduction from Li2S6 to Li2S4. In-situ X-ray diffraction analysis confirms Co/NC/DT can effectively promote formation of Li2S. Lithium anode in-situ optical microscopy observation shows the modified separator could reduce lithium dendrites effectively. Li-S battery assembled with the modified separator can reach an initial capacity of 1331.3 mAh g-1 at 0.2 C and cycle 1500 cycles at 1.0 C with a decay of only 0.039% per cycle. Through regulation of DT, Co/NC/DT accelerates the conversion from long-chain sulfur to short-chain sulfur and Li+ transfer rate, resulting in improving cycling performance. © 2024, The Authors. The Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized the way people interact, communicate, and perform daily activities in various domains ranging from households to industries and cities. MQTT is one of the commonly adopted protocols for implementing IoT. However, IoT systems that are connected through MQTT are susceptible to security breaches as MQTT was not originally designed with security as a priority. The credentials and messages transmitted in plaintext by default, thereby compromising data confidentiality and integrity. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the MQTT protocol, including experimentation on an MQTT system using various cryptographic implementations, such as AES-CBC, RSA, and ECC AES Hybrid Scheme, to assess the processing time and message size. The findings indicate that payload encryption increases processing time and message bytes. Among the cryptographic implementations, RSA incurs the highest processing time, followed by ECC AES Hybrid Scheme and AES- CBC. Furthermore, the study demonstrates the effectiveness of attack prevention between standard MQTT and secured MQTT implementations by simulating various IoT attacks, such as black-box penetration attack, identity spoofing, DoS attack, and MITM attack. The results and subsequent discussion provide insights that answer the research question, revealing the cryptographic algorithms that result in the most overhead on the standard MQTT implementation and their capacity to resist common attacks.

Numerous finite-element simulations are required to evaluate the performance of an electric machine at different operating points, posing a great challenge to the design optimization of such electric machines. Surrogate modeling approaches have been investigated in recent years to speed up the analysis and optimization process, including machine learning and deep learning models. In particular, various convolutional neural network based deep learning models have been proposed and trained to predict motor performances for a given motor design. However, larger dataset and relatively long training time are required for such deep models. In this paper, we present a method for the rapid prediction of 2d flux maps using ensemble learning technique, with multiple relatively simple regression models. We show that the technique is much faster to train compared with deep convolutional networks, while achieving improved accuracy.

Fluctuations of the qubit frequencies are one of the major problems to overcome on the way to scalable quantum computers. Of particular importance are fluctuations with a correlation time that exceeds the decoherence time due to decay and dephasing by fast processes. The statistics of the fluctuations can be characterized by measuring the correlators of the outcomes of periodically repeated Ramsey measurements. We describe qubit dynamics during repeated measurements and evaluate the two-time correlator for noise from two-level systems and two- and three-time correlators for Gaussian noise. The explicit expressions for the correlators are compared with simulations. We find that, even though the three-time correlators for noise from two-level systems and for Gaussian noise are generally significantly different, already ten two-level systems can mimic Gaussian noise provided they are symmetric. This is not the case for asymmetric systems.

Restricted Black-box Adversarial Attack Against DeepFake Face Swapping

DeepFake face swapping presents a significant threat to online security and social media, which can replace the source face in an arbitrary photo/video with the target face of an entirely different person. In order to prevent this fraud, some researchers have begun to study the adversarial methods against DeepFake or face manipulation. However, existing works focus on the white-box setting or the black-box setting driven by abundant queries, which severely limits the practical application of these methods. To tackle this problem, we introduce a practical adversarial attack that does not require any queries to the facial image forgery model. Our method is built on a substitute model persuing for face reconstruction and then transfers adversarial examples from the substitute model directly to inaccessible black-box DeepFake models. Specially, we propose the Transferable Cycle Adversary Generative Adversarial Network (TCA-GAN) to construct the adversarial perturbation for disrupting unknown DeepFake systems. We also present a novel post-regularization module for enhancing the transferability of generated adversarial examples. To comprehensively measure the effectiveness of our approaches, we construct a challenging benchmark of DeepFake adversarial attacks for future development. Extensive experiments impressively show that the proposed adversarial attack method makes the visual quality of DeepFake face images plummet so that they are easier to be detected by humans and algorithms. Moreover, we demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can be generalized to offer face image protection against various face translation methods. © 2022, CC BY.

We report the growth of high-quality GaN epitaxial thin films on graphene-coated c-sapphire substrates using pulsed-mode metalorganic vapor-phase epitaxy, together with the fabrication of freestanding GaN films by simple mechanical exfoliation for transferable light-emitting diodes (LEDs). High-quality GaN films grown on the graphene-coated sapphire substrates were easily lifted off using thermal release tape and transferred onto foreign substrates. Furthermore, we revealed that the pulsed operation of ammonia flow during GaN growth was a critical factor for the fabrication of high-quality freestanding GaN films. These films, exhibiting excellent single crystallinity, were utilized to fabricate transferable GaN LEDs by heteroepitaxially growing InxGa1-xN/GaN multiple quantum wells and a p-GaN layer on the GaN films, showing their potential application in advanced optoelectronic devices. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

Zodiacal light (ZL) is sunlight scattered by interplanetary dust particles (IDPs) at optical wavelengths. The spatial distribution of IDPs in the Solar System may hold an important key to understanding the evolution of the Solar System and material transportation within it. The number density of IDPs can be expressed as n(r) ∼ r−α, and the exponent α ∼ 1.3 was obtained by previous observations from interplanetary space by Helios 1/2 and Pioneer 10/11 in the 1970s and 1980s. However, no direct measurements of α based on ZL observations from interplanetary space outside Earth’s orbit have been performed since then. Here, we introduce initial results for the radial profile of the ZL at optical wavelengths observed over the range 0.76-1.06 au by ONC-T aboard the Hayabusa2# mission in 2021-2022. The ZL brightness we obtained is well reproduced by a model brightness, although there is a small excess of the observed ZL brightness over the model brightness at around 0.9 au. The radial power-law index we obtained is α = 1.30 ± 0.08, which is consistent with previous results based on ZL observations. The dominant source of uncertainty arises from the uncertainty in estimating the diffuse Galactic light (DGL). © 2023, CC BY.
