HRPDF: A Software-Based Heterogeneous Redundant Proactive Defense Framework for Programmable Logic Controller

Programmable logic controllers(PLCs)play a critical role in many industrial control systems,yet face increasingly serious cyber *** this paper,we propose a novel PLC-compatible software-based defense mechanism,called Heterogeneous Redundant Proactive Defense Framework(HRPDF).We propose a heterogeneous PLC architecture in HRPDF,including multiple heterogeneous,equivalent,and synchronous runtimes,which can thwart multiple types of attacks against PLC without the need of external *** ensure the availability of PLC,we also design an inter-process communication algorithm that minimizes the overhead of *** implement a prototype system of HRPDF and test it in a real-world PLC and an OpenPLC-based device,*** results show that HRPDF can defend against multiple types of attacks with 10.22%additional CPU and 5.56%additional memory overhead,and about 0.6 ms additional time overhead.

Ambient displays are considered to be effective for behavior change;however, with long-term use, users may lose interest in the contents and fail in changing to desirable behavior. We investigate a method to detect familiarity and distrust as a sign of loss of interest, and two types of information presentation are proposed to cope with the loss of interest. These methods are integrated into a prototype system that aims at avoiding sedentary lifestyle at home. The result of a preliminary user study shows that adapting to the user's preference might be effective. © 2021 IEEE.

Pandemic COVID-19 has been giving the impact that large to the entire community in Indonesia because the pandemic of this, many activities are obstructed, and regulations protocol Health implemented by the government make its people must adjust themselves to abide by the rules that exist. Likewise, in the education sector, this pandemic make learning should be done in online. Learning process would be not as same when face-to-face and each university also has a method of learning that is different to improve the quality of learning that is given to the students. Higher education as learning environment also wanted to know the level of effectiveness of learning online are given and the attitude/behavior of students during follow online learning procedure. This study aims to determine the effect that significant to the effectiveness of the learning of students who do study via online (E-Learning). The sample was determined using the questionnaire collection method and the results of the questionnaire were collected as research data. Then the data is processed and tested (by testing the validity, reliability, etc.). The results show that internal factors have significant correlation to the effectiveness of e-learning. © 2021 IEEE.

The management of a daily diet is a significant concern among individuals in modern culture. The utilization of dietary assessment systems has significantly contributed to the efficient management of malnutrition and dietary habits over a period of time. In order to determine the nutritional value of the food that individuals consume, this study introduces a novel food monitoring system and its architecture. By creating a dataset of food images in a tray and using image processing, machine learning, and computer vision techniques, the nutrients and calories consumed by a patient are calculated. The proposed system achieves a 95.6% Intersection over Union score in the segmentation task, 92.3% top-1 accuracy in the classification task, and 4.6 g mean weight absolute error in the weight estimation *** Relevance: The proposed system has the ability to calculate the nutritional composition, encompassing calories, proteins, fats, and carbs, of food consumed by a patient, making it suitable for nutritional monitoring applications and healthcare systems that aim to monitor malnutrition in hospital patients. © 2023 IEEE.

Liver cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death *** tumor detection may help identify suitable treatment and increase the survival *** imaging is a non-invasive tool that can help uncover abnormalities in human *** Resonance Imaging(MRI),in particular,uses magnetic fields and radio waves to differentiate internal human organs ***,the interpretation of medical images requires the subjective expertise of a radiologist and ***,building an automated diagnosis computer-based system can help specialists reduce incorrect *** paper proposes a hybrid automated system to compare the performance of 3D features and 2D features in classifying magnetic resonance liver tumor *** paper proposed two models;the first one employed the 3D features while the second exploited the 2D *** first system uses 3D texture attributes,3D shape features,and 3D graphical deep descriptors beside an ensemble classifier to differentiate between four 3D tumor *** top of that,the proposed method is applied to 2D slices for comparison *** proposed approach attained 100%accuracy in discriminating between all types of tumors,100%Area Under the Curve(AUC),100%sensitivity,and 100%specificity and precision as well in 3D liver *** the other hand,the performance is lower in 2D *** maximum accuracy reached 96.4%for two classes and 92.1%for four *** top-class performance of the proposed system can be attributed to the exploitation of various types of feature selection methods besides utilizing the ReliefF features selection technique to choose the most relevant features associated with different *** novelty of this work appeared in building a highly accurate system under specific circumstances without any processing for the images and human input,besides comparing the performance between 2D and 3D *** the future,the presented work can be extended to be

Healthcare systems generally constitute a combination of healthcare facilities and providers that collaborate in order to offer a complete range of healthcare services. As the primary providers of healthcare, hospitals hold an essential place in the healthcare system. This study introduces three novel automated Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems by using the robotic platform of the TIAGo robot: (i) an image-based system that monitors the food consumption of the patients and provides information regarding their energy intake to prevent malnutrition;(ii) a rehabilitation system that monitors patients as they perform prescribed exercises to prevent loss of mobility, and (iii) a monitoring system for the correctness of the oxygen therapy in terms of the proper positioning of the oxygen mask to prevent hypoxia complications. A well-designed observational clinical study is planned to evaluate and validate the utility and effectiveness of the proposed AI systems in improving patient stay in the hospital. The management of wastewater is a significant global concern that calls for innovative solutions to lessen its negative effects on the environment. Conventional techniques of treating wastewater need improvement in order to deal with newly discovered contaminants, which highlights the importance of providing precise estimates of process performance and resource requirements. The worsening water shortage situation requires a paradigm shift in which wastewater is viewed as a useful resource. It is possible to create an economy that is both sustainable and circular by treating and recycling wastewater, putting less pressure on freshwater supplies, and leaving as little of an environmental footprint as possible. This study investigates the use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) as software estimators in the treatment of wastewater, with a particular emphasis on predicting ammonium concentrations in effluent. In order to deal with imbalanced time-series data, the research introduces innovative data pretreatment strategies. These techniques include a Sliding Window protocol, Data Normalization, and a K-Fold training scheme. This illustrates the potential of ANNs to revolutionize wastewater treatment procedures and drive developments in this field. The suggested method demonstrates higher performance when estimating pollutant concentrations, showing the ability of ANNs to do so. © 2023 IEEE.
