This paper presents a novel approach for solving unrelated parallel machine scheduling problems through reinforcement learning. Notably, we consider three main constraints: release date, machine eligibility, and sequence- and machine-dependent setup time to minimize total weighted tardiness. Our work presents a new graph representation for solving the problem and utilizes graph neural networks combined with reinforcement learning. Experimental results show that our proposed method outperforms traditional dispatching rules and an apparent tardiness cost-based algorithm. Furthermore, since we represent and solve the problem using graphs, our method can be used regardless of the number of jobs or machines once trained. © 2024 IEEE.

Indonesia has the largest number of people that are active in social media and Indonesia is a country with the most social media users in the world. Social media in general is used to socialize (relate, both, personally, in groups and so on) between users. The users of social media in Indonesia already has reached 160 million in January 2020. and this number of social media users in Indonesia increased up to 12 million (8.1%) from April 2019 to January 2020. Firstly, social media was used by users to connect with each other through community. However, now social media is not only used as a means of virtual community for interaction but is also used as a channel for doing business. There are still many people who do not realize that social media has the advantage of being a very efficient and effective business, and many company that still confused about to choose which social media platform that suitable with their business promotion. Therefore, we want to show and tell them one of the advantages of social media in the field of promotion. Based on the surveys, there are four most popular social media in Indonesia such as YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. However, there still very few studies can be found to understand that social media is effective or not for business promotion. For this reason, this article will examine the advantages that social media have that can support business promotion. This article will utilize the questioners method to assess the important factors of social media users such as user satisfaction factors in using social media and what social media are often used by user to promote their business. GPT is a large language model (LLM) derived from natural language processing that can generate a human-like text using machine learning. However, these models raise questions about authenticity and reliability of material, particularly in fields such as journalism, social media, and academia, despite their usefulness for automating text-based tasks. Detecting machine-generated text is thus an important difficulty in ensuring content integrity. This study investigates the use of huge language models as a technique for recognizing machine-generated material. The author proposes a comprehensive detection model by evaluating the language patterns, syntactic structures, and stylistic traits that separate AI-generated literature from human writing. In addition, this research investigate the possibilities of fine-tuning models designed expressly for text identification tasks and evaluate their performance using LLM - Detect AI Generated Text datasets. In digital ecosystems, LLMs are effective at detecting AI-generated text, providing a novel approach for content moderation, academic integrity checks, and synthetic media detection. An increasingly AI-powered future will require a model that can discriminate between human and machine-generated writing in real-time. According to experimental findings, the CNN architecture's design combined with the use of DistilBERT embeddings allows for the effective and efficient classification of AI generated text data, achieving an exceptional 98% accuracy rate. © 2024 IEEE.

At present, there exist some problems in granular clustering methods, such as lack of nonlinear membership description and global optimization of granular data boundaries. To address these issues, in this study, revolving around the parabolic granular data, we propose an overall architecture for parabolic granular modeling and clustering. To begin with, novel coverage and specificity functions are established, and then a parabolic granular data structure is proposed. The fuzzy c-means (FCM) algorithm is used to obtain the numeric prototypes, and then particle swarm optimization (PSO) is introduced to construct the parabolic granular data from the global perspective under the guidance of principle of justifiable granularity (PJG). Combining the advantages of FCM and PSO, we propose the parabolic granular modeling and optimization (PGMO) method. Moreover, we put forward attribute weights and sample weights as well as a distance measure induced by the Gaussian kernel similarity, and then come up with the algorithm of weighted kernel fuzzy clustering for parabolic granularity (WKFC-PG). In addition, the assessment mechanism of parabolic granular clustering is discussed. In summary, we set up an overall architecture including parabolic granular modeling, clustering, and assessment. Finally, comparative experiments on artificial, UCI, and high-dimensional datasets validate that our overall architecture delivers a good improvement over previous strategies. The parameter analysis and time complexity are also given for WKFC-PG. In contrast with related granular clustering algorithms, it is observed that WKFC-PG performs better than other granular clustering algorithms and has superior stability in handling outliers, especially on high-dimensional datasets. © 2020 IEEE.

Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) impose significant computational demands, necessitating optimizations for computational and energy efficiencies. Per-vector scaling, which applies a scaling factor to blocks of elements using narrow integer types, effectively reduces storage and computational overhead. However, the frequent occurrence of floating-point accumulations between vectors limits further improvements in energy efficiency. State-of-the-art accelerators address this challenge by grouping and summing vector products based on their exponent differences, thereby reducing the overhead associated with intra-group shifting and accumulation. Nevertheless, this approach increases the complexity of register usage and grouping logic, leading to limited energy benefits and hardware efficiency. In this context, we introduce WinAcc, a novel algorithm and architecture co-designed solution that utilizes a low-cost accumu-lator to handle the majority of data in DNNs, offering low area overhead and high energy efficiency gains. Our key insight is that the data of DNNs follows a Laplace-like distribution, which enables the use of a customized data format with a narrow dynamic range to encode most of the data. This allows for the design of a low-cost accumulator with narrow shifters and adders, significantly reducing reliance on floating-point accumulator and consequently improving energy efficiency. Compared with state-of-the-art architecture Bucket, WinAcc achieves 33.95% energy reduction across seven representative DNNs and reduces area by 9.5% while maintaining superior model performance.

The evolution of different techniques for exploring cerebral activity and the development of signal processing and analysis methods have enabled a better understanding of the dynamic cerebral mechanisms in favor of fine diagnosis and characterization of certain diseases such as dementia and epilepsy. Integration of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) with electroencephalography (EEG) has offered the possibility of understanding new insights into neuroscientific studies because of the higher temporal and spatial measurements of brain activity when compared with the use of each technique separately. However, the experimental limitations of fMRI/EEG are mainly the numerous artifacts, mainly due to switching of magnetic field gradients and cardiac activity. To provide a comprehensive overview of this research area, a systematic mapping study has been conducted. This mapping study aims to identify the topics studied within the artifacts’ detection in EEG and fMRI data, as well as examine the adopted research methodologies, identify the gaps in the current research and point to directions for future research. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In pursuit of significant economy growth, most of the developed countries often ignore the importance of radioactive waste management, so the vast majority of nuclear power plants are still based on labor management, which is considered as inefficient way. The nuclear plant has limited operating life, which means it has to be dismantled after designated life limit, and the radioactive waste is also need to be disposed appropriately. In this research, an intelligent nuclear power plant decommissioning mechanism with cloud based was proposed, which include a comprehensive solution for dismantled parts transportation, radioactive waste management platform for radioactive waste storage facilities, and real-time nuclear waste drum status monitoring. Meanwhile, this mechanism also deploys software agents and cloud-based system, RFID as infrastructure to setup integrated information system. The result of this research could improve the current monitoring method for radioactive waste, from locating to storing, with the assistance of cloud-based information system. Furthermore, the solution for dismantled parts transportation may bring more safety for related workers. © Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2018.
