Path planning and tracking control are important modules of mobile robots, which have outstanding advantages in improving the flexibility of mobile robots. However, in the existing applications, these two modules are usually processed separately, which makes the obstacle avoidance process of the mobile robot uncontrollable and reduces the adaptability of the application scenario. In order to realize collision-free high-precision trajectory tracking control of mobile robots in dynamic scenes, this paper proposes an adaptive MPC control method based on curvature constraints, which can improve the safety of operation and reduce the chattering caused by unreasonable paths in the process of operation. Firstly, according to the kinematic constraints of general mobile robots, the constraint model of mobile robot path planning is constructed. At the same time, the adaptive parameter adjustment rules are adopted to realize the balance between the calculation efficiency and the control cycle. Finally, a smooth safe path is obtained by re-fitting the planned path and reprocessing the nodes with excessive curvature. Compared with traditional methods, the proposed method has better advantages.

Currently, human drivers outperform self-driving vehicles in many conditions such as collision avoidance. Therefore, understanding human driver behaviour in these conditions will provide insight for future autonomous vehicles. For understanding driver behaviour, risk assessment is applied so far as one of the approaches by using both subjective and objective measurement. Subjective measurement methods such as questionnaires may provide insight into driver risk assessment but there is often significant variability between drivers. Physiological measurements such as heart rate (HR), electroencephalogram (EEG), and electromyogram (EMG) provide more objective measurements of driver risk assessment. HR is often used for measuring driver’s risk assessment based on observed correlations between HR and risk perception. Previous work has used HR to measure driver’s risk assessment in self-driving systems, but pedestrian dynamics is not considered for the research. In this study, we observed driver’s behaviour in certain scenarios which have pedestrian on driving simulator. The scenarios have safe/unsafe situations (i.e., pedestrian crosses road and vehicle may hit pedestrian in one scenario), HR analysis in time/frequency domain is processed for risk assessment. As a result, HR analysis in frequency domain shows certain reasonability for driver risk assessment when driver has pedestrian in its traffic. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This work successfully developed an independent Ge-VCSEL epitaxy and fabrication technology route. This is the second successful Ge-VCSEL technology reported worldwide, and the first Ge-VCSEL technology with key details disclosed, including Ge substrate specification, transition layer structure and composition, and fabrication process etc. Compared with the GaAs counterparts, after epitaxy optimization, the Ge-VCSEL wafer has a 40% lower surface root-mean square roughness and 72% lower average bow-warp. Additionally, the Ge-VCSEL has a 10% lower threshold current density and a 19% higher maximum slope efficiency than the GaAs-VCSEL.

In recent years, several industries have widely applied BLDC servomotors for various purposes that they almost need a control system to be accurate and robust. In this paper, we compare an adaptive fuzzy controller and PI controller for BLDC servomotor position control in variable loads. The PI controller is tuned by both the trial-and-error and, Ziegler-Nichols methods. These controllers are implemented to servo system in simulation and physical system real-time with a variable loaded BLDC Motor. The obtained results in simulation and experiment indicate that adaptive fuzzy controller has much better behaviors than PI controller in terms of accuracy and reliability in presence of uncertainties.

Most of existing neural methods for multi-objective combinatorial optimization (MOCO) problems solely rely on decomposition, which often leads to repetitive solutions for the respective subproblems, thus a limited Pareto set. Beyond decomposition, we propose a novel neural heuristic with diversity enhancement (NHDE) to produce more Pareto solutions from two perspectives. On the one hand, to hinder duplicated solutions for different subproblems, we propose an indicator-enhanced deep reinforcement learning method to guide the model, and design a heterogeneous graph attention mechanism to capture the relations between the instance graph and the Pareto front graph. On the other hand, to excavate more solutions in the neighborhood of each subproblem, we present a multiple Pareto optima strategy to sample and preserve desirable solutions. Experimental results on classic MOCO problems show that our NHDE is able to generate a Pareto front with higher diversity, thereby achieving superior overall performance. Due to the significant ongoing expansion of computer networks in our lives nowadays, the demand for network security and protection from cyber-attacks has never been more imperative to either clients or businesses alike, which signifies the key role of cyber intrusion detection systems in network security. This article proposes a cyber-intrusion detecting system classification with MLP trained by a hybrid metaheuristic algorithm and feature selection based on multi-objective wrapper method. The classifier, named as HADMLP is trained using a hybridization of the artificial bee colony along with the dragonfly algorithm. A multi-objective artificial bee colony model which is wrapper-based is used for selection of feature. Hence, collective name of the proposed technique referred as MO-HADMLP. For performance evaluation, the proposed method was assessed using ISCX 2012 and KDD CUP 99 datasets. The results of our experiments indicate a significant enhancement to the efficacy of network intrusion detection when compared to other approaches. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper presents the sports apps based on a mobile application that has a function to help the provider or the owner of the sports field and sports vendor to promote their business in the apps. Due to the popularity and convenience that mobile applications had and high interest from many people in having a healthy life, it is a great opportunity to combine both of them. Therefore, this study focusses to build mobile sports application using object-oriented analysis and design method, that could meet the demand of lots of peoples that wants to do a sport especially a ball sport. Otherwise, the application can help and support the community and public, especially for ball sports fans, to make reservations for the sports field easier without having to come to the location and also meet their sporting needs. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper presents "AI Nüshu," an emerging language system inspired by Nüshu (women's scripts), the unique language created and used exclusively by ancient Chinese women who were illiterate under a patriarchy society. Through an interactive art installation, two artificial intelligent (AI) agents continuously observe their environment and communicate with each other, developing a writing system that encodes Chinese. In this system, two AI agents observe the environment through cameras, record the unconscious behaviors of the audience, and generate summaries of their observations through visual recognition. Subsequently, the agent associates the corresponding original Nüshu poetry lines and generates new poetry text through a Language Model (LLM), representing its reflection. To develop their language, they continuously switch roles between the speaker and listener, constantly communicating their reflections, and encrypting a word in the poetry line with their self-created AI Nüshu character, allowing the other to guess and learn. Gradually, they reach a consensus on AI Nüshu, forming a unique "AI Nüshu Dictionary" for machines. This language, algorithmically combined into corresponding characters, has components derived from Nüshu, similar to Chinese characters and traditional textile patterns. Thus, like ancient women, the two agents gradually developed their Chinese writing system, corresponding one-to-one with Chinese characters. In contrast, humans, as the authority of the language system, became an object observed, interpreted, and inspired by machines to stimulate non-human language. This is the first media art project to interpret Nüshu from a computational linguistics perspective, infusing AI and art research with non-English natural language processing, Chinese cultural heritage, and a feminist viewpoint. This paper introduces an augmented reality-based framework (called AugmentedBook) for e-learning that allows the creation of collaborative notes, illustrative media (i.e. video, 2D or 3D image, audio) for mobile devices or Google glass. The augmented content can be added to real-world educational support to make it more comprehensive, interactive and collaborative. In this platform, students and teachers can add collaborative notes to any part of the educational support system. They can also find illustrative media and indicate the pertinence of the result. Using our AugmentedBook platform, students can also download the enriched support using a mobile device. Our framework solves the problem of standard integration of augmented reality applications in education, offering a distributed framework which is e-learning compliant. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
