Multi-population mean-field game is a critical subclass of mean-field games (MFGs). It is a theoretically feasible multi-agent model for simulating and analyzing the game between multiple heterogeneous populations of interacting massive agents. Due to the factors of game complexity, dimensionality disaster and disturbances should be taken into account simultaneously, how to solve the multi-population high-dimensional stochastic MFG problem is faced with great challenges. We present CA-Net, a coupled alternating neural network approach for tractably solving multi-population high-dimensional MFGs in the stochastic case. First, we provide a universal modeling framework for large-scale heterogeneous multi-agent game systems, which is strictly expressed as a multi-population MFG problem. Next, we generalize the potential variational primal-dual structure that MFGs exhibit, then phrase the multi-population MFG problem as a convex-concave saddle-point problem. Last but not least, we design a generative adversarial network (GAN) with multiple generators and multiple discriminators—the solving network, which parameterizes the value functions and the density functions of multiple populations by two sets of neural networks, respectively. Numerous reports have elucidated the importance of mechanical resonators comprising quantum-dot-embedded carbon nanotubes(CNTs)for studying the effects of single-electron ***,there is a need to investigate the single-electron transport that drives a large amplitude into a nonlinear ***,a CNT hybrid device has been investigated,which comprises a gate-defined quantum dot that is embedded into a mechanical resonator under strong actuation *** Coulomb peak positions synchronously oscillate with the mechanical vibrations,enabling a single-electron Chopper*1 ***,the vibration amplitude of the CNT versus its frequency can be directly visualized via detecting the time-averaged single-electron tunneling *** understand this phenomenon,a general formula is derived for this time-averaged single-electron tunneling current,which agrees well with the experimental *** using this visualization method,a variety of nonlinear motions of a CNT mechanical oscillator have been directly recorded,such as Duffing nonlinearity,parametric resonance,and double-,fractional-,mixed-frequency *** approach opens up burgeoning opportunities for investigating and understanding the nonlinear motion of a nanomechanical system and its interactions with electron transport in quantum regimes.

Distributed time-varying formation control with uncertainties based on an event-triggered mechanism

This paper investigates the distributed time-varying formation(TVF) problems for general linear multi-agent systems(MASs) subject to matched bounded uncertainties based on an adaptive event-triggered mechanism. A TVF protocol was designed with an event-triggered mechanism by introducing adaptive weights into the formation control protocol and triggering condition, and the large chattering phenomenon was avoided by the σ-modification adaptive law. According to the Lyapunov stability theory, proof has been established that the MASs in the presence of uncertainties can realize the expected formation that satisfies the given feasible condition. Finally, an example is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

In this paper we extend our previous research on coherent observer-based pole placement approach to study the synthesis of robust decoherence-free (DF) modes for linear quantum passive systems, which is aimed at preservation of quantum information. In particular, DF modes can be generated by placing the poles on the imaginary axis via a coherent feedback design scheme, and these modes can further be simultaneously made robust against perturbations to the system parameters by minimizing the condition number associated with imaginary poles. We develop explicit algebraic conditions for the existence of such a coherent quantum controller, with the corresponding deign procedure provided. Examples are given to illustrate the process of tuning the DF modes towards perfect robustness via the proposed pole placement technique.

Universality of explosive percolation under product and sum rule

We study explosive percolation processes on random graphs for the so-called product rule (PR) and sum rule (SR), in which M candidate edges are randomly selected from all possible ones at each time step, and the edge with the smallest product or sum of the sizes of the two components that would be joined by the edge is added to the graph, while all other M−1 candidate edges are being discarded. These two rules are prototypical “explosive” percolation rules, which exhibit an extremely abrupt yet continuous phase transition in the thermodynamic limit. Recently, it has been demonstrated that PR and SR belong to the same universality class for two competing edges, i.e., M=2. Here we investigate whether the claimed PR-SR universality is valid for higher-order models with M larger than 2. Based on traditional finite-size scaling theory and largest-gap scaling, we obtain the percolation threshold and the critical exponents of the order parameter, susceptibility, and the derivative of entropy for PR and SR for M from 2 to 9. Our results strongly suggest PR-SR universality, for any fixed M.

Driven by the vision of integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) toward 6G technology, the WiFi-based respiration sensing approach has emerged as a highly competitive candidate for advanced healthcare services. Nevertheless, the indiscriminate perception of all the moving objects within the sensing area raises challenges for system stability and robustness for real-world deployment, especially for the susceptibility to motion interference from other people. Meanwhile, thanks to the emerging in-area wireless sensing technologies, i.e., beamforming, the dynamic environment tolerance of these technologies gives crucial opportunities for target-oriented WiFi-based healthcare services. This article discusses the compelling intersection of in-area WiFi sensing and the future of target-oriented intelligent respiratory healthcare network services. We first present a novel WiFi-based healthcare-assisting framework tailored for inter-user motion interference-tolerable (IMIT) sensing. The detailed components of low-level signal preprocessing, target-direction signal extraction, and healthcare-related services are discussed. By utilizing CSI beamforming technology, which adjusts a directional beam toward the desired direction and adaptively places beam nulls in noisy directions, we can mitigate motion interference and achieve target-oriented healthcare sensing. Finally, we discuss open challenges and potential solutions for target-oriented WiFi healthcare sensing. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

While deep learning has significantly advanced point cloud analysis, extracting effective features from their disordered structure remains challenging. Existing approaches often rely on complex network architectures or manual feature engineering to achieve rotation invariance, which increases inference latency. This paper offers a novel perspective on this challenge, showing that rotation-sensitive models can achieve performance comparable to rotation-invariant models when trained with rotation-augmented data. Given the significant differences in the feature distributions of rotation-sensitive and rotation-invariant models, we propose Feature Rotation Invariance Learning (FRIL), a framework that leverages Distance Metric Learning and rotation-based constraints to help rotation-sensitive models extract rotation-invariant features. This approach eliminates the need for additional modules, enabling robust performance against rotations. Extensive experiments demonstrate that FRIL consistently outperforms existing rotation-invariant methods across various visual tasks.

Low-light images are commonly encountered in real-world scenarios, and numerous low-light image enhancement (LLIE) methods have been proposed to improve the visibility of these images. The primary goal of LLIE is to generate clearer images that are more visually pleasing to humans. However, the impact of LLIE methods in high-level vision tasks, such as image classification and object detection, which rely on high-quality image datasets, is not well explored. To explore the impact, we comprehensively evaluate LLIE methods on these high-level vision tasks by utilizing an empirical investigation comprising image classification and object detection experiments. The evaluation reveals a dichotomy: While Low-Light Image Enhancement (LLIE) methods enhance human visual interpretation, their effect on computer vision tasks is inconsistent and can sometimes be harmful. Our findings suggest a disconnect between image enhancement for human visual perception and for machine analysis, indicating a need for LLIE methods tailored to support high-level vision tasks effectively. Solving Multitrip Pickup and Delivery Problem With Time Windows and Manpower Planning Using Multiobjective Algorithms

The multitrip pickup and delivery problem with time windows and manpower planning(MTPDPTW-MP)determines a set of ambulance routes and finds staff assignment for a hospital. It involves different stakeholders with diverse interests and objectives. This study firstly introduces a multiobjective MTPDPTW-MP(MO-MTPDPTWMP) with three objectives to better describe the real-world scenario. A multiobjective iterated local search algorithm with adaptive neighborhood selection(MOILS-ANS) is proposed to solve the problem. MOILS-ANS can generate a diverse set of alternative solutions for decision makers to meet their requirements. To better explore the search space, problem-specific neighborhood structures and an adaptive neighborhood selection strategy are carefully designed in MOILS-ANS. Experimental results show that the proposed MOILS-ANS significantly outperforms the other two multiobjective algorithms. Besides, the nature of objective functions and the properties of the problem are analyzed. Finally, the proposed MOILS-ANS is compared with the previous single-objective algorithm and the benefits of multiobjective optimization are discussed.
