Distributed cooperative guidance problems for multi-missile system with time-varying delays and switching topologies are investigated. Firstly, considering the complex communication environment, a two-step cooperative guidance strategy is proposed to achieve the simultaneous attack under time-varying delays and switching topologies. In the first step, a distributed cooperative guidance law using neighboring information is designed to coordinate range-to-go and leading angle based on feedback linearization and consensus theory. The second step starts while multi missiles disconnect from each other and hit the target using PNG（Proportional Navigation Guidance）. Then, the algorithm with three steps is presented to select the parameters in the cooperative guidance law. And the stability of the multi-missile system is proven using Lyapunov-Krasovskii theory. Finally, a numerical simulation is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed cooperative guidance strategy.

Correlation filter-based trackers have achieved competitive results in the field of visual tracking, but the abilities to deal with the multi-scale and keep the tracking stability still need to be improved. In this article, the complex background tracking problems are studied based on the kernel correlation filter. In order to address the fixed size limitation, we present an improved scheme, which can not only realize scale adaption, but also retain the advantages of the original algorithm. In addition, the adaptive update learning rate of the model is achieved by using the peak sidelobe ratio as an indicator to measure the filter performance. Using the index, we can selectively reduce the model interference to low precision information. Moreover, we design a redetection mechanism that runs automatically when the tracking evaluation indicator is low. Compared with the radical model update methods, those conservative update strategies can effectively decrease the model pollution and ensure the tracking effect. Extensive verifications based on OTB-100 benchmark show that the optimized algorithm improves the accuracy, robustness, and generalization ability of target tracking.

American scientist Adelman first used DNA molecules to solve the NP-complete problem, thus creating a new research field. As an advanced interdisciplinary subject, it has attracted many scholars because of its high parallelism, great storage density and low energy consumption. DNA sequence design is critical in the field of DNA computing. The success of DNA computing depends on the quality of DNA sequence. In this paper, we proposed an improved gravitational search algorithm for DNA sequence design. We improved the gravitational coefficient and introduced chaotic system and Gaussian mutation to the position update of the particles. We compared the result from our improved algorithm with the result obtained by other algorithms. The result shows that our proposed algorithm can generate high quality DNA sequence for DNA computing. © 2019 IEEE.

Dark Scattering (DS) is an interacting dark energy model characterised by pure momentum exchange between dark energy and dark matter. It is phenomenologically interesting because it is unconstrained by CMB data and can alleviate the S8 tension. We derive constraints on cosmological and DS parameters using three two-point correlation functions (3×2pt) from the Dark Energy Survey third year data release (DES Y3). We then add information from the multipoles of the galaxy power spectrum combined with Baryonic Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) measurements using the twelfth data release of the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS DR12) and external BAO measurements. We compare results from the direct combination of the probes with the joint posterior distribution calculated with a normalising flow approach. Additionally, we run a CMB analysis with the Planck Public Release 4 (PR4) for comparison of the cosmological constraints. Overall, we find that the combination of probes allows minimising the projection effects and improves constraints without the need to include CMB information. It brings the marginalised posterior maxima closer to the corresponding best-fit values and weakens the sensitivity to the priors of the spectroscopic modelling nuisance parameters. These findings are highly relevant in light of forthcoming data of surveys like DESI, Euclid, and Rubin. © 2025, CC BY.

Formation-containment control problems for general linear multi-agent systems with time-varying delays and switching topologies are studied. The leaders are required to accomplish a given time-varying formation and the followers are allowed to enter the convex envelope spanned by those of the leaders simultaneously. Firstly, formation-containment protocols based on distributed state observer with switching interaction topologies and time-varying delays are presented for leaders and followers respectively, where an edge-based state observer is presented for each follower to estimate the whole states of all the leaders under the influences of switching interaction topologies and time-varying delays. Then, formation- containment problems are transformed into asymptotic stability problems. Furthermore, an algorithm to determine the gain matrices in the protocols is given based on linear matrix inequality technique and common Lyapunov-Krasovskii stability theory. Sufficient conditions for multi-agent systems to achieve formation-containment under the designed protocol are proposed. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate theoretical results.

Cooperative bi-path metric for few-shot learning

Given base classes with sufficient labeled samples, the target of few-shot classification is to recognize unlabeled samples of novel classes with only a few labeled samples. Most existing methods only pay attention to the relationship between labeled and unlabeled samples of novel classes, which do not make full use of information within base classes. In this paper, we make two contributions to investigate the few-shot classification problem. First, we report a simple and effective baseline trained on base classes in the way of traditional supervised learning, which can achieve comparable results to the state of the art. Second, based on the baseline, we propose a cooperative bi-path metric for classification, which leverages the correlations between base classes and novel classes to further improve the accuracy. Experiments on two widely used benchmarks show that our method is a simple and effective framework, and a new state of the art is established in the few-shot classification field. Understanding human mobility patterns at the point-of-interest (POI) scale plays an important role in enhancing business intelligence in mobile environments. While large efforts have been made in this direction, most studies simply utilize POI check-ins to mine the concerned mobility patterns, the effectiveness of which is usually hindered due to data sparsity. To obtain better POI-based human mobility for mining, in this paper, we strive to directly annotate the POIs associated with raw user-generated mobility records. We propose a neural context fusion approach which integrates various context factors in people's POI-visiting behaviors. Our approach evaluates the preference and transition factors via representation learning. Notably, we incorporate an attention mechanism to deal with the randomized transitions in raw mobility. The domain knowledge factors, i.e., distance, time and popularity, remain effective and our approach further includes them from a data-driven perspective. Factors are automatically fused with a feed-forward neural network. Furthermore, we exploit a multi-head architecture to enhance the model expressiveness. Using two real-life data sets, we conduct our experimental study and find that our approach consistently outperforms the state-of-the-art baselines by at least 32 percent in accuracy. Besides, we demonstrate the utility of the obtained POI-based human mobility with a POI recommendation example.

We study the problem of leveraging the syntactic structure of text to enhance pre-trained models such as BERT and RoBERTa. Existing methods utilize syntax of text either in the pre-training stage or in the fine-tuning stage, so that they suffer from discrepancy between the two stages. Such a problem would lead to the necessity of having human-annotated syntactic information, which limits the application of existing methods to broader scenarios. To address this, we present a model that utilizes the syntax of text in both pre-training and fine-tuning stages. Our model is based on Transformer with a syntax-aware attention layer that considers the dependency tree of the text. We further introduce a new pre-training task of predicting the syntactic distance among tokens in the dependency tree. We evaluate the model on three downstream tasks, including relation classification, entity typing, and question answering. Results show that our model achieves state-of-the-art performance on six public benchmark datasets. We have two major findings. First, we demonstrate that infusing automatically produced syntax of text improves pre-trained models. Second, global syntactic distances among tokens bring larger performance gains compared to local head relations between contiguous tokens. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.
