This paper describes annotations for the Corpus of Spontaneous Japanese. The information we annotated to the corpus includes morphemes, clause units, dependency structures, summaries, and discourse structures. They are integrated in the form of XML. Morphological information was semi-automatically annotated to the transcribed text by reducing the human labor cost within the framework of morphological annotation that we proposed. Next, clause unites were detected based on the morphological information as basic units for our annotation. Then, dependency structures, summaries, discourse structures were annotated based on the clause units.

The solution of the Boltzmann transport equation using Method of Characteristics ray tracing can be accurate yet computationally expensive. Ray tracing would be inherently parallelizable with a very fine granularity if the boundary condition associated with each ray were known a priori. In practice, however, ray tracing is serial since the boundary condition for one ray is generally obtained from another ray in the problem. In the work here, an alternative implementation of ray tracing is presented that minimizes serialization and reduces the memory requirements. A new algorithm was implemented in the MOC code DeCART and demonstrated for a BWR assembly model.

In order to evaluate the heated process of the target, S parameter, and initial design of cavity size in the furnaces for dielectric heating such as microwave oven, the coupled analysis of electromagnetic wave and heat conduction (EM-HC coupled analysis) is a useful tool for practical design. In this paper, valuable EM-HC coupled analysis method with rotational motion of heated target such as turntable and temperature-dependent complex permittivity by using edge-based finite element method is proposed. An objective evaluation of a system that provides the experience of hands of different sizes is performed from the viewpoint of the change in grasping pattern. The hand size is recognized as being different from that of the subject's actual hand (normal hand) when the hands of various sizes are presented in an environment that appears to be of constant size. This is achieved by viewing a hand and an analogous object through an optical system that adjusts its scaling rate to visually maintain the object size. An objective evaluation of this system is performed by investigating the grasp strategy depending on the hand size and object size reported in T. Shirai et al. (1998). The experimental results reveal that a similar grasp strategy that depends on hand size is observed for the proposed system based on the presented hand size. In addition, the experimental results reveal that it is important to vary the hand and object sizes visually through an optical system rather than simply using analogous objects without visual scaling.

Nowadays, the slanted lenticular display becomes a representative one among the commercially introduced autostereoscopic displays. The paper presents a simple method to correct the lenticular alignment error by compensating the correction coefficients to the view number determination formula. Then, based on the corrected view numbers, the proposed algorithm simultaneously performs floating-point viewpoint generation and multiplexing on the scanline using the stereo image pairs and its depth information. Experimental results show that lenticular images, in which distortion and artifact due to lenticular alignment error are considerably reduced, are generated rapidly by using the proposed algorithm.

In this work we present a set of computer codes based either on the finite element method or on the expansion of the Hamiltonian in a defined basis intended to help the design and the analysis of infrared photo-detectors based on semiconductor quantum wells and quantum dots. Our codes are capable of handling both arbitrary potential and effective mass profiles and they take into account the strain induced by lattice mismatch between different materials. In the present version, the computer codes allow the computation of eigenvalues, eigenvectors and oscillator strain for optical transitions. The results are presented in a graphic interface and some examples are included.
