Predicting circRNA-Disease Associations by Using Multi-Biomolecular Networks Based on Variational Graph Auto-Encoder with Attention Mechanism

CircRNA-disease association(CDA) can provide a new direction for the treatment of diseases. However,traditional biological experiment is time-consuming and expensive, this urges us to propose the reliable computational model to predict the associations between circRNAs and diseases. And there is existing more and more evidence indicates that the combination of multi-biomolecular information can improve the prediction accuracy. We propose a novel computational model for CDA prediction named MBCDA, we collect the multi-biomolecular information including circRNA, disease, miRNA and lncRNA based on 6 databases, and construct three heterogeneous network among them, then the multi-heads graph attention networks are applied to these three networks to extract the features of circRNAs and diseases from different views, the obtained features are put into variational graph auto-encoder(VGAE) network to learn the latent distributions of the nodes, a fully connected neural network is adopted to further process the output of VGAE and uses sigmoid function to obtain the predicted probabilities of circRNA-disease *** a result, MBCDA achieved the values of AUC and AUPR under 5-fold cross-validation of 0.893 and 0.887. MBCDA was applied to the analysis of the top-25 predicted associations between circRNAs and diseases, these experimental results show that our proposed MBCDA is a powerful computational model for CDA prediction.

To solve the problem of undesired relative motion of human-machine interaction positions caused by misalignment of the human-machine joints rotation axis of the knee exoskeleton,this study designed an adaptive knee exoskeleton based on a gear-link mechanism(GLM)by considering the human body as a component of the exoskeleton ***,the concept of the wearable area(WA)was proposed,which transformed the operation of aligning the exoskeleton rotation axis with the human knee joint rotation axis into a"face alignment point"in the sagittal plane,reducing the difficulty of aligning the human-machine joint rotation *** the kinematic analysis of GLM,the phenomenon of instantaneous movement of the central axis of the human knee joint was *** on the kinematic model,the WA,velocity transfer ratio,and initial position static stiffness of GLM were *** NSGA-II optimization algorithm was used to optimize the size parameters of GLM,which increased the WA by 18.4%,the average velocity transfer ratio by 4.98%,and the average initial position static stiffness by 6.01%.Finally,the ability of the exoskeleton to absorb movement displacement(MD)was verified through simulation,and the good human-machine kinematic compatibility of the exoskeleton was verified through wearable tests conducted on the initial mechanism principle prototype.

Efficient propane dehydrogenation catalyzed by Ru nanoparticles anchored on a porous nitrogen-doped carbon matrix

Propane dehydrogenation(PDH)is a vital industrial process for producing propene,utilizing primarily Cr-based or Pt-based *** catalysts often suffer from challenges such as the toxicity of Cr,the high costs of noble metals like Pt,and deactivation issues due to sintering or coke formation at elevated *** introduce an exceptional Ru-based catalyst,Ru nanoparticles anchored on a nitrogendoped carbon matrix(Ru@NC),which achieves a propane conversion rate of 32.2%and a propene selectivity of 93.1%at 550°C,with minimal coke deposition and a low deactivation rate of 0.0065 h^(-1).Characterizations using techniques like TEM and XPS,along with carefully-designed controlled experiments,reveal that the notable performance of Ru@NC stems from the modified electronic state of Ru by nitrogen dopant and the microporous nature of the matrix,positioning it as a top contender among state-of-the-art PDH catalysts.

Bamboo-like MnO_(2)·Co_(3)O_(4):High-performance catalysts for the oxidative removal of toluene

Themanganese-cobalt mixed oxide nanorodswere fabricated using a hydrothermalmethod with different metal precursors(KMnO_(4)and MnSO_(4)·H_(2)O for MnOx and Co(NO3)2>6H_(2)O and CoCl_(2)>6H_(2)O for Co_(3)O_(4)).Bamboo-like MnO_(2)>Co_(3)O_(4)(B-MnO_(2)>Co_(3)O_(4)(S))was derived from repeated hydrothermal treatments with Co_(3)O_(4)@MnO_(2)and MnSO_(4)>H_(2)O,whereas Co_(3)O_(4)@MnO_(2)nanorods were derived from hydrothermal treatment with Co_(3)O_(4)nanorods and KMnO_(4).The study shows that manganese oxide was tetragonal,while the cobalt oxide was found to be cubic in the crystalline *** surface ions were present in multiple oxidation states(e.g.,Mn^(4+)and Mn^(3+))and surface oxygen *** content of adsorbed oxygen species and reducibility at low temperature declined in the sequence of BMnO_(2)>Co_(3)O_(4)(S)>Co_(3)O_(4)@MnO_(2)>MnO_(2)>Co_(3)O_(4),matching the changing trend in *** all the samples,B-MnO_(2)>Co_(3)O_(4)(S)showed the preeminent catalytic performance for the oxidation of toluene(T10%=187℃,T50%=276℃,and T90%=339℃).In addition,the B-MnO_(2)>Co_(3)O_(4)(S)sample also exhibited good H_(2)O^(-),CO_(2)^(-),and SO_(2)^(-)resistant *** good catalytic performance of B-MnO_(2)>Co_(3)O_(4)(S)is due to the high concentration of adsorbed oxygen species and good reducibility at low *** oxidation over B-MnO_(2)>Co_(3)O_(4)(S)proceeds through the adsorption of O_(2)and toluene to form O∗,OH∗,and H_(2)C(C6H5)∗species,which then react to produce benzyl alcohol,benzoic acid,and benzaldehyde,ultimately converting to CO_(2)and H_(2)*** findings suggest that B-MnO_(2)>Co_(3)O_(4)(S)has promising potential for use as an effective catalyst in practical applications.

Aluminum is an attractive alternative fuel,but it burns very inefficiently due to the formation of a dense Al_(2)O_(3)layer which prevents O_(2)from diffusion to the surface of Al *** previous experiments,the combustion of millimeter-sized Al(mAl)particles in the fluidized bed has achieved a substantial increase in the combustion efficiency,but further improvements are still *** this study,the effects of reaction atmosphere on the fluidized combustion of mAl particles were *** experiments with different O_(2)/H_(2)O/CO_(2)concentrations were *** experimental results indicate that the combustion efficiency of mAl particles in fluidized bed increases as the mole fraction of O_(2),H_(2)O or CO_(2)increases,and the highest combustion efficiency can reach 38.7%.After the analysis of the oxide film on the surface of aluminum particles,it was found that it is easier to generate the unstableθ-Al_(2)O_(3)under CO_(2)atmosphere,and it is easier to generate the unstableγ-Al_(2)O_(3)andθ-Al_(2)O_(3)under H_(2)O *** unstable Al_(2)O_(3)film is more likely to be abraded in the fluidized bed,which leads to the effective improvement of the combustion efficiency.

Spatial confinement:An effective strategy to improve H_(2)O and SO_(2) resistance of the expandable graphite-modified TiO_(2)-supported Pt nanocatalysts for CO oxidation

The expandable graphite(EG)modified TiO_(2) nanocomposites were prepared by the high shearmethod using the TiO_(2) nanoparticles(NPs)and EG as precursors,in which the amount of EG doped in TiO_(2) was 10 wt.%.Followed by the impregnation method,adjusting the pH of the solution to 10,and using the electrostatic adsorption to achieve spatial confinement,the Pt elementswere mainly distributed on the exposed TiO_(2),thus generating the Pt/10EG-TiO_(2)-10 *** best CO oxidation activity with the excellent resistance to H_(2)O and SO_(2) was obtained over the Pt/10EG-TiO_(2)-10 catalyst:CO conversion after 36 hr of the reaction was ca.85%under the harsh condition of 10 vol.%H_(2)O and 100 ppm SO_(2) at a high gaseous hourly space velocity(GHSV)of 400,000 hr−*** properties of the catalystswere characterized by various *** results showed that the electrostatic adsorption,which riveted the Pt elements mainly on the exposed TiO_(2) of the support surface,reduced the dispersion of Pt NPs on EG and achieved the effective dispersion of Pt NPs,hence significantly improving CO oxidation activity over the Pt/10EG-TiO_(2)-10 *** 10 wt.%EG doped in TiO_(2) caused the TiO_(2) support to form a more hydrophobic surface,which reduced the adsorption of H_(2)O and SO_(2) on the catalyst,greatly inhibited deposition of the TiOSO_(4) and formation of the PtSO4 species as well as suppressed the oxidation of SO_(2),thus resulting in an improvement in the resistance to H_(2)O and SO_(2) of the Pt/10EG-TiO_(2)-10 catalyst.

Fire preparedness is an essential issue in protecting both human life and property. In addition to the fact that, especially in urban areas, buildings tend to be more densely built, the predominant building structure in many countries is still wood, which is vulnerable to fire. As a result, large-scale building fires, known as 'urbanfires', have occurred many times. Because fire is a very complex and uncertain event, a variety of study approaches have been taken. In this paper, we focus on the impact of wind speed and direction on urban fires and develop a fire model that can take advantage of real-time weather information using a graph network. The impact of the accuracy of wind speed and direction information on the accuracy of the fire model will also be verified through the simulation based on an actual fire using the developed fire model. The fire model constructed in this paper assumes urban fires that cause large-scale damage among building fires, and the target of prediction is the damage to buildings. A new contribution of this paper is the identification of the impact of wind on fire model accuracy and the proposal for highly accurate fire damage prediction with real-time weather information. © 2024 IEEE.

Servo-hydraulic actuators(SHAs)are widely used in mechanical equipment to drive heavy-duty ***,their energy efficiency is low,and their motion characteristics are inevitably affected by uncertain *** actuators(EMAs)possess superior energy efficiency and motion ***,they cannot easily drive heavy-duty mechanisms because of weak bearing *** study proposes and designs a novel electromechanical-hydraulic hybrid actuator(EMHA)that integrates the advantages of EMA and *** mainly features two transmission *** piston of the hydraulic transmission mechanism and the ball screw pair of the electromechanical transmission mechanism are mechanically fixed together through screw bolts,realizing the integration of two types of transmission *** control scheme of the electromechanical transmission mechanism is used for motion control,and the hydraulic transmission mechanism is used for power ***,the mathematical model,structure,and parameter design of the new EMHA are ***,the EMHA prototype and test platform are *** test results prove that the EMHA has good working characteristics and high energy *** with the valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder system,EMHA exhibits a velocity tracking error and energy consumption reduced by 49.7% and 54%,respectively,under the same working conditions.

Spin-configuration of emission states in zero-dimensional metal halides

Understanding the spin-configuration of excited states in a luminescent material is essential for tailoring its properties for many applications such as light-emitting diodes and spin-optoelectronic ***-dimensional organic-inorganic metal halide（0D-OIMH） materials have demonstrated remarkable potential in diverse applications owing to their captivating optoelectronic characteristics. However, the electronic structure and spin-configuration of the frequently observed dual-peak emission in these materials remains a subject of intensive debate. In this study, we employ low-temperature magneto-optical measurements to investigate the excited state structure of a representative 0D-OIMH, namely（Bmpip）2SnBr4. The spin-configurations of the dark and bright states are clearly elucidated by measuring the magneto-polarization of the emissions. Our results reveal that the high-energy peak arises from bright excited states within a higher energy band, whilst the low-energy peak originates from a combination of triplet-bright states and singlet-dark states. These findings provide an unambiguous understanding of the exciton structures of the distinctive 0D-OIMHs.
