In this paper, to expand a control bandwidth of AC servo motor, a new current vector control considering an output delay of PWM Inverter is proposed. The proposed current control is a I-P control with an additional feedback gain, which is based on an extended state feedback consisted from a d-q motor model, the output delay of PWM inverter and an integrator of ACR. In addition, the proposed method is easy to implement to the existing AC servo system. The effectiveness of proposed method is validated in a computer simulation and an experiments using a 3.7 kW class motor test bench. In the condition that a cut-off frequency of ACR is close to a carrier frequency, the simulation results show that the proposed method dramatically improves the current response at the higher cut-off frequency. Moreover, the experimental results show that the proposed method dramatically improves the current response at each operating point. From the results, the proposed method is effective to the expand the bandwidth of AC servo motor. © 2024 IEEE.

In textile processing companies, after purchasing fabric, dyeing, and other treatments, such as surface finishing are carried out before shipping. Defect detection technology is one of the most important issues in this field. Because if we ship a defective fabric without noticing the defect, it will cause damage to the delivery destination. Previously, defect detection of fabric has been performed using methods such as CNN. However, conventional methods such as general multilayer neural networks require two separate processing stages: object detection and identification. Therefore, there is a problem that sufficient real-time performance cannot be guaranteed in the inspection process on an actual manufacturing line. Therefore, in this study, we construct a fabric defect detection system using YOLO which is capable of real-time object detection. In the future, we aim to realize the automation of textile defect detection systems by the construction of an image recognition system using machine learning. It is expected that this will result from reduced detection errors by the human eye, improve detection accuracy, and reduce labor costs. © 2023 IEEE.

The issue of cost-sharing has been familiar since ancient times. Even today, it is used in various situations, such as cost-sharing for infrastructure development and contributions to neighborhood associations. Many methods have been proposed for the cost-sharing problem. One typical solution is the Shapley value. However, there are cases where the best solution cannot be obtained. In addition, if the solution is disadvantageous to the parties, there is a risk of dissatisfaction and failure to reach an agreement. On the other hand, gaming solutions are attracting attention. A mutually satisfactory solution can be obtained by gaming by solving the cost-sharing problem between the parties. Furthermore, better solutions than other methods have been derived. In this paper, we report on the optimal solution derived from the gaming results, its educational effects, and the results of a webinar on gaming in Finland and Japan. © 2023 IEEE.

In the artificial intelligence, machine learning and neural network fields, many practical use models have been proposed. However, these models are based on a digital Von Neumann model's computer. There are a minority of studies in the field of analog learning neural networks. In our previous study, we used multiple circuits as connecting weights. Multiple circuits calculate the product of the two input values, input signals and connecting weights. However, the working range is very small because of the semiconductor characteristics. When constructing a network, one of the disadvantages is that the input and output range is limited. Furthermore, the circuit operation becomes unstable because of the characteristics of the multiple circuit. In this study, we proposed logarithmic four-quadrant multiple circuits as a connecting weight. From the experimental result, it is shown that this circuit operates stably over a wide range. The model works using pure analog electronic circuits. The learning time is quite short compare to a digital process computer. We improved the number of units and network layers. Moreover, we suggest the possibility of the realization of the hardware implementation of the deep learning model. © 2021 IEEE.

Electric field control of magnetization is expected to be utilized for energy-efficient nonvolatile magnetic memory application. Co3+-substituted BiFeO3 (BFCO) exhibits both ferroelectric polarization (∼100µC/cm2) and the spin canting induced weakly ferromagnetic moment (∼0.03µB/f.u.) perpendicular to each other at room temperature. Magnetization reversal by electric field was observed in a BFCO thin film. In our previous theoretical calculation, spin canted collinear structure having a weak ferromagnetic moment was stabilized when high-spin Co3+ was substituted in BiFeO3. To confirm the presence of high-spin Co3+ in BFCO, the pressured-induced spin-state transition of Co3+ was investigated by first-principles calculations and Co Kβ synchrotron x-ray emission spectroscopy. We investigated the spin state of Co3+ during the pressure-induced structural transition from R3c to Pnma. As a result, a pressure-induced transition from high-spin to low-spin Co3+ was predicted. Moreover, the presence of high-spin Co3+ at ambient pressure was confirmed in BiFe0.8Co0.2O3 by observing the decrease of Kβ′ peaks of Co Kβ x-ray emission spectra under pressure. This study provides evidence that the weak ferromagnetism of BFCO is attributed to high-spin Co3+ and provides insight that may help to enhance weak magnetization by substitution of other elements.

To measure the proton current in a PCFC (protonic ceramic fuel cell), the proton current detector was developed using a proton conducting oxide. The amount of proton current that flowed in the PCFC can be measured by an apparatus developed based on the electromotive force of an electrochemical cell using 10 mol% In-doped CaZrO3 (hydrogen sensor) and Y-stabilized zirconia (oxygen sensor). The water vapor pressure on the cathode changed when hydrogen ions pass through the PCFC. The hydrogen ion current can be determined by monitoring the water vapor pressure. The electronic leakage was then estimated from the hydrogen ion current and external current. We measured the current of hydrogen flowing through protonic ceramic fuel cell using ytterbium-doped barium zirconate as the electrolyte. Hydrogen ions and holes were found to leak under the OCV at 700°C. The electronic leakage was found to be suppressed with the increasing electrolyte film thickness. On the other hand, no leakage of hydrogen and holes was observed at 500°C. © The Electrochemical Society.
