Effect of Graphite Addition on Microstructure, Mechanical Properties and Thermal Properties of Injection Molded AZ91D Alloy+1

Magnesium chips were coated with a high concentration of graphite using a binder and were used as the raw material for injection molding. The microstructure of the magnesium injection-molded product with added graphite exhibited a dispersion of needle-like graphite particles. No significant voids were observed at the interfaces between the graphite and the matrix. The addition of more than 0.5 mass% graphite decreased the proof stress and tensile strength of the injection-molded products. The Young’s modulus of the graphite-added products tended to decrease with an increase in the graphite content, which is consistent with the lower limit of the rule of mixtures. The thermal conductivity of the 6.9 mass% graphite-added product increased compared with that of the AZ91D magnesium alloy and the coefficient of linear thermal expansion decreased. Both values are within a range that satisfied the rules of mixtures. © 2024 The Japan Institute of Metals and Materials.

This article proposes a novel Peeling of Nano-Particle (PNP) process to locally remove material on a hard material surface using controllable magnetic fields. Fe3O4 particles in the size range of 50-100 nm in aqueous solution (pH value 11 adjusted by KOH) were magnetically controlled to adhere and remove from a 4H-SiC surface by two electromagnetic coils, which were sandwiched between the substrate. The particle controlling phenomenon on the surface was experimentally observed and verified by our developed apparatus applying an evanescent field. According to the results, particles could be controlled to approach and remove from the substrate surface with 12mT of magnetic field at the selective area on the substrate surface to realise the proposed PNP process. © European Society for Precision engineering and Nanotechnology, Conference Proceedings - 22nd International Conference and Exhibition, EUSPEN 2022. In the wet semiconductor process, abrasive nanoparticles are widely used in the chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) process to polish wafer surfaces for high planarization. During polishing, nanoparticles move with a high-speed three-dimensional (3D) position in the solution. In the 3D particles's moving positions, Z is a perpendicular longitudinal distance between the surface to the nanoparticle that plays a significant role in polishing, which could not be measured by general microscopy without longitudinal scanning. To understand nanoparticle phenomena near-surface, we have proposed and developed the apparatus with real-time fastmotion tracking on optical multi-wavelength evanescent fields microscopy to measure the 3D motion of the nanoparticle in water without scanning. In euspen's 2020, we could verify the relative distance ?Z of nanoparticles in water, but the absolute distance Z is unknown yet. In this manuscript, we have therefore developed an invisible nano-step height in water to verify the absolute height Z of an individual nanoparticle. The invisible nano-step height in water is made from an optical resin with a refractive index of 1.35 that is close to a refractive index of water to avoid unnecessary light during experimental verification. The nano-step height was less than 100 nm on a glass surface, fabricated using nanoimprint lithography. Polystyrene f100 nm standard particles in water were used to verify the height Z. The results of height Z of nanoparticles could be measured less than 100 nm with the measurement uncertainty ±10 nm (2s), which is related to the interferometer result of the nano-step height. © European Society for Precision engineering and Nanotechnology, Conference Proceedings - 22nd International Conference and Exhibition, EUSPEN 2022. A Q(t) meter is used to measure electrical properties in insulating materials. Here, Q(t) is the integral value of circuit current with time t. It is possible to measure the Q(t) of the insulation material of a capacitor and a cable by using Q(t) meter. The current through an insulating material is divided into an instantaneous charging current, an absorption current and an equilibrium leakage current. It is considered that the absorption current is related to charge accumulation in the insulating materials. In this paper, an enameled wire (1.6 PEW) is used to prepare a cable sample, the Q(t) of the coated polyester (PEs) is measured, and extraction of absorption current components from measured Q(t) are reported. © 2023 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

This study examines a method of effective utilization as knowledge in organizational stored information of business activities. More specifically, the purpose of this study is developing a system that supports efficient finding of appropriate knowledge from the stored information according to a question sentence input from a user. As an approach, we used automatic documents summarization technology to obtain valuable information from the stored information and we evaluated the effectiveness based on the real bulletin board system data from a certain company.

Several position sensorless control methods of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) using observers have been proposed. In the case of full-order observers, these designs are difficult because the order of the error equations of observers becomes an order of four. In this paper, to realize the position sensorless control of IPMSMs, a design method for full-order observers based on the extended electromotive force (EEMF) is proposed, and the pole assignment of the proposed observer is studied. Experimental results of the position sensorless control of an IPMSM show the usefulness of this proposed design method for the full-order observer compared to the case where poles are merely assigned on the left half plane.

Synchronous reluctance motors (SynRMs) have attracted attention because they have no magnets. The position sensorless control of SynRMs at low speeds is desired, and several methods have been proposed. A new position sensorless control method for SynRMs in a very-low-speed region has been proposed by the authors. It involves superimposing a high-frequency current with a small constant amplitude, using a high-frequency current control system. This paper shows that robust position sensorless control against inductance variations can be realized using this proposed method. Experiments showed that the proposed method is very useful even in a very-low-speed region.

With the rapid development of the Internet and artificial intelligence, intelligent question answering systems have become current research hotspots because they can provide users with accurate answers and intelligent services. They are gradually entering the e-commerce field to replace some manual work. In this paper, we proposed several models including a user intent recognition model, a pattern of association rule mining model and a model of the entire e-commerce auto answering system. In addition, the application effects of these models were analysed. The models and analysis in this work are useful for constructing e-commerce automatic question answering system or making personalized recommendations and related services.

The 0/1 knapsack problem is a typical problem in the field of operational research and combinatorial optimization, and it belongs to the NP problem. Research on the solutions of the 0/1 knapsack problem algorithm has very important practical value. This paper first described the 0/1 knapsack problem, and then presented the algorithm analysis, design and implementation of the 0/1 knapsack problem using the brute force algorithm, the greedy algorithm, the genetic algorithm and the dynamic programming algorithm, and compared the four algorithms in terms of algorithm complexity and accuracy. On this basis, the future research directions of the 0/1 knapsack problem were analysed, and we proposed to use the rough set theory to solve the 0/1 knapsack problem. This paper can provide insight for solving the 0/1 knapsack problem and applications.
