A compact reconfigurable CMOS bandpass filter (BPF) with high selectivity is proposed using transformer-type resonators in this article. The transformer-type resonator is constructed by a transformer loaded with parallel varactors for frequency tuning, and two varactors are then added across primary wind and secondary wind for coupling tuning. With the transformer-type structure, one resonator is formed inside another resonator, thus fully utilizing the chip area and resulting in a miniaturized structure. Magnetic and electrical couplings are formed within the transformer-type resonator and facilitate the bandwidth (BW) tuning. The quality factor (Q) of each resonator is improved by cross-coupled negative resistance structure. Meanwhile, two pairs of transformer-type resonators are placed side-by-side and naturally form a quadruplet structure;as a result, two transmission zeros (TZs) are introduced at each side of the passband thus significantly improving the selectivity and stopband rejection of the BPF. The proposed tunable on-chip BPF is manufactured by a commercial 55 nm bulk CMOS technology with a core area of 1.48 × 0.54 mm2. The filter center frequency (CF) can be tuned from 2.2 to 3.6 GHz, while the 3 dB fractional BW (FBW) can be tuned from 14% to 33%. The shape factor of the proposed filter is 1.4-1.9. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) is a toxic gas that can cause respiratory problems, and sensing its presence is crucial for environmental monitoring and industrial safety. This investigation presents a novel approach towards sensing NO₂ gas by utilizing partially completed/recycled silicon solar cells employing a metal-assisted etching process to fabricate a high-performance p-black-silicon based sensor. Structural and morphological analyses using X-ray diffraction patterns, Raman spectroscopy and cross sectional FESEM characterization confirm the integrity of the p-B-silicon sensor. By combining recycling techniques with advanced fabrication methods, the resulting sensor exhibits exceptional sensitivity, a low detection limit of 1 ppm, and rapid response times (12-14 s) when exposed to NO₂ gas concentrations ranging from 1 to 5 ppm. The enhanced sensitivity is attributed to the unique nanostructured comb-like morphology of the sensor material, which facilitates fast charge transport mechanisms, and a plausible sensing mechanism has been proposed and explained using a depletion model diagram and energy model diagram. This eco-friendly and cost-effective solution not only addresses electronic waste concerns but also highlights the potential of sustainable practices in scientific research. The findings emphasize on the importance of environmental consciousness and innovation, showcasing a promising future for gas sensing technology. By utilizing recycled materials and advanced fabrication techniques, this study contributes to the development of efficient, eco-friendly sensors for environmental monitoring applications, paving the way for a more sustainable and technologically advanced future in the field of gas sensors. © 2025 RSC.

In the process of coal mine drilling,controlling the rotary speed is important as it determines the efficiency and safety of *** this paper,a linear extended state observer(LESO)based backstepping controller for rotary speed is proposed,which can overcome the impact of changes in coal seam hardness on rotary ***,the influence of coal seam hardness on the drilling rig’s rotary system is considered for the first time,which is reflected in the numerical variation of load torque,and a dynamic model for the design of rotary speed controller is *** an LESO is designed to observe the load torque,and feedforward compensation is carried out to overcome the influence of coal seam *** on the model of the compensated system,a backstepping method is used to design a controller to achieve tracking control of the rotary ***,the effectiveness of the controller designed in this paper is demonstrated through simulation and field experiments,the steady-state error of the rotary speed in field is 1 r/min,and the overshoot is reduced to 5.8%.This greatly improves the stability and security,which is exactly what the drilling process requires.

The effectiveness of behavior change support systems (BCSS) in promoting health and well-being is unflinching. However, its long-term effectiveness is hindered by non-compliance. Research in BCSS that focuses on compliance is scarce, particularly the determinants of compliance intention are not well established. To address this gap, this study investigated the determinants of compliance intention in BCSS by extending the persuasive system design model to include competence, effectiveness, enjoyment, and persuasiveness. By surveying a sample of prospective BCSS users (N=234), partial least squares structural equation modeling was used to evaluate the proposed model. The findings suggest that the prospective users’ perceptions of primary task support and dialogue support, as well as social support and credibility support significantly influenced their perceptions of self-competence and system effectiveness respectively. These perceptions influenced enjoyment, then persuasiveness, and finally compliance intention. Future studies will validate these findings on the compliance behavior of BCSS. © 2023 29th Annual Americas Conference on Information systems, AMCIS 2023. All rights reserved.

An independent industrial system may transform into a connected network through the assistance of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The deployed sensors in the IIoT maintain surveillance of the industrial machinery and equipment. As a result, safety and reliability emerge as the primary concerns in IIoT. This presents a variety of well-known and increasing issues related to the industrial system. The IIoT devices are exposed to a wide range of malware, threats, and assaults. To prevent the IIoT devices from malware effects, effective protection plans must be implemented. But adequate security mechanisms are not be incorporated in IIoT devices with limited resources. It is essential to ensure the accuracy and dependability of information gathered by IIoT devices. Decisions taken with incomplete or inaccurate data might be devastating. To overcome these difficulties deep learning with reinforcement learning for complex decision-making in industry applications is developed in this research work. In this developed model, an Adaptive Deep Reinforcement learning (ADRL)-based resource management is performed to reduce the operation cost associated with IIoT deployments. Energy efficiency is essential in IIoT ecosystem, particularly for the devices that run on batteries. Through dynamic resource allocation based on workload needs and energy limits, ADRL-based resource management optimizes the usage of energy. The reliability of the designed model is enhanced by fine-tuning the parameters from DRL using the Ship Rescue Optimization (SRO) algorithm. Thus, ADRL-based resource management systems make real-time decisions based on current environmental conditions and system requirements. This helps the IIoT systems to react quickly to change demands and optimize resource allocation. Finally, the experimental analysis is performed to find the success rate of the developed resource management system via various metrics. Throughout the validation, the statistical analysis of the

At present, there exist some problems in granular clustering methods, such as lack of nonlinear membership description and global optimization of granular data boundaries. To address these issues, in this study, revolving around the parabolic granular data, we propose an overall architecture for parabolic granular modeling and clustering. To begin with, novel coverage and specificity functions are established, and then a parabolic granular data structure is proposed. The fuzzy c-means (FCM) algorithm is used to obtain the numeric prototypes, and then particle swarm optimization (PSO) is introduced to construct the parabolic granular data from the global perspective under the guidance of principle of justifiable granularity (PJG). Combining the advantages of FCM and PSO, we propose the parabolic granular modeling and optimization (PGMO) method. Moreover, we put forward attribute weights and sample weights as well as a distance measure induced by the Gaussian kernel similarity, and then come up with the algorithm of weighted kernel fuzzy clustering for parabolic granularity (WKFC-PG). In addition, the assessment mechanism of parabolic granular clustering is discussed. In summary, we set up an overall architecture including parabolic granular modeling, clustering, and assessment. Finally, comparative experiments on artificial, UCI, and high-dimensional datasets validate that our overall architecture delivers a good improvement over previous strategies. The parameter analysis and time complexity are also given for WKFC-PG. In contrast with related granular clustering algorithms, it is observed that WKFC-PG performs better than other granular clustering algorithms and has superior stability in handling outliers, especially on high-dimensional datasets. © 2020 IEEE.

A 1.65 to 1.84 GHz Filtering SPDT Switch With Fully Tunable Insertion Phase Using NRN and Mixed Electromagnetic Coupling Techniques

This brief presents a novel filtering single-pole-double-throw (SPDT) switch with continuously tunable center frequency and insertion phase. It is comprised of six varactor-loaded microstrip resonators and three tunable non-resonating nodes (NRNs) at source and loads. The controllable mixed electromagnetic couplings are introduced on the two main paths of each channel of the switch. At ON-state, the designed filtering switch can generate a 4th-order bandpass filtering performance with high selectivity, and the insertion phase can be continuously tuned with a full 360° tuning range by changing the reactances of NRNs and switching the dominated modes of the mixed couplings. At OFF-state, the mixed electromagnetic couplings are set to zero, and hence high isolation can be realized. To validate the proposed technique, a circuit prototype is designed and fabricated. The measured results suggest that the designed filtering SPDT switch can operate with a tunable center frequency ranging from 1.65 GHz to 1.84 GHz, and its insertion phase at ON-state channel can be continuously tuned from -180° to 180°. During the whole tuning process, the measured in-band isolation for OFF-state channel keeps better than 40 dB. © 2023 IEEE.

This work focuses on proposing a graph theory-based power flow (PF) solution for distributed energy resources (DERs) integrated single-phase radial and weakly meshed distribution networks. Several Matrices have been formulated which have been further classified into two categories. The first category of the matrix depicts the configuration and topology of the network, and the second one is deployed for the computation of PF parameters utilizing the property of the first one. The PF problem of distribution networks requires unique treatments to deal with weakly meshed configurations, and multiple DGs modeled as PV buses. For such a scenario, a compensating matrix has been formulated to calculate the pertinent additional current to be injected to compensate for the voltage magnitude difference between the two ends of each mesh break-point, and/or between computed and specified values at the PV bus. This computed current needs to be injected into the respective mesh breakpoints, and/or into the respective PV bus present in the network. The calculated pertinent injections are contemplated in the net branch current matrix. This helps in solving the PF problem of the network with weakly meshed structures, and DERs in a similar fashion to the radial network problem. Pertinent tests have been completed to examine the convergence nature and computational ability of the proposed PF technique. © 2023 IEEE.

Haptic feedback in telepresence applications is vital for remote task performance and object manipulation. To maximize telepresence capabilities, haptic systems need to be integrated with immersive telepresence interfaces such as virtual reality, which offer benefits such as improved spatial awareness and operator mobility. Compatibility with the mobility of these systems and their built-in optical hand tracking require low-profile wearable interfaces. Further, for full functional benefits, haptic systems must be able to elicit spatially congruent sensation without impeding operator movement and physical object interactions. In this paper, we describe the design of a lightweight, compact, and adaptable surface electrical nerve stimulation-based haptic interface. We demonstrate its capacity to consistently generate spatially congruent sensation on the all five fingertips without occlusion, as well as its compatibility with headset-based optical hand tracking. © 2024 IEEE.
