Ionic liquid choline chloride-urea dissolving cattle bone extracted hydroxyapatite

The dissolving technique of ionic liquid (IL) was applied in extraction process of hydroxyapatite (HAp). Product HAp was extracted by IL choline chloride-urea (ChCl-Urea) dissolving cattle bone. The optimum conditions for regeneration process of cattle bone were determined by single factor, orthogonal and verification experiments. IR spectra of regenerated bone, undissolved bone and raw bone showed that the main groups of regenerated bone did not change. It was indicated that ionic liquid did not damage the bone collagen of raw bone, and the collagen was only dissolved by IL. IR spectrum of the product HAp revealed that its components were similar to those of the natural bone. SEM pattern showed that the crystal shape of the product HAp appeared rod-like shape mostly, and the crystal structure was relatively complete. XRD diffraction explained that there was no difference between product HAp and standard HAp for the crystalline form and compositions. In the context of nonlinear and uncertain manipulator systems, achieving fast and accurate desired trajectories for each joint of the manipulator is crucial. Our study aims to improve current control methods by combining sliding mode control and neural network techniques. Specifically, we leverage the neural networks’ approximation capabilities to estimate both the modeling error and external disturbance in our research. These estimates are then integrated into the synovial control as additional gains. This approach allows for the sliding mode controller’s switch gain to adapt to changing modeling error and external disturbance, thereby avoiding the vibration production typically associated with traditional sliding mode controllers. It can be observed from the simulation results that the combination of the proposed nonsingular terminal sliding mode controller and neural network achieves fast and precise tracking of desired trajectories. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

In recent years, with the continuous development of China's hydropower projects, Pelton turbines are gradually being valued, and the focus of development has shifted from plain areas to plateau areas. Environmental impacts such as high altitude, water temperature, and high sediment content in the plateau area have caused serious interference to equipment that originally worked in a stable environment, for example, the failure of the cooperation between the parts of the turbine and the mutual seizure, the increased wear of the nozzle needle, the decrease of the flow rate and the water outlet speed of the nozzle, and the decrease of the air pressure in the plateau environment lead to the change of the flow state of the nozzle. In view of the above problems, this paper puts forward the design scheme of impulse turbine test-bed, using the method of changing specific speed to determine the basic parameters of impulse turbine unit, so as to eliminate the influence of plateau environment on the normal operation of turbine, obtain the efficiency condition of model experiment under low ambient pressure, and improve the operation efficiency and reliability of turbine unit. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Prediction model of bone drilling temperature based on heat source method in surgical rehabilitation

In order to feedback the cutting temperature in real time during the operation with the surgical robot, this study established a temperature prediction model to analyze the temperature distribution of the cortex. In this work, a three-dimensional governing equation for heat transfer of bone tissue during drilling is proposed, and the heat transfer of cortical bone is evaluated by a reverse heat transfer method. The prediction model was validated by experimental methods and the heat affected zone (HAZ) of cortical bone was analyzed. The results show that the prediction results are in good agreement with the relevant experimental results. HAZ increases with increasing rate of penetration; the closer the bone hole is, the earlier the temperature rises; and the temperature at which the cortical bone is difficult to measure (radial distance x < 0.5 mm) is predicted. The predictive model can accurately predict the temperature distribution of the cortical bone and prevent the occurrence of thermal damage. Provide technical support for the development of medical rehabilitation robots. And reduce the patient’s secondary injury, which is conducive to rapid recovery after surgery.

In this paper, we propose an omnidirectional electric wheelchair (OEW). The proposed OEW has four omniwheels for the omnidirectional movement. Two of the omniwheels are arranged to X-axis direction and the other two are arranged to Y-axis direction. By controlling the movement of the omniwheels, the OEW can instantaneously rotate and move in all directions. Hence that, especially in the narrow spaced indoor environment, the omnidirectional nature of the OEW has an advantage over the standard wheelchair. Furthermore, the operatorpsilas posture is used as signal to the OEW. The operatorpsilas posture is measured by a ldquoZabuton sensorrdquo which uses a pressure sensor to measure the pressure distribution. The effectiveness of proposed the system is reflected by the experimental results of the prototype OEW and Zabuton sensor system.

This paper considers a human assistive system of the rehabilitation for lower-limb using the exoskeleton. When the patient feels the fatigue in the rehabilitation, the power assist is needed to continue and to stop safety. First, the proposed power assist equipment using exoskeleton is indicated. The DC motor, the torsion spring, worm wheel, worm gear are used. Next, the control system using PI controller is proposed. The encoder attached to the knee joint is used as the reference value and the encoder attached to the motor is controlled by the motor. Finally, an experiment of repeated flexion and extension of the knee joint is conducted. It is verified that the motor can be controlled to be same angle of the knee angle. Therefore, the power assist by the exoskeleton is useful for the rehabilitation.

Cable-less micro-robots have exhibit great capabilities for remote applications in small and constrained environments, especially in biotechnology and healthcare. This paper presents a swimmer propelled by its undulatory deformation using magnetoelastic composite material. The robot can move freely on water surface driven through a function of magnetic field, such as forward, backward and steering with different velocity. The magnetic field is generated by 3D Helmholtz coils, and the locomotion of the micro swimming robot is controlled by different applied magnetic field. To understand the characteristics of the swimmer, the force balance equation is established, and the morphologies of swimmer with different magnetic field are analyzed and described through finite element analysis method. Furthermore, we discuss and analyze relationship between the parameters of magnetic field and the speed of the swimmer. The experimental results verified the speed model of the swimming robot, which is influenced by the frequency and strength of magnetic field.

This paper aims at solving the problems that the manipulator will be constrained by the flexible load, and the caused constraint force is difficult to control. Based on the deflection screw theory, the dynamic model of the manipulator system is established by using the Lagrange equation. Firstly, according to the interaction of the end effector, the flexible load and the environmental constraints of the manipulator, the equation of motion of the entire system is built. Secondly, the dynamic model of the manipulator system is set up, that the system including the flexible load and the manipulator. Finally, Under the certain known environmental constraints, the dynamic modeling of a manipulator is performed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the simulation of a flexible beam operated by a 3-DOF manipulator.

This paper describes the development of a Cloud-based solid cutting simulation service system for 3D toolpath verification before it is to be uploaded to a CNC machine tool for machining operation. A user can access the system through common WWW browsers such as Internet Explorer and/or Google Chrome in either a PC running Microsoft Windows, a smart phone running Android, or an iPad running iOS. The system can perform real time solid cutting simulation based on the toolpath (NC program). The system provides user with standard views such as 'ISO View', 'Front View', 'Right View', and 'Top View';dynamic customized 3D view could be controlled through the mouse operation on the client side to ease the visibility during the simulation. The proposed system has been successfully implemented on a public cloud system Microsoft Azure with expected performance and is expected to assist a user in verifying the correctness of the toolpath and to enhance the efficiency in a geographically dispersed networked environment. © 2016 IEEE.

The dust removal technology of weld image is helpful to promote the development of weld target detection and tracking control. Aiming at the problem that the image restoration algorithm has halo phenomenon in depth discontinuity and easy to cause color distortion, this paper proposes a single image restoration algorithm based on fusion of bright channel and weighted guided dark channel for dedusting of weld image. Firstly, the bright channel hypothesis is derived according to dark channel priori (DCP), and the bright channel obtained by the adaptive method will fuse with the dark channel image to construct the fusion channel. Then, the weighted guided filter is used to optimize the rough transmittance. Finally, the restored image of the weld is recovered according to the atmospheric scattering model and the restored atmospheric light. Simulation experiments and image quality analysis show that the proposed algorithm can recover the details of the weld image and suppress the halo phenomenon. The image segmentation networks are used to further verify that our algorithm can improve the accuracy and integrity of weld segmentation. © 2020, Politechnica University of Bucharest.
