The finite element simulation for the joints of an exoskeleton robot is conducted in this paper. Using software OpenSim to simulate the normal walking gait of the human body, the motion angle and moment of the human hip, knee and ankle joints are obtained. Using the obtained data as the input parameters in the finite element simulation of the simulation software Ls-dyna, the strain diagrams and contact force curves of the circular roller and cam disk were obtained. In this study, three commonly used materials are selected: alloy steel, ductile iron and hard aluminum alloy. Finally, the effects of different materials on the key components of the series elastic actuator are studied. © 2020 IEEE.

In rotating machinery, because of high-speed working characteristics and terrible working conditions with variable cycles and variable loads, it is easy for rotors to cause a crack initiation and propagation, which may cause serious harm or even the life-threatening. The super harmonic component is an important role of the crack detection. But it is difficult to reflect the super harmonic component in the high-speed region after super harmonic resonances. In this paper, the dynamic equation of a nonlinear rotor system with a crack is considered, the potential energy expression of the cracked rotor is derived, and the concept of energy tracks is proposed. In the distortion of energy tracks, the effects of different crack parameters and nonlinear parameters on the vibration characteristics of the rotor system are compared. The results show that the energy trajectory distortion can diagnose the crack fault. It provides a new research method for vibration response analyses and fault diagnoses of cracked rotor system.

In the context of engineering education, to improve the practical engineering skills of engineering students, the teaching ideas and implementation methods of the curriculum are designed based on Outcome-based Education. A blended teaching approach was used to design the implementation process to achieve the curriculum objectives. In this paper, we explain the process of blended teaching from the two aspects of basic knowledge and competency training. Active learning of basic knowledge is implemented based on a three-step blended teaching model before, after, and during classes. It adopts the project-driven learning approach of the flipped classroom model and cultivates students' ability to solve complex engineering problems through collaborative group and intra-group mutual assessment. Based on the original objective assessment of the curriculum and under the current teaching model, we design a diversified evaluation approach to comprehensively assess the effectiveness of student competence achievement. Practice has shown that project-based inquiry-based teaching methods based on the flipped classroom model can promote learning outcomes for students and increase their interest in learning. It avoids the blind and aimless theoretical learning process of the student and improves the practical ability of the student. The methods and means of instruction of teachers have been further extended, and the ability of students to learn independently has been improved.

A cloud platform for engineering drawing course teaching was proposed based on cloud station. The cloud station can solve the common problems existed in engineering drawing course, such as the difficulty of teaching, the heavy work of tutorship, the poor teaching effect, the weak spatial imagination of students, as well as the current difficulty to develop the virtual model resource base and the interaction is not strong. The platform uses Solidworks software to build 3D model library, and combines with CADbro's powerful cloud service and 3D file viewing function to realize the interaction and sharing with cloud model by using web browser. At the same time, we choose bilibili, a popular cultural site for teenagers, to release the explanation videos of exercises, and make use of the convenient way to build the cloud station to integrate, release and manage the resources. The platform realizes self-study and self-test at anytime and anywhere on both PC and mobile devices, and fast jumps the corresponding explanation video and cloud virtual model according to the demand. The virtual model in the cloud can be rotated, cut, distance measured, exploded, parts hidden, moved, 2D viewed and so on by touch. The platform is innovative, extensible, interesting and practical, which can greatly enhance the students' enthusiasm for independent learning, and it can be used reference to the development of engineering drawing teaching resources.

Studying the vibration of asymmetrical dual-rotor is very important for aero engines. In this paper, based on the vibration characteristics of an aero-engine, a different novel coupled dynamic model is proposed based on the spring recovery characteristics of rotor. The model dynamic equations of asymmetrical dual-rotor are obtained by the Lagrange equation, and vibration resonance curves of high pressure and low pressure rotors are numerically simulated and theoretically analyzed by using the Runge-Kutta algorithm. The research show that the system occurs combined vibration, harmonic vibration and superharmonic vibration. In addition, the vibration occurring mechanism was investigated and verified in detail through numerical simulation. For the first time, the concept of energy orbit was introduced into the dual-rotor model system. The energy orbit represents the vibration characteristics and energy exchange process of the model system. Energy orbit is a new energy orbit method for analyzing vibration characteristics of rotor system. The new researches of this paper will show a different research direction for complex dual-rotor systems.

Focusing on the non-mechanical students' weak mechanical knowledge, a new cultivation mode founded on the outcome-oriented education (OBE) is suggested to improve the teaching effect for "Fundamentals of mechanical design". The teaching course contents are optimized to make students' learning process proceed simultaneously with project case study. The teaching methods of innovative project driven and problem-oriented are adopted. Students can be guide to change the passive learning mode by autonomous learning mode with the online learning resources. The innovative methods can be recommended to the process of curriculum design to reform the content. The course experiment has been changed into online and offline mixed teaching, so as to improve students' experimental practice time and cultivate their ability of integrating theory with practice, analyzing problems and solving problems. Finally, the formative evaluation mode with the learning results as the assessment index is adopted to improve the students' comprehensive ability. Compared with the control class, the experimental class has greatly improved the excellent rate and pass rate. In the questionnaire survey, the experimental class students have a higher recognition for the curriculum reform.

Based on experience of former teaching reformation and philosophy of "Emerging engineering Education", an experimental teaching reformation program that includes restructured knowledge system, modularization of experimental teaching process and diversified evaluation system is proposed. It is found that students have deeper and comprehensive understanding on knowledge and more enthusiasm in experimental process. Finally students have definite self-cognition about their division of labor in teamwork. Through gathering statistics, the effectiveness of reformation program is verified and this program can enrich practical experience of experimental teaching reformation.

engineering drawing is a compulsory technical foundation course for mechanical majors. Its main task is to cultivate students' ability to draw and read engineering drawings. The content of this course is complicated and abstract and not easy to understand, which makes it difficult for students to learn. Mind mapping is a visual thinking tool to systematize and organize abstract and complicated knowledge. Taking the application of mind mapping to various teaching processes of engineering drawing course, such as the construction of framework, the sorting out of fragmented knowledge, the solution of drawing geometry and sectional view, and the group project for important and difficult content as examples, we illustrate the importance of mind map in cultivating students' knowledge generalization ability, independent learning ability, enhancing students' logical thinking, creative thinking, divergent thinking, and stimulating students' interest in learning.

Crossing a door is usually a necessary action for autonomous patrol of an indoor surveillance robot. However, it is difficult for a large robot to cross narrow doors. In this paper, a method for detecting, locating and crossing a door for an indoor surveillance robot with Kinect is presented. Firstly, doors are detected and located based on RGB-D data collected form Kinect. Then, the conversion between robot coordinate system and world coordinate system is discussed. Thirdly, a nonlinear adaptive controller is designed for the robot to move perpendicularly through the door. Experiments were taken on a surveillance robot and the results illustrated the effectiveness of this method.

To achieve the accurate measurement of the hydraulic valve opening position, two different measurement circuits were designed respectively for two-coil and three-coil differential solenoid inductance displacement sensors. Compared the pros and cons of their static and dynamic performances. The peripheral measurement circuit based on the AD698 was improved, so as to enhance the sensitivity of displacement detection. The different sensor measurement circuits were tested to compare the static output characteristics of these two types of sensors. The experimental results show that AD698 sensor measurement circuit is featured with small nonlinear error, high repeatability, and low hysteresis error. Sensitivity varies with the range of the measurement. When the sensor measuring ranges of conditions are defined, it is appropriate to increase sensitivity. In Valvistor hydraulic cartridge valve system, AD698 measurement circuit would be used to test the real-time dynamic detection. When the system pressure is maintained constant, the valve opening size influences the response speed of the sensor measuring circuit. The greater the pressure valve, the faster the dynamic response of the valve. The relationship between main valve displacement and flow rate is also detected in these experiments.
