Hyperparameter optimization (HPO) is paragon to maximize performance when designing machine learning models. Among different HPO methods, Genetic Algorithm (GA) based optimization is considered effective because it allows a wide and diverse range of solutions to be explored. However, GA's exploratory nature makes this type of algorithm to evaluate many solutions that do not improve the overall performance. This is specially costly when the objective function to be evaluated is time-consuming, like in the HPO field. In this paper, we propose an efficient hybrid algorithm that is able to reduce computational cost by combining deep reinforcement learning with the Biased Random Key Genetic Algorithm (BRKGA), a variant of genetic algorithms. Our reinforcement learning agent has a decision-making role during the population's fitness calculation, in which it filters out chromosomes that would not improve the overall fitness of the population. The agent uses small amounts of pre-trained data to identify trends in potentially good solutions, and carry out its decision process. We conduct experiments on eight different datasets to assess the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the results show that the proposed method can significantly reduce the computation time of hyperparameter search using BRKGA (up to 44% reduction in computational time) without compromising the quality of the solution (no statistically difference in results).

The link prediction task has attracted significant attention in the literature. Link-based similarity measures (in short, similarity measures) are the conventional methods for this task, while recently graph embedding methods (in short, embedding methods) are widely employed as well. In this paper, we extensively investigate the effectiveness of embedding methods and similarity measures (i.e., both non-recursive and recursive ones) in link prediction. Our experimental results with three real-world datasets demonstrate that 1) recursive similarity measures are not beneficial in this task than non-recursive one,2) increasing the number of dimensions in vectors may not help improve the accuracy of embedding methods, and 3) in comparison with embedding methods, Adamic/Adar, a non-recursive similarity measure, can be a useful method for link prediction since it shows promising results while being parameter-free. © 2021 IEEE.

The use of technology nowadays does not feel strange. Everyday people who use technology for their daily needs, starting with each other, seeking knowledge, can even earn income by doing business using technology. Social media is a tool that can be used by people to become with each other by creating, sharing, and exchanging information virtually through a network. However, in the current era, the notion of social media is not only about exchanging information, but also to support business products. The problem is how to compete tightly in this modern era in increasing the selling value of business products. The positive impact of social media for sales in business products are huge such as, increase sales, increase product promotion, greater market distribution. On the other side, the negative impact also takes part such as, the more competitors, the products compete fiercely in the market. This research aims to identify more the impact of social media on sales of business products that focused on business, benefit, and factor. The research method that we used is quantitative which focuses on the number of samples of respondents to support the research results and the results are in the form of a graphic that shows the answers of the respondents to the questionnaire.

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most pressing health concerns because so many people are afflicted by its disabling symptoms. Factors such as age, excess body fat, insufficient physical activity, a history of diabetes in one's family, a sedentary lifestyle, an unhealthy diet, hypertension, etc., all increase the likelihood of developing diabetes mellitus. Health complications are more common in people with diabetes, including cardiovascular disease, renal failure, stroke, blindness, and nerve injury. To validate a diagnosis of diabetes, hospitals typically perform a battery of procedures on the patient. Big data analytics has many vital applications in the healthcare sector. Numerous large computer systems are used in the healthcare sector. With the help of big data analytics, researchers can sift through mountains of data in search of previously unseen patterns and insights. Current techniques have a poor degree of precision in classification and forecast. While previous research has focused on factors such as glucose, body mass index, age, insulin, etc., the proposed model takes these into account and also the other factors that may be more relevant to the development of diabetes. The newer sample is superior to the older one based on categorization accuracy. A workflow algorithm for diabetes prognosis is also required to improve the accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Anomaly detection from images captured using camera sensors is one of the mainstream applications at the industrial level. Particularly, it maintains the quality and optimizes the efficiency in production processes across diverse industrial tasks, including advanced manufacturing and aerospace engineering. Traditional anomaly detection workflow is based on a manual inspection by human operators, which is a tedious task. Advances in intelligent automated inspection systems have revolutionized the Industrial Anomaly Detection (IAD) process. Recent vision-based approaches can automatically extract, process, and interpret features using computer vision and align with the goals of automation in industrial operations. In light of the shift in inspection methodologies, this survey reviews studies published since 2019, with a specific focus on vision-based anomaly detection. The components of an IAD pipeline that are overlooked in existing surveys are presented, including areas related to data acquisition, preprocessing, learning mechanisms, and evaluation. In addition to the collected publications, several scientific and industry-related challenges and their perspective solutions are highlighted. Popular and relevant industrial datasets are also summarized, providing further insight into inspection applications. Finally, future directions of vision-based IAD are discussed, offering researchers insight into the state-of-the-art of industrial inspection. © 2025, CC BY.

InstaGraM: Instance-level Graph Modeling for Vectorized HD Map Learning

For scalable autonomous driving, a robust map-based localization system, independent of GPS, is fundamental. To achieve such map-based localization, online high-definition (HD) map construction plays a significant role in accurate estimation of the pose. Although recent advancements in online HD map construction have predominantly investigated on vectorized representation due to its effectiveness, they suffer from computational cost and fixed parametric model, which limit scalability. To alleviate these limitations, we propose a novel HD map learning framework that leverages graph modeling. This framework is designed to learn the construction of diverse geometric shapes, thereby enhancing the scalability of HD map construction. Our approach involves representing the map elements as an instance-level graph by decomposing them into vertices and edges to facilitate accurate and efficient end-to-end vectorized HD map learning. Furthermore, we introduce an association strategy using a Graph Neural Network to efficiently handle the complex geometry of various map elements, while maintaining scalability. Comprehensive experiments on public open dataset show that our proposed network outperforms state-of-the-art model by 1.6 mAP. We further showcase the superior scalability of our approach compared to state-of-the-art methods, achieving a 4.8 mAP improvement in long range configuration. Social media has now become a place for others to exchange information in the form of writing, photos, videos, and audio. Social media has become a place for humans to interact from all over the world. In the use of social media, attractive professional information is conceptualized as access to relevant information and opening up better career opportunities. User content about work and choosing personal information compilation strategies consistently predict information usefulness. This study discusses the effect of using a linked-in application on the success of its users in the professional world. It is hoped that it can provide insight into the use of this recruitment application, making it easier for users to find work. The research model used in this research is quantitative. The survey was conducted on connected users in Indonesia using an online questionnaire, and the data collected was analyzed using PLS-SEM. Of the 68 respondents who took the survey, it can be said that all research models have a positive relationship with the successful use of the linked-in platform. © 2022 IEEE.

Neuropeptides configure the feeding network of Aplysia. For example, egestive activity is promoted by small cardioactive peptide (SCP), and ingestive activity is promoted by a combination of feeding circuit activating peptide (FCAP) and cerebral peptide 2 (CP-2). In addition, SCP and FCAP/CP-2 have a common network effect that does not contribute to motor program specification. They increase the excitability of an interneuron, B63. In this report, we further characterized the effects of peptides on B63. We performed voltage-clamp experiments and used a step protocol to look at steady-state currents. We found that SCP and FCAP/CP-2 both induced an inward current that was virtually absent in low-sodium saline. Previous work has established that B63 is unusual in the feeding circuit in that subthreshold depolarizations are autonomously generated that can trigger motor programs. Here, we show that this autonomous activity is more frequent in the presence of peptides. Previous studies have also shown that activity of the feeding central pattern generator (CPG) can be initiated by neurons that excite B63, e.g., by cerebral buccal interneuron 2 (CBI-2), a projection neuron that triggers biting-like motor programs. Here, we show that the latency of CBI-2-induced activity is decreased by stimulation of the esophageal nerve (EN) (which releases endogenous SCP). These results, taken together with previous results, indicate that peptides that act divergently to configure network activity additionally act convergently to promote motor program induction. We present data that suggest that this arrangement facilitates brief switches between ingestive and egestive motor activity. © 2025 The Authors.

Efforts to map atomic-scale chemistry at low doses with minimal noise using electron microscopes are fundamentally limited by inelastic ***,fused multi-modal electron microscopy offers high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)recovery of material chemistry at nano-and atomic-resolution by coupling correlated information encoded within both elastic scattering(high-angle annular dark-field(HAADF))and inelastic spectroscopic signals(electron energy loss(EELS)or energy-dispersive x-ray(EDX)).By linking these simultaneously acquired signals,or modalities,the chemical distribution within nanomaterials can be imaged at significantly lower doses with existing detector *** many cases,the dose requirements can be reduced by over one order of *** high SNR recovery of chemistry is tested against simulated and experimental atomic resolution data of heterogeneous nanomaterials.
