Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that starts in the cells (melanocytes) that govern the color of your skin. Melanoma is the most lethal one among all other skin diseases and the only reason for 77% deaths due to skin cancer. The best way to reduce these deaths is to detect cancer at its early stages so it can be treated and cured with minor treatment or surgeries. To speed up and improve the process of early detection, we propose an automatic classification method for melanoma cancer using an advanced deep neural network. Deep learning models require a large dataset to work efficiently, but due to limited time and the heavy workload of doctors, there is a lack of annotated skin can-cer images. Therefore, the proposed model introduces adversarial training for achieving better accuracy even with a small amount of data. The model removes unnecessary details and noise from the image and amplifies the depth and gradient in the dimensions and the shade of the image. This proposed adversarial method uses the gradients of the loss with respect to the input image to create a new adversarial example image that maximizes the loss for an input image. The synthetically generated images are used in the classification system for training and testing purposes. A comparative analysis of training with an adversarial approach and without an adversarial approach on different pre-trained models, namely VGG16, VGG19, Densenet121, and Resnet101, is also introduced in this work. ResNet101 with adversarial training has shown a state-of-the-art accuracy performance of 84.77% for melanoma classification. Therefore, the proposed approach can be considered an efficient method for classifying benign and malignant melanoma. © 2022 IEEE.

Social media is a crucial aspect of modern society, shaping global communication and information exchange. Social media slang encompasses informal language expressions, abbreviations, and unconventional words on these platforms, serving purposes such as concise communication and identity establishment. data analytics from social media slang plays a vital role in providing real-time trends, enhancing sentiment analysis, and improving the accuracy of predictive models by capturing evolving linguistic trends. This study aims to address gaps in existing social media slang analytics by proposing a three-step process for extracting and validating domain-specific social media slang terms, specifically focusing on the domain of anxiety prediction in the context of mental health. The proposed approach involves the identification of relevant users, extraction of social media slang terms, and validation by subject matter experts. A pilot study is conducted in the domain of anxiety prediction, employing a self-prepared questionnaire and involving participants aged 13-14 from schools in Selangor, Malaysia. The pilot study identifies ten social media slang terms associated with anxiety, validated by subject matter experts who are licensed mental health practitioners. The slang terms exhibit varying prevalence levels among adolescents, with some terms absent from popular slang dictionaries like Urban Dictionary. The findings highlight the need for extracting slang terms from pertinent users and subject matter expert validation in incorporating social media slang into more appropriate predictive analytics. © 2024 IEEE.

This study investigates the effects of Fe on the oxygen-evolution reaction(OER)in the presence of *** distinct areas of OER were identified:the first associated with Fe sites at low overpotential(~330 mV),and the second with Au sites at high overpotential(~870 mV).Various factors such as surface Fe concentration,electrochemical method,scan rate,potential range,concentration,method of adding K_(2)Fe O_(4),nature of Fe,and temperature were varied to observe diverse behaviors during OER for Fe O_(x)H_(y)/*** amounts of Fe ions had a significant impact on OER,reaching a saturation point where the activity did not increase *** electronic interaction between Fe and Au ions was indicated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)*** situ visible spectroscopy confirmed the formation of Fe O_(4)^(2-)during *** situ Mossbauer and surfaceenhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)analyses suggest the involvement of Fe-based species as intermediates during the rate-determining step of OER.A lattice OER mechanism based on Fe O_(x)H_(y)was proposed for operation at low *** functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed that Fe oxide,Fe-oxide clusters,and Fe doping on the Au foil exhibited different activities and stabilities during *** study provides insights into the interplay between Fe and Au in OER,advancing the understanding of OER mechanisms and offering implications for the design of efficient electrocatalytic systems.

Graphs are good at presenting relational and structural information, making it powerful in the representation of various data. For the efficient storage and processing of graph-like data, graph databases have been rapidly developed and extensively studied. However, graph databases mostly use adjacency lists as their basic data structure (e.g., Neo4j), which could result in poor performance of edge due to the skewed degree distribution of *** design the Wind-Bell Index to address this problem. Wind-Bell Index is a memory-efficient index data structure, which can be attached to existing graph databases to speed up the edge. We have fully implemented our data structure in Neo4j, the most popular graph database today, and conduct theoretical and experimental analysis to evaluate the performance. Theoretical results prove the high query efficiency of our algorithm. And experimental results show that the average edge query speed is increased by hundreds of times compared with the original query interface of Neo4j. We believe that the excellent performance and scalability of Wind-Bell Index make it suitable for the application in a variety of graph databases. © 2023 IEEE.

Kidney stone illness, one of the most common medical problems worldwide, relieves pain and drives people to the ER. Diagnoses often use imaging, but educated doctors must interpret them. Computer-aided diagnostics (CAD) systems help doctors discover kidney stones more accurately. The suggested technique includes preprocessing, feature extraction, and model training. Ultrasound (US) image preprocessing includes restoration, smoothness, sharpness, and contrast enhancement. The Grey Level Co-occurrence Matrices (GLCM) analyze image texture to extract characteristics. Model training uses KELM. The KELM-based model outperforms Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) and K-Nearest Neighbours (KNN) with an average accuracy of 92.54%. This accuracy demonstrates the method can detect kidney stones in ultrasound images. This proposed shows that computer-aided kidney stone detection can be fast and accurate. The combination of GLCM's texture analysis and KELM's classification skills can help medical professionals diagnose kidney stones using imaging. © 2024 IEEE.

This study introduces an innovative IoT-enabled wearable device tailored for monitoring and providing feedback on stuttering, leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms to enhance precision and real-time responsiveness. The device integrates an array of hardware and software elements, including sensors, microcontrollers, and communication protocols, to accurately capture speech patterns and movements. Utilizing machine learning techniques such as Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), the device performs real-time analysis to identify stuttering instances. Detailed discussions cover the criteria for selecting machine learning models, the training and testing procedures, and the metrics used for performance evaluation. The prototype underwent extensive testing and validation, showcasing high accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity in differentiating stuttered from fluent speech. User feedback emphasized the ergonomic design, user-friendly interface, and real-time feedback features, highlighting its potential to significantly enhance stuttering therapy outcomes. Comparative analysis with existing solutions revealed the device's superior performance, indicating strong potential for clinical application. The study discusses the implications for stuttering therapy, acknowledges the limitations, outlines future research directions, and underscores the device's contributions to personalized and effective stuttering interventions. Farmers all over the world struggle to fight plant diseases. However, the incorrect use of pesticides can waste time, effort, and money and can also be very harmful to the environment and human health. In this work, we present an empirical study that involves identifying two pathogens related to Cucumbers plant diseases: Powdery Mildew and Alternaria Cucumerina. The study aims to develop a computer-based solution based on deep learning and machine learning algorithms to detect these diseases. To achieve this, a dataset of hundreds of samples was collected from ordinary farms in Beqaa, an agricultural region 15 KM north of Amman, Jordan. Three machine learning models were created in this study using Support Vector Machines (SVM), Logistic Regression (LR), and Multi-layer perceptron algorithms. The constructed models were applied to the dataset after embedding the dataset images using the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) InceptionV3 pre-trained model. The model was tested and evaluated using cross-evaluation and F1-Score, CA, AUC, Precision, Recall, and Specificity, which all showed excellent results, particularly using the SVM algorithm. The constructed methods are intended to be deployed to farms in their field condition environments using a CCTV system that can capture images of plants during growth, which can help identify plant diseases at that right stage, which would save time, effort, and money and reduce the impact of wrong and overuse of pesticides on consumers and the environment. © 2024 IEEE.

Invoice data is critical and highly sensitive for enterprises, yet it stands as one of the most extensively used data categories in the financial credit sector. Participants in the credit market, engaged in corporate lending activities, face the dual challenge of ensuring the security of enterprise invoice data and safeguarding the integrity of institutional rules. Traditional data computation and encryption present a dilemma, as two encrypted datasets cannot directly engage in calculations, and two datasets participating in calculations must be in plaintext. This necessitates the convergence of enterprise data and institutional rules for computation. Consequently, two sets of data must be exposed to one of the parties or a mutually trusted third party. In practice, identifying a genuinely trusted third party proves to be a formidable task. This paper introduces a federated privacy computing method based on an oblivious transfer algorithm in the context of risk control admission rules within the credit risk management field. This approach enables both parties holding data to determine admission rules without disclosing their own data. © 2024 SPIE.
