The constant evolution of software development technologies has provided new interactions mechanisms for improving the usability of software systems and increasing the productivity of healthcare professionals. In this sense, speech recognition uses methods and technologies that allow the capture and transcription of spoken language automatically. However, few studies only have used health professionals to prototype and validate graphical user interfaces with speech recognition for helping in the development of healthcare applications. This paper specifies a computational solution that makes use of speech recognition to assist healthcare professionals in recording patients’ clinical care data. Six physicians have participated in our study by prototyping activities and specifying workflow to be carried out in patient care. After that, the software architecture is specified and the proposed solution, which has been implemented based on the prototyping task performed by the end users, is detailed. To evaluate the proposed solution, we have conducted interviews with health professionals and the results showed a reduction in time and effort for recording patient information. In addition, using a quantitative approach, aspects of learnability, memorability, efficiency and satisfaction were investigated, where the proposed healthcare application tool obtained an average evaluation of 88% with respect to usability. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

The objective of the research is to develop a predictive model that can significantly enhance the detection and monitoring performance of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) using four supervised learning techniques. In this study, we applied four supervised-based classification techniques to the clinical ASD data obtained from 704 patients. Then, we compared the four machine learning (ML) algorithms performance across tenfold cross-validation, ROC curve, classification accuracy, F1 measure, precision, recall, and specificity. The analysis findings indicate that Support Vector Machine (SVM) achieved the uppermost performance than the other classifiers in terms of accuracy (85%), f1 measure (87%), precision (87%), and recall (88%). Our work presents a significant predictive model for ASD that can effectively help the ASD patients and medical practitioners. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The Fake news becomes a more critical issue nowadays, it may reduce the trust of the public about the particular information. This project focuses on the advancement of fake news detection model using machine learning. The main goal of this project is to develop, analyze a model that can effectively classify the news articles based on their Subject or contents. Natural preprocessing Algorithm and features such as Stemming, Tokenization, Stop word and TF-IDF Vectorization are used to train the machine learning model. Then the Machine learning Algorithms likeLogistic Regression and Random Forest are used to classifying the dataset which gives 98% accuracy and 99% of accuracy score. For this Project we have taken a dataset of 22413 Real news and 23481 Fake News from the online resources. This model has a potential to reduce the impact of fake news by grant the promotion of accurate and reliable information in a society.

The 3D generative adversarial network (GAN) inversion converts an image into 3D representation to attain high-fidelity reconstruction and facilitate realistic image manipulation within the 3D latent space. However, previous approaches face challenges regarding the trade-off between the reconstruction ability and editability. That is, reversing a real-world image to a low-dimensional latent code would inevitably lead to information loss, and achieving a near-perfect reconstruction using high-rate triplane representation often limits the ability to manipulate the image freely in the latent space. To address these issues, we propose a novel latent conditioning encoder-based framework with the alignment between the low-dimensional latent and high-dimensional triplane. A non-semantic guided editing strategy bridges the intrinsic relation between the latent condition and triplane generation, making it possible to edit the high-dimensional representation by latent manipulation. As a result, our method can achieve high-fidelity reconstruction and editing simultaneously by directly controlling the latent code. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach excels in reconstruction and editing quality compared to previous 3D inversion methods. Furthermore, our method can also edit even real faces with large poses and out-of-domain cases.

A dependable and secure energy consumption forecasting system is proposed with parallel long short term memory neural networks and singular spectrum analysis (SSA). The input data is a time series dataset collected by an energy loading sensor installed for a particular household. The energy consumption patterns of in total five households in the UK were investigated. The SSA is employed for feature extraction by decomposing the original time series data into a series of constitutive sub-signals. A Parallel LSTM (PLSTM) learning model is then conducted to predict the energy consumption patterns for each SSA sub-signal. The decomposition and signal merging processes enhance the resilience for sensor faulty and errors, i.e., improve the security and dependability levels. Experiment results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid model significantly improves the prediction precision compared with benchmark models. The pressure of power load and maintenance cost of the grid can be drastically reduced. In addition, the training time of our proposed model is much faster than the benchmark model. The shortening of model training time can greatly advance the research on household power consumption. © 2021 IEEE.

Facial expression editing has a wide range of applications, such as emotion detection, human-computer interaction, and social entertainment. However, existing expression editing methods either fail to allow for fine-grained editing, resulting in unnatural and unrealistic facial expressions, or generate artifacts and blurs, leading to poor image quality. In this paper, we propose a novel framework called StyleAU, which is based on StyleGAN and facial action units, to address these problems. Our framework leverages the pre-trained StyleGAN prior knowledge to enable action unit editing of the face in the StyleGAN latent space, allowing precise expression editing. In addition, we use an encoder to extract multi-scale content features to achieve high-fidelity image reconstruction. Our approach qualitatively and quantitatively outperforms competing methods for action unit manipulation and expression editing.

Behaviors of vacancies during the amorphous-to-crystalline transition of thin HfO2 layers were studied by monoenergetic positron beams. The HfO2 layers with 430 nm thickness were fabricated on TiN/Si templates by atomic layer deposition technique. The major vacancy-type defects in the layers were identified as (i) Hf vacancies (VHf) coupled with oxygen vacancies (VOs) and (ii) vacancy clusters. After annealing at 500°C, the concentration of vacancy clusters increased, which was attributed to the agglomeration of intrinsic open spaces in the amorphous phase upon the phase transition from amorphous to crystalline phases. The phase transition started near the interface between the HfO2 layer and bottom electrodes (TiN). After the crystallization, the concentration of vacancy clusters decreased as the annealing temperature increased. © 2024 IEEE.

The proliferation of malicious applications has increased rapidly, requiring a more effective approach than traditional methods for auditing and matching code. The behavior of malicious software provides valuable information, with the API call sequence, which represents the order in which operations are generated by both malicious and benign software in a sandbox environment, has become a crucial data source. In this paper, we propose a hybrid model that combines convolutional neural network (CNN) and long short-term memory network (LSTM) to detect and classify malware. We train and classify the model using a large dataset of API sequences called by both malicious and non-malicious software. Compared to traditional machine learning methods, our model eliminates the need for manual extraction of specific instruction calls from assembly code. Furthermore, compared to other deep learning models, hybrid model with LSTM shows significantly improved detection performance. Specifically, the CNN-LSTM model achieves a 24% and 22% increase in accuracy and at least a 16% and 14% higher F1 score compared to other models. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed model in enhancing malware detection capabilities.

Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that starts in the cells (melanocytes) that govern the color of your skin. Melanoma is the most lethal one among all other skin diseases and the only reason for 77% deaths due to skin cancer. The best way to reduce these deaths is to detect cancer at its early stages so it can be treated and cured with minor treatment or surgeries. To speed up and improve the process of early detection, we propose an automatic classification method for melanoma cancer using an advanced deep neural network. Deep learning models require a large dataset to work efficiently, but due to limited time and the heavy workload of doctors, there is a lack of annotated skin can-cer images. Therefore, the proposed model introduces adversarial training for achieving better accuracy even with a small amount of data. The model removes unnecessary details and noise from the image and amplifies the depth and gradient in the dimensions and the shade of the image. This proposed adversarial method uses the gradients of the loss with respect to the input image to create a new adversarial example image that maximizes the loss for an input image. The synthetically generated images are used in the classification system for training and testing purposes. A comparative analysis of training with an adversarial approach and without an adversarial approach on different pre-trained models, namely VGG16, VGG19, Densenet121, and Resnet101, is also introduced in this work. ResNet101 with adversarial training has shown a state-of-the-art accuracy performance of 84.77% for melanoma classification. Therefore, the proposed approach can be considered an efficient method for classifying benign and malignant melanoma.
