Based on the construction requirements of the "Emerging engineering"major in intelligent manufacturing engineering and the characteristics of interdisciplinary integration, the cultivation of high-quality interdisciplinary talents has been established as the primary objective. By coordinating multiple on-campus and off-campus resources and fostering cohesion within the entire discipline supervisor team, the "academic supervisor system"training mode has been established, and the continuous training mechanism for "undergraduate and master's"programs has been effectively developed. Additionally, school-enterprise collaborations have been implemented, and practical bases have been successfully established. With the support of the entire discipline supervisor team and the closed-loop integrated laboratory, the practical teaching system characterized by cross-integration and systematic progression has been developed at our university. By creating a step-by-step, planned, and systematic practical course system, the issues of standardization, randomization, and fragmentation within practical courses have been effectively resolved. Through the integration of project-based courses and school-enterprise co-constructed courses, students' innovative abilities are further enhanced. It then describes the design and implementation methods of major design, and analyzes its practical effects. It holds significant reference and demonstrative value for the construction of practical courses, laboratories, and the talent cultivation model of the "Emerging engineering"major. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Modelling Method and Meshing Characteristics of a Novel Curve-Surface Conjugate Internal Gear Drive

Space exploration has become a major focus in the field of technology,with gear transmissions in aerospace equipment playing a crucial *** the extreme environment of space,gear transmissions face challenges like large temperature differentials,deformation and maintenance difficulties,which will severely impact transmission accuracy and service *** meet the growing demands for high-performance gear transmissions with high transmission efficiency and error adaptability in the aerospace field,this paper proposes a novel curve-surface conjugate internal gear drive consisting of an involute internal gear and a curve-surface *** fundamental theory of curve-surface conjugation is introduced,and the construction method for curve-surface gear based on a selected contact path and meshing tube is *** analysis models including induced curvature,sliding ratio and tooth contact analysis with errors(ETCA)are simulated to evaluate the meshing ***,prototypes are manufactured and experimental setups are established to validate the transmission *** results indicate that as the rotational speed increases,the transmission efficiency of the curve-surface conjugate internal gear drive improves,which is contrary to the trend observed in involute gear *** the transmission efficiency of the curve-surface conjugate internal gear drive surpasses that of the involute gear drive at higher rotational ***,this novel gear drive exhibits excellent error adaptability,maintaining intact contact paths and high transmission efficiency even in the presence of assembly *** study provides new ideas for the design and manufacture of high-performance gear transmissions from the perspective of spatial geometric elements.

Strength-ductility synergy in Mg-Gd-Y-Zr alloys via texture engineering in bi-directional forging

In this work,we successfully fabricate an ultra-high strength Mg-11Gd-3Y-0.5Zr alloy with ultimate tensile strength of 523 MPa and enhanced ductility via cost-effective bi-directional forging (BDF) and subsequent annealing heat *** elucidate the role of BDF and gain a fundamental understanding of the remarkable simultaneous increase of strength and ductility,systematic microstructure characterization and analysis are *** is revealed that the double-peak basal texture,with basal poles located at the center of two mutually perpendicular forging directions,serves as an essential factor for the strength-ductility synergy of the Mg-11Gd-3Y-0.5Zr alloy processed with *** of the double-peak basal texture in overcoming the strength-ductility trade-off include promoting non-basal slip,increasing ductility,and enlarging the Hall-Petch effect along the sample elongation direction while reducing the extent of anisotropy in critical resolved shear stresses of different slip *** study demonstrates that texture engineering is a powerful strategy to control magnesium alloy performance and BDF is a promising processing technique for enhancing mechanical properties of magnesium alloys.

This paper introduces D-Fusion SLAM, an advanced VSLAM system based on ORB-SLAM2. D-Fusion SLAM integrates depth information to enhance feature selection, aiming to improve accuracy and speed in visual SLAM applications. The system mainly comprises two modules: an image grid filtering module based on grayscale information and a feature selection module integrating depth information. These modules effectively eliminate redundant and useless features, ensuring high-quality features for pose estimation. We tested D-Fusion SLAM on the TUM dataset and compared it with ORB-SLAM2. Experimental results demonstrate that D-Fusion SLAM outperforms ORB-SLAM2, significantly enhancing the system's accuracy and robustness. © 2025, Politechnica University of Bucharest. Anticipating the lifespan: Predicting the durability of an anode-supported solid oxide fuel cell short stack over 50,000 h

In the present study, the operational lifetime of a solid oxide fuel(SOFC) short stack is predicted by investigating the performance degradation of both the short stack and its cells throughout 1000 h at 800°C. The short stack and integral cell voltages are continuously measured during the long-term test, with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) conducted every 200 h. The short stack voltage decreased rapidly for the initial 200–300 h and afterwards, it decreased at a slow rate due to the increase in the Ohmic and polarization resistances in the same manner. Scanning electron microscopy results show that there is no delamination or cracking among constituent layers of the short-stack cells. The single degradation effects of the Ni coarsening in the anode, cation migration and surface segregation in cathode and oxide scale growth in metallic interconnect mesh are successfully integrated into a comprehensive lifetime prediction model. The experimentally measured voltage degradation data of the short stack fits well with the developed mathematical model and allows the successful prediction of the lifetime up to 50,000 h.

Effect of emulsification of biodiesel fuel on gas emission and thermal property

The aim of the present study is to produce the stable biodiesel emulsion fuels and to disclose the effect of emulsification of biodiesel fuel on the emission and thermal property characteristics. Emphasis is placed on the conditions related to the effective of glycerin fatty acid ester as a hydrophobic emulsifier in biodiesel emulsion and the characteristics of exhaust gases and water content. Here, biodiesel fuel is obtained via transesterification of rapeseed oil with methanol and ethanol and its emulsification, i.e., stable homogeneous mixture of water and biodiesel fuel is performed with the aid of Glycerin fatty acid ester (CR-310) as surfactant. It is found that (i) nitrogen oxides (NOx), for biodiesel fuel, is reduced with the increase in engine speed, while carbon oxides CO is slightly increased, (ii) emulsion fuel stabilizes over water content between 5 and 20% for over 1 month, (iii) production of NOx for diesel and bio-diesel fuels is suppressed due to water suspension and this trend becomes larger with an increase in engine speed and (iv) in contrast, CO emission is increased with an increase in water content and the corresponding effect of engine speed is minor. © 2022

Simple and effective:Superlubricity behaviour of the G-quadruplex hydrogel with high selectivity for K^(+) ions based on the ocular environment

Hydrogels have been the subject of significant research in the field of friction due to their exceptional lubricating *** this study,the G-quadruplex hydrogel with high selectivity for K^(+) ions was formed by introducing a mixture of G,2-formylphenylboronic acid,and polyethylene glycol diamine into simulated artificial tears solution with high transparency,and an ultra-low coefficient of friction(COF)of about 0.004 was obtained based on the simulated ocular environment,thus achieving macroscopic *** friction pairs simulating the ocular environment,to assess the frictional performance of the G-quadruplex hydrogel as both a lubricant and a friction pair based on the simulated ocular environment,we conducted experiments considering various factors such as concentration,sliding speed,and *** these experiments,it was found that superlubricity was achieved when the G-quadruplex hydrogel was applied as lubricant or friction *** effect was attributed to the three-dimensional network structure and hydrophilicity of the hydrogel,which facilitated the formation of a highly bearing and flowing hydration layer,promoting macroscopic *** to the G-quadruplex hydrogel with low concentration,the high concentration hydrogel(75 mM)exhibited increased mechanical strength and robustness in *** with biocompatibility experiments,our synthesized G-quadruplex hydrogel has excellent biocompatibility and offers a novel approach to achieve superlubricity in ocular drug delivery.

The predicaments of micro-scale gain motivation and its high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) extraction primarily restrict the practical measurement of a superior spatial resolution (SR) for stimulated Brillouin scattering sensors. A high-SNR phase-chaos laser Brillouin optical correlation domain analysis (PCL-BOCDA) is introduced to breakthrough the physical bottlenecks. The fundamental principle of gain excitation scale based on PCL linewidth is proposed, and a novel SR evolvement model is constructed. The significant impact of edge effects on SR measurement is thoroughly analyzed, and this approach is theoretically capable of achieving higher SR benefiting from the narrower gain range and feebler accumulation noise. Experiments with different linewidth PCLs are conducted and the results are confirmed to the simulated ones. Ultimately, an SR of 4.8 mm with a relative error of 4.3% is achieved over a 1.14 km sensing distance, representing a tenfold improvement over previous results. This advancement provides a competent approach for high-SR sensors and their application. © 1983-2012 IEEE.
