In this work, a mesh-free indicator is proposed to detect the bifurcation points of incompressible viscous fluid flow in a 2D sudden expansion. This indicator is mainly based on the high order mesh-free algorithm (HO-MFA) to solve the nonlinear problems obtained from the linear stability analysis. The Padé approximants are then used to improve the validity range of the HO-MFA and to determinate the roots of the indicator. The combination of these mathematical tools allows us to determine the zero of the indicator corresponding to the critical point. The Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction is used to search all the bifurcated branches from the critical point. To show the accuracy of our model, comparisons of the obtained results with those of the literature are made. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This paper explores a relationship between invariants of certain group actions and the time-reversibility of two-dimensional polynomial differential systems exhibiting a $1:-1$ resonant singularity. We focus on the connection of time-reversibility with the Sibirsky subvariety of the center variety, which encompasses systems possessing a local analytic first integral near the origin. An algorithm for generating the Sibirsky ideal for these systems is proposed and the algebraic properties of the ideal are examined. Furthermore, using a generalization of the concept of time-reversibility we study $n$-dimensional systems with a $1:\zeta:\zeta^2:\dots:\zeta^{n-1}$ resonant singularity, where $n$ is prime and $\zeta$ is a primitive $n$-th root of unity. We study the invariants of a Lie group action on the parameter space of the system, leveraging the theory of binomial ideals as a fundamental tool for the analysis. Our study reveals intriguing connections between generalized reversibility, invariants, and binomial ideals, shedding light on their complex interrelations. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

XAI refers to the techniques and methods for building AI applications which assist end users to interpret output and predictions of AI models. Black box AI applications in high-stakes decision-making situations, such as medical domain have increased the demand for transparency and explainability since wrong predictions may have severe consequences. Model explainability and interpretability are vital successful deployment of AI models in healthcare practices. AI applications' underlying reasoning needs to be transparent to clinicians in order to gain their trust. This paper presents a systematic review of XAI aspects and challenges in the healthcare domain. The primary goals of this study are to review various XAI methods, their challenges, and related machine learning models in healthcare. The methods are discussed under six categories: Features-oriented methods, global methods, concept models, surrogate models, local pixel-based methods, and human-centric methods. Most importantly, the paper explores XAI role in healthcare problems to clarify its necessity in safety-critical applications. The paper intends to establish a comprehensive understanding of XAI-related applications in the healthcare field by reviewing the related experimental results. To facilitate future research for filling research gaps, the importance of XAI models from different viewpoints and their limitations are investigated. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

In this paper, we will present a new method of partial reconstruction of the 3D image. The latter is based on the following two concepts: one is the stable discrete orthogonal Hahn polynomials (DOHPs), which significantly reduces numerical defects. The other is the 3D image cuboid representation (ICR) to accelerate the computation time of discrete orthogonal Hahn moments (DOHMs) and improve the quality of 3D image reconstruction. The results of the simulation confirm the ability of the 3D image reconstruction using the proposed process. © 2022, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Fighting against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its consequence COVID-19 was the main task for scientists in the years 2020-2021. The authors of this article present innovative solutions which recently were undertaken by electrical and computer engineers to participate in the struggle with the pandemic of COVID-19 in the world. The number of the attempts presented is limited as well as a pretty big number of them are still in progress. The paper shows the representative solutions which can be used in the pandemic of COVID-19 or in any other pandemic in the future as the temperature monitoring, ansomia and cough analysis, vaccines using the electroporation phenomena. © 2021 IEEE.

We present new parton distribution functions (PDFs) at next-to-leading order (NLO) and next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in perturbative QCD, derived from a comprehensive global QCD analysis of high-precision data sets from combined HERA deep-inelastic scattering (DIS), the Tevatron, and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). To improve constraints on quark flavor separation, we incorporate Drell-Yan pair production data, which provides critical sensitivity to the quark distributions. In addition, we include the latest W and Z boson production data from the CDF, D0, ATLAS, and CMS collaborations, further refining both quark and gluon distributions. Our nominal global QCD fit integrates these datasets and examines the resulting impact on the PDFs and their associated uncertainties. Uncertainties in the PDFs are quantified using the Hessian method, ensuring robust error estimates. Furthermore, we explore the sensitivity of the strong coupling constant, αs(MZ2 ), and proton PDFs in light of the projected measurements from the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), where improvements in precision are expected. The analysis also investigates the effects of inclusive jet and dijet production data, which provide enhanced constraints on the gluon PDF and αs(MZ2 ). © 2024, CC BY.

Non-relativistic Strings: Classical solutions and exactly solvable models

We discuss classical closed string solutions in non-relativistic two-sphere target spaces. These classes of solutions closely relate to the GKP-type, spinning and pulsating strings for the relativistic case. We derive the string dynamics in each case and construct relevant dispersion relations, both from the string Newton-Cartan intrinsic sigma model and using a large speed of light expansion of relativistic Polyakov action. We further discuss construction and characteristics of exactly solvable Neumann-Rosochatius-like dynamical systems corresponding to strings in leading and subleading orders of the expanded Polyakov theory.
